When Gao Ming gained consciousness, he was tied to a chair while he was gagged and blindfolded. All he could feel was pure terror. He didnt know who kidnapped him. After all he's debted to too many people. Suddenly the blindfold on his eyes ripped open. In front of him stood all his debt collectors. All of them looking quite pissed off.
"Glad to see you awake Gao Ming." FanMing sarcastically said.
"You must be wondering why you are here." HanMo commented and remove the gag.
Gao Ming panicked. He started babbling.
"Please, just give me more time. I can bring your money. I have children. You guys can take them. One beta and one alpha. Even my wife an omega she has good physique she can entertain you. I never had any complaints about her"
WanWu yanked Gao Ming's hair.
"We are bad sure but you, you are even worse than us. Yiu never learn do you? Well its fine we have all time in the world. We decided your fate. You are gonna work till you die. And its gonna take years."
"Please give one last chance i can bring the money."
"Oh please don't waste our time with your lies. We are at the end of the line. You can't run anymore."
"Yes no more running Gao Ming. To the world youre gonna be dead. A tragic accident that took your life."
"But you'll be away working to death isnt it funny."
Before Gao Ming say anthing else they gagged him again. Their men took terrified Gao Ming to ship him away.
"Honestly i pity his family."
"WanWu dont tell me youve gone soft."
"Nah have you seen them were doing good for society. Let it be our good deed."
"Is it because of the horoscope you read?"
"….no?"
FanMing and HanMo snickered at him.
"Yeah sure. I believe you don't you FanMing?"
"Yeah yeah i believe you too."
WanWu rolled his eyes at them. His hobby of reading horoscope is none of their bussiness anyways.
Police officer knocked on the Gao family's door. Li Yun opened the dor and when she saw police she got scared.
"Are you Li Yun? Wife of Gao Ming."
"Y-yes officer. Is everything okay?"
"Ma'am im sorry to say this. Your husband had an accident and sadly passed away."
"What?" Li Yun couldn't believe what she heard.
"Around midnight a drunk driver hit your husband. Your husband couldn't make it. You can collect his body and belongings at the Xinjiang hospital." Police officer bowed his head and leaved.
Li Yun stood frozen at the door. She felt relieved that he no longer hurt their family but she was also scared that now that Gao Ming no longer alive the debt collectors will come after them. How is she gonna tell her children their father is dead. She decided she's gonna take care of thing one at a time. First she should go to hospital.
"Hello. Police told me my uhm my husband's body is here. Can you help me please?"
"Of course Mrs. Im sorry for your loss. May i ask your husbands name?"
"Gao Ming his name is Gao Ming."
The receptionist looked at the records and called morgue asking about Gao Ming. After confirming his belongings there with him in the morgue turned to Li Yun.
"You need to go left when you see vending machines turn right. There's elevators that can take you to morgue. You need to press -4. Again i'm so sorry for your loss."
Li Yun nodded and followed the direction receptionist gave her. She can't help but thinks her children. How are they supposed to pay those debts. Gao Tu already sacrificed too much. Not the mention Gao Qings illness. Maybe she can persuade the debt collectors.
When the elevator stops she took a deep breath and followed the signs. And soon reach the morgue. Morgue technician saw her.
"Are you Mr. Gao Ming's relative?"
"Yes i'm his wife."
"This way please."
First thing Li Yun noticed how cold inside is second is how dull its looking. She followed the technician. They stand next to a covered body.
"Do you want me to leave or stay Ma'am?"
"I want to be alone with him if that's okay."
"Of course. Excuse me then. If you need anything please call for me."
When morgue technician leaved Li Yun stood and watch the body. She couldn't bring herself to lift the cover. She feels guilty for wishing he was alive even after all the things he done to her and her children. She wished so many times to go back in time never marry him. But standing there in the morgue in front of the body she didn't know what she should feels. Being only parent is hard but really what she has been doing is already single parenting. The cold of the morgue started to make her shiver. She should lift the cover and confirm it. Li Yun took another deep breath and lifted the cover from his face.
Face looked unrecognizable but she is sure that's not her husband. Li Yun thoughts theres been a mistake and called the technician.
"That man is not my husband."
"Ma'am that is your husband. We had to do a dna test to confirm the identity."
