Kitty sleepily smiled as she heard Ellie’s giggles from the other side of the door. She knew Ellie would soon come in and sneak into the room to cuddle with her and Minho. She reached out with her eyes still closed and to find her husband, but instead of his warm, bare chest, her hand was met with the cool sheets. Kitty was fully awake, but kept her eyes closed, as she knows Minho and Ellie have something since it’s Mother’s Day.
The door quietly opened and Ellie climbed into bed and tackled Kitty into a hug.
“Happy Eomma Day!!” she exclaimed and Kitty chuckled and wrapped her arms around her.
“Thank you, baby,” she smiled. Kitty kissed the top of Ellie’s head and smelled the strawberry scented shampoo from last night’s bath.
“And we brought breakfast,” Minho said, still standing by the door. Ellie scrambled off the bed to grab something off the tray and Kitty wrapped an arm around her swollen belly and used her other to push herself up.
Ellie got on the bed and basically trampling onto Kitty, which caused Minho to instantly move to make sure Ellie didn’t accidentally hurt Kitty.
“Ellie-yah, what have I said about jumping on Eomma when little brother is in her belly?” Minho sternly asked.
“Minho, it’s ok. She’s just excited,” Kitty said, putting her hand on his arm to comfort him. He looked at her and kissed her forehead.
“Sorry. Appa. I was just so excited to give Mama her card!” Ellie said.
“I would love to see my card, baby,” Kitty said, smoothing her daughter’s bed head.
Ellie smiled and thrashed her arms in front to show the card and crumbled gerbera dairy. Kitty’s eyes softened as she pulled her daughter close and took the card from her hand. The card was covered in glitter, stickers, and doodles. When she opened it, there was a drawing of two stick figures, who were holding hands and fairy wings. One of the two was smaller than the other and had black hair with purple wings. The other stick figure was taller with a huge belly that had auburn hair and yellow wings. Kitty looked closer at the stick figure that was supposed to represent her and chuckled at the little figure in her belly in the drawing.
“Baby, I love it,” she said and planted kisses all over her cheeks, which caused Ellie to uncontrollably giggle. She wrapped her little arms around Kitty’s neck and hugged her even with the baby bump making it a little hard for them to be close.
“I love you, Mama,” Ellie said, against her neck. Kitty sniffed as she could feel her hormones start acting up and hugged her tighter.
“I love you too,” she said softly.
Minho smiled at his girls and fell more in love with his wife. He knew she was gonna be a good mom when Lara Jean and Peter would ask them to babysit or Jiwon and Alex. Then they had Ellie and he got the experience to be there and watch her be a great mom, which he’s very thankful for as they soon welcome a little boy.
“Happy Mother’s Day, jagiya,” Minho said, presenting the tray filled with breakfast foods and sitting on the edge of the bed by her. Kitty smiled and laced their hands together.
“Eomma, can we eat now?” Ellie interrupted the soft, quiet moment. Kitty and Minho chuckled and he grabbed Ellie to place her in his lap and tickle her sides. She burst into laughter and tried to push Minho’s hands to stop tickling her.
“Appa!” she squealed and Minho stopped and kissed her head.
“Sorry, princess. You’re just my silly girl,” he apologized. Then whispered in her ear, “You can present the breakfast.”
She grinned and brought the tray closer with Minho’s help as he pushed it away when he started tickling her since he knew she’ll squirm and he didn’t want her kicking the tray and making a mess.
“Mama, I make breakfast for you!” she said and Kitty snorted as she knew Ellie tried to eat everything Minho was making and he shook his head at Ellie taking the credit of cooking. But she smiled as she gazed at the pancakes topped with strawberries and whipped cream, banchan, and peaches.
“Since you made this for me, would you help me eat it?” she asked. Ellie nodded so fast and crawled back into Kitty’s lap. Kitty laughed and cut a piece of the pancake and fed the bite to her. Ellie smiled and reached for a peach slice and shoved it with pancake.
Minho snorted. “Ellie, baby, save some food for Eomma as it is made for her.”
“Sorry, Eomma,” she apologized as Minho picked up some banchan with chopsticks and fed it to Kitty.
The three continued eating all the food that was on the tray and had some funny moments in between. Kitty smiled as she looked at her husband and daughter, this is what you imagined as her future and couldn’t be more happier.
“Thank you,” she whispered to Minho as they let Ellie finish the rest of the peach slices.
“For what?” Minho asked, rubbing his thumb back and forth on her hip.
“For loving me even when you found me annoying and sticking with me through these years and making me a mom,” she said.
Minho softly smiled and they shared a sweet kiss.
“Well being annoying is one of your most endearing qualities,” he joked, which caused Kitty to let out a laugh and a roll of her eyes. “But it was my pleasure to love you these years and watching you be an incredible mom to Ellie and soon our baby boy.”
Minho leaned into her cold hand when she cupped his cheek.
“I love you, nampyeon.” (husband)
“I love you, buin.” (wife)
