The Loving Glances I Held Out Were Reciprocated

Summary:

This is when Hirose broke up with his girlfriend, Nakamura confessed his feelings for Hirose but was softly turned down, instead of holding a grudge against Hirose, he simply accepted the platonic relationship he had with him and slowly moved on from his crush on him.

As Nakamura's and Hirose's friendship grew, so did Hirose's feelings for Nakamura start to bloom in his heart, at first, only brushing it off as if it was normal to feel like that with friends and thought of it as a mere passing distraction, but the more he spent time with him, he began to give in to the acceptance that he was in love with Nakamura.

How did it come to this? Hirose only saw him as a friend at first yet now he was acting so skittish and nervous around Nakamura all the time. Whatever that feeling is, he cant seem to put his finger on why his heart throbbed and ached whenever he saw Nakamura and Tamura together.

Chapter 1: Slowing Heartbeat

Chapter Text

(A/N: this is in Hirose's perspective for now)

"I want to break up. You aren't as interesting as I kind of expected..." Hana spoke with the same gentle tone she held all the time, I was about to reply to her when I suddenly spotted Nakamura standing near, holding two trash bags, staring at us before he immediately placed the trash bags in the corner where the dumpster sat.

After Nakamura took his leave, I turned to Hana and answered politely, "Well then, this is goodbye!", I waved my hand to her as I ran to Nakamura and catch up to him. The moment I was behind him, I slapped a hand on his back enthusiastically. "We broke up!", I chuckled at the sight of of Nakamura's shocked expression, "I mean, what did she expect? I can't understand girls!" I gave out a cheeky grin towards Nakamura as I wrapped my arms upright behind my head as I walked alongside with him on the sidewalk.

I walked ahead and turned around to face Nakamura, "I'll see you tomorrow, let's hang out!", I announced with shining excitement as I moved ahead.

(A/N: this is in Nakamura's perspective)

I stared at Hirose's back as I stood still in place, wrapping my thoughts around the fact that Hirose and his girlfriend broke up, which meant.. I HAD A CHANCE!! But I didn't get my hopes TOO high, what if Hirose still had feelings for her? What if they were going to get together again? Well no matter the outcome, I'll still support Hirose in every way even if he doesn't reciprocate my feelings.

After I had gotten home, I laid still on my bed and stared up at my ceiling with a silent, bored, dark atmosphere that surrounded me.

"Hirose and his girlfriend broke up," I murmured quietly to myself as I retraced the events before. With a deep and strong breath of air, I huffed and sat up before I silently declared I would try and get close to Hirose and maybe we'll be more than just friends and he will finally reciprocate the feelings I have for him.