"But he is not my husband i know."
"I understand that its hard to loose your husband but he is indeed Gao Ming. Here, the dna test results."
Li Yun took the test and looked at it. The test indeed said the body belongs to him. She was sure its not him. She can't explain but she was so sure.
After starting the funeral process Li Yun called Gao Tu and told him to come home quickly. She went to her home and started to think how she gonna tell this news to her kids. All she knows she had to find money so she can pay Gao Mings debt and make sure kids don't know about the debt. While she was thinking Gao Tu came home.
"Mom is everything okay? Nothing happened to Xiao Qing right?"
"Xiao Qing is okay. She is resting in her bed. Go wash up while i woke your sister so we can have dinner."
Gao Tu nodded and washed up. Li Yun woke Gao Qing and they started to eat dinner. Gao Tu was mostly watching his mom. Something must happened if she called him and tell him to come home. She sounded exhausted more than usual and worried.
They finished the dinner Li Yun told them to sit at the livingroom and she will join them shortly. Gao sibling left the kitchen and Li Yun took a deep breath and put dishes in sink. She joined them on livingroom and sat on the couch between them.
"What going on mom? Somethings wrong, please tell us."
"I want you to listen to me without interupting, can you both do that?"
Gao sibling nodded. Li Yun thought easiest way to do it is ripping the bandaid off.
"Today a police officer came and he informed me of your fathers passing. A drunk driver hit your father and he couldn't make it. I saw his body and confirmed it. I started the funeral process. 2 days later is when the funeral is gonna happen."
Gao Qing started to tear up while his father was little bad he was still her father. Gao Tu on the other hand didn't know what to think. He felt relived that he no longer there to hurt them but there was a faint feeling of sadness. He doesn't deserve it, all he did caused them pain and suffering. He was able to mostly spare Gao Qing of his doings. He worked at so many part time jobs just so they could afford Gao Qing's treatment and pay his gambling debts. His mom and he had to pretend for Gao Qing that he is not that bad but it was worth keeping her innocence about their father. Xiao Qing was young and sick, if he is the one suffer its fine, she should be unaware of the Gao Ming doings.
Li Yun watched her children process the information. Seeing her baby teared up hurt her but seeing Gao Tu sitting with no reaction made her worry for her son. She wasn't a good mother. She couldn't shield her children from her husbands deed. Her oldest suffered too much. But now that Gao Ming is dead he is free to be an omega. After funeral she's gonna take him to doctor so they could purge suppressants in his body. She will find jobs so he could continue his schooling without worry. She had to step up more considering the debt Gao Ming had.
The day funeral held was sunny. A clear sky, perfect weather not too hot or too cold. Gao Tu thinks its fitting. World get rid of one of the worst parasites. Its like world celebrating Gao Ming's death. Funeral held quickly, only people had come were him, his mother and sister. Too many people for him, he didn't even deserve that much. They took his ashes and returned home. Li Yun told the kids she will spread the ashes herself next morning. Funeral ended quickly but it drained them. Li Yun prepared some food so the kids eat before resting.
After sending Gao Tu to school, Li Yun asked their neighbour if she can look after Gao Qing for a while. Their neighbour agreed to watch Gao Qing. She took his ashes and went to find somewhere far away from home to dump the ashes. She went to the abandoned neighbour where Gao Ming usually loiter around. Just as she was gonna throw the urn someone stopped her.
"Dumping his ashes here? I don'tthink its appropriate."
"I think its fitting, no?"
"Who are you?" she hoped these men just let her to go back to her children, she can't leave them.
"One of the men Gao Ming had debts obviously."
"I don't have money right now but i will find it just give me time."
"Oh don't worry about that."
"Yeah consider his debt has been collected."
"Think of it as our gift?" The men smirked.
"Please dont play with me, just give me time i will bring your money." She pleaded.
"Oh no no, we're not playing with you. We're quite serious."
"His debt cleared with his death. You can consider this as us pitying you."
"Being married to that guy ugh."
"Yeah you suffered enough. We're feeling nice so take our goodwill, thank us and go home."
"Unless you want to pay debt with interest. We wont object to that."
"No no i will go home, thank you for your generousity" Li Yun turn around and started to leave quickly before they change their mind. While leaving she thrown the urn to some garbage can.
