"Luz?" Philip's voice, and the crinkle of the Oreo cookie pack carried from the far side of the kitchen.
"M'yeah?" Luz glanced up from her science homework, which was, ironically, biology. Philip's current state defied all human-realm biological mechanics, and even with the knowledge that it was demon-realm magic that allowed him to carry his and Camila's child, it still weirded her out greatly. Philip was leaning against the counter, crunching his way through what Luz suspected was the last of the sweets. He had an uptick in appetite the last few months; it was odd to think that in less than two months now, her little brother would be here. It didn't feel real.
Things honestly haven't felt 'real' since finding out that her mother and her sworn enemy had been in a relationship for a while, since Luz had been living in the Boiling Isles with Eda and her friends the whole time, she nearly died from the shock when she came home for Easter.
"I've been over-indulging in sweets as of late." Philip closed the cookie packet's top, "Could you please perhaps put these where I cannot reach? All this sugar isn't healthy for the little one." Or for Philip, but after nearly four centuries, if being afflicted with a goo monster curse wasn't going to kill him, Luz doubted that excessive sugar would.
Setting her pencil down, Luz trotted over; she took the Oreos from him, and immediately placed them on the floor.
"Oh, you little-" He growled, but Luz fled the kitchen in a shriek of laughter. She'd get scolded later, but it was totally worth it.
