"Kacchan!"
They were chatting. It had only been two months since Class 1-A had graduated, and things were calming down. Traumas still lingered in their minds, and the heroes were trying to recover, but everything was peaceful— most of the time.
The recent graduates would now join agencies as pro-heroes and form their own patrol teams. Well, except for Katsuki. He preferred to patrol alone, but sometimes he would run into Izuku at the end of his shift— not that he'd say it was intentional, of course not!
But, out of nowhere, a villain emerged from the shadows and attacked them, claiming that taking down the two strongest heroes in Japan would make things easier for him. Katsuki was Dynamight, with his black and orange uniform and hands ablaze with his explosions.
Izuku was preparing to join UA as a teacher. He was just wearing a suit. He was just quirkless again. He was just an omega. And he was right in front of a villain, defenseless. Even with Katsuki standing by his side, he didn't want to be useless. He never had been, and he never would be again.
So, he ran after Katsuki, who noticed Izuku approaching.
"Deku, get back!" He blew up some boxes near the villain to get his attention. "What the hell are you doing?"
Izuku was running to the other side to be a distraction. "It's okay, I can protect myself!"
"You fucking can't!" Katsuki yelled at him, trying to blow up the villain once again. The caramel alpha's scent became more sour from the worry he felt. "Stay out of it, shitty nerd! Don't make me repeat myself, Izuku!"
"Kacchan, don't worry! Go that way!"
The omega tried to help, recalling his notes, his battles, giving Katsuki some directions while he yelled for Izuku not to come closer. But Izuku was quick and motivated, so in no time he was already by Katsuki's side.
"Deku! Don't come!"
But before Izuku could answer him again, the villain was too close to them. And both were too close to each other. A single touch from the villain on Katsuki's arm was enough for him to pull Izuku behind him, trying to protect him, but in vain. Quirk activated.
Katsuki blinked repeatedly. The place was bright and the floor was hard, although the smell was pleasant, almost adorable. He was supposed to smell smoke, blood, and explosions, while at the same time he was supposed to be hearing sirens, shouting, and buzzing. But all he heard was running water and a murmur coming from somewhere else.
Bakugou opened his eyes. He looked around quickly and realized he was in a room. A neat, clean, fragrant room, with a double bed in the center, some decorations around it, clothes scattered about, some toys, and also some All Might action figures.
Surprised, the alpha looked at himself. He was wearing the same dirty clothes from the previous battle with the villain. Where was he? At Izuku's house? That was the only way to explain all the All Might decorations. And the smell. That undeniably pleasant smell was Izuku's; Katsuki would recognize it from any distance. Cinnamon and honey. His favorite smell, even if he never intended to say it out loud.
Then he took two steps to the dresser and picked up a picture frame that was on top. His eyes widened. In the photo was a small version of himself, but with green eyes.
"The fuck?" It had to be a bad joke, he thought. What was all this?
Agonized, he put the picture back on the dresser and turned towards the bedroom door. The sound of water continued. Realizing this was someone's house, he imagined the sound was coming from the kitchen. His steps were slow, but heavy.
"Kacchan? You home yet?"
Katsuki frowned. That was Izuku's voice. And he could clearly smell Izuku's scent. Two more steps and he reached the living room. A counter separated the room from the kitchen, and he saw Izuku staring at him. But not his Izuku. I mean— not the Izuku he knows. This Izuku was different... like, older?
"Who the fuck are you?" Katsuki didn't want to be subtle. If this was a joke, an illusion, or whatever else that villain had done, it had to end quickly. And fast.
"What—Kac...chan?" Izuku seemed totally confused. Then, he looked at his phone, softened his expression, and looked back at Katsuki. "Oh, I remember this day." Katsuki raised both hands toward the maybe-fake-Izuku and prepared his explosion quirk to fire at any suspicious movement.
"I said, who are you? Are you the villain? Where the fuck is he? Where is Deku?"
All Izuku did was smile. He wiped his hands on a dish towel and walked around the kitchen counter to get closer to Katsuki. This Izuku looked a lot like his Izuku. Yes, his Izuku for now. This Izuku had shorter hair, but his physique was very similar. Maybe 2 or 3 centimeters taller than his Izuku. And his face was more mature.
"Kacchan, it's okay, I'm-"
"Stop calling me that!" He shouted, nervous. Only his Izuku could call him that, and not this maybe-fake-Izuku.
"I gave you this nickname, so I think I'm allowed to call you that."
"What the hell? Where am I? And for the third time- and I'm not gonna fucking repeat myself once more: who. the fuck. are you? Shitty villain." Katsuki approached with his hands raised. This Izuku looked so much like his Izuku and smelled just as good, that Katsuki was terrified of what it all could be.
"You got hit by a quirk, right?" maybe-fake-Izuku raised his hands in surrender, trying to calm him down. "It's okay, but..." he sighed, trying to find the words. "I don't even know how to tell you this without sounding like a lie or scaring you, but you're actually in the future."
...What? There was a long pause. Katsuki wanted to laugh at that silly joke. But... actually, that explained a lot. In the future? No, it wasn't possible.
"It's me..." Katsuki examined him. He smelled him from afar. "Izuku. Or... Deku. I don't remember how old you are."
And as if his vision had been blurry before and had now improved, Katsuki finally saw him. Of course, that was also his Izuku. It was the same perfect scent as always. But it was an older Izuku. An Izuku from the future.
"Where is... me?" Katsuki asked, somewhat faltering, finding it strange to refer to himself. "And why the hell am I here of all places?" Izuku walked to the sofa, settling in, but still staring at Katsuki, waiting for some reaction.
"Alph—Kacchan—I mean, you—or you from the future..." Izuku laughed a little. "Should be here any minute now. Do you want some water?"
"How do I get back home?" It was just a whisper. He wasn't even looking at the man sitting in the couch.
"I don't know... do you want something-"
"Get lost!"
That was rude even to him. He was trying not to be that rude anymore, especially not to Izuku. And then again there was him, doing exactly that.
Katsuki wouldn't lie; it was all fucking scary. Why is he in the future with an old Izuku? Why would his future self be there by any minute? And why is there a picture of a little Katsuki, but with green eyes? Then, he snapped and looked at future-Izuku.
"Who is that baby?"
Izuku's eyes widened. "What?"
"The baby in the portrait. In the bedroom. Who is it?"
"I-" Izuku looked away. "I don't know how much I can tell you. It's been eight years already from this day, I don't even remember where I went."
Hold up. Katsuki wasn't even hearing him anymore. Eight years? He was eight fucking years in the future? What the hell has happened? In fact, what happened to the world eight years later? He knows Izuku is alive. He probably knows he's alive too. Where's his mom? His friends? How's he on the pro hero ranking? No, wait. Back to the present-future.
Katsuki then just sighed, already exhausted. Eight years. He walked with slow, short steps to the sofa and sat down next to future-Izuku. Katsuki played with his fingers for a bit before looking back at Izuku, who's already staring at him.
Izuku was still pretty. Hell, he will always be. The most beautiful omega Katsuki has ever laid his eyes on. Katsuki couldn't help but get emotional and smile. It was good to know that even eight years later Izuku was okay and apparently happy.
"How do I get home, shitty nerd?" Izuku laughed at that.
"Sorry, I really don't remember any details. But I'm pretty sure it won't take too long, you'll see. While you're here, I'm happy to make you some company. Althought I must not talk to you that much. I think...? Because, you know, since you're from the past, I don't think I can tell you any spoilers from your future, but—"
Then he kept ranting. Katsuki wasn't listening to him, even though he was trying to. But this is his Izuku, eight years later and still adorable. Still lovable. Still smelling so good.
"You smell so good."
"—And I think you'll be— what?!" Izuku was surprised. He was used to Katsuki complimenting him, but he remembered very well that it had taken a good few years for that to start happening.
But what the hell was Katsuki saying? Maybe it was the quirk effect, yes, definitely. He would never open his mouth to say something like that, especially not to Izuku. But it felt so right. He didn't know if it was the house (which he imagined was their home), if it was the smell, or if it was simply having a more mature Izuku in front of him, but he wanted that. There.
"Sorry, I- Fuck. I-" Katsuki was stuttering? What was happening? Why was he more nervous than usual? It was normal to be nervous in Izuku's presence, but not like this. Especially since Izuku never intimidated him. But having a future Izuku sitting in front of him, his scent all over the house, and a baby picture that looked just like him in the room made something carnal awaken in Katsuki's alpha.
"Are you sick? You're so red!" Izuku then placed a hand on Katsuki's forehead, and that was the cue for the alpha to approach him. The smell was so strong it would intoxicate him.
"Oi! What the fuck is going on?" A yell was heard and a door was slammed shut. Izuku trembled and young Katsuki looked in the direction of the noise. He then looked at himself up and down.
Katsuki was surprised at himself. His future self was much bigger, both in height and muscle. He was stronger, with a more mature look and also with slightly shorter hair. Just a little.
"Spill, Omega! The fuck you doing to..." Katsuki then looked at... Katsuki. "Fucking hell. That day already. Hey, you- me." He yelled at- him. Young Katsuki was a total mess of confusion. "Get your dirty hands away from him. He's not yours yet."
Yours. Yet? His? Izuku was... his? In the future? That was... He actually wanted that. He didn't know it already back in his days, but he... He wanted to have Izuku as his omega. Katsuki knew that for a while, but it was so damn difficult to admit it out loud. How could he even think of having Izuku since he caused him so much pain and suffering?
"I said fuck off!" Young Katsuki was woken from his reverie by his older self pulling him from the couch, and then pulling Izuku closer to him. "And fucking stop thinking too much, you're pissing me off. Yes, you love him, yes, he loves you, and all that shit."
Wait. Wait the fuck up. Love? He loves Izuku? And Izuku loves him? What the hell is future Katsuki saying? Young alpha knows this is himself and he should probably trust him, but this is going way too fast. He just got here like five minutes ago.
"The hell you're saying, shitty... me? You're the one who's pissing me off. This shit is too confusing. I need to go home!"
But the couple wasn't paying attention to him anymore. And then it clicked. The couple. Young Katsuki stared at them for a few seconds.
The couple. Him and Izuku. Are a couple. In the future. Oh my. God? What?! Katsuki sat down again on the couch. They are a couple. So that means— are they actually going to be a couple? Did he want this?
Of course he did, and he knew it very well. All the past hatred towards Izuku always had very strong feelings behind it, feelings that were always kept hidden, even from himself. Katsuki began to realize that there could be something when he gathered enough courage to go after Izuku and apologize publicly.
But, in his mind, what he felt was something more like being friends. Maybe even best friends. They were childhood friends who became rivals, but it didn't seem right for them to be enemies. So Katsuki always knew he wanted to be Izuku's friend. But more than that? Love? A couple?
When did he realize this feeling? He looked at himself in the future, saying something to Izuku while staring at him with eyes full of... love. When had that guy, his future self, realized these feelings? Maybe when he died? Definitely, upon dying, Katsuki knew that... that...
Of course. He knew that he couldn't live without Izuku. Not being able to live to have the omega by his side was a way Katsuki definitely didn't want to live. And he wouldn't.
"Hey, old man."
That snapped something on his future self. Older Katsuki grabbed him by the front of his shirt and lifted him off the ground.
"Who're you calling old, brat? I'm just 25!" Izuku was just laughing from behind them. Katsuki threw the young alpha on the couch again and approached Izuku. "I'll get Itsuki in a bit, so-"
"Hey!" Young Katsuki was yelling again. He still wanted to know that little detail, and he didn't know how much was left for him.
"The hell do you want?"
"Who's that baby in your... in the bedroom?"
"Oh." The older alpha just smirked. He turned around to get a portrait right beside the TV. "This little one? He's your son."
"Kacchan!"
"What?"
His son. He and Izuku are a couple. They have a relationship; a romantic one. They got their own house. And they have a son. Together. Who looks just like a mini version of himself. But with Izuku's eyes. A great combination. But they needed another one to have all Izuku's features. Wait- what?!
But before anything else could happen and scare young Katsuki even more, three knocks on the door caught all of their attention. Older Katsuki distanced himself from Izuku to open and then he came face to face with Kirishima.
"Bakubro! Midoriya, how are you guys?" The couple couldn't even react that fast that Eijirou was already changing the subject. "I ran into someone... and I thought you'd like to see that."
Right behind him was a young Izuku. Katsuki then got up from the couch. He could smell his sour cinnamon scent from miles away. A few steps and he could finally see a deceiving young Izuku.
"Ka-Kacchan!" The young omega whispered.
"I found him lost in the streets, and I knew something was off with this Midobro when he couldn't even tell me who Itsuki is. So, here we are."
"Kac-chan..." Young Izuku whispered again, trying desperately to get his attention.
"Thank you so much, Kirishima-kun. We'll take care of... me." Future Izuku tried to get a hold of him, and his young self just let him.
Kirishima then left. And future Izuku explain in a simple way to his past Izuku that both of them were in the future. The older omega left out some specific details neither of them needed to know at the moment, and he kept clean.
It was kinda obvious that they were in their shared house. And by future Katsuki's behavior, it was obvious they were a couple in the future; older alpha looked like he likes people to know Izuku is his omega. And young Izuku was blushing just thinking about having a shared bedroom with Katsuki.
Well, and his Kacchan was quiet all the time. Bickering future Katsuki from time to time, but not even saying a word to him.
And then was the photographs. There were several portraits around the room. Young Izuku knew that he always wanted to have a room like this, with decorations that reminded everyone who lived there and with photographs of good memories.
And in most of the photographs, there was a baby. He understood that the baby's name was Itsuki, and future Katsuki had proudly shouted that this was their son.
Son. Their son. Izuku was blushing again. He was going to get pregnant with Kacchan's baby. He couldn't even think straight with that image stuck in his brain.
He already knew what he felt for Katsuki, for his Kacchan, in his present days. He knew from the moment he saw Katsuki dead, heartless, lying lifeless on the battle floor. Lifeless, voiceless, without explosions, without joy. Without his strong alpha scent. Izuku's favorite scent. He knew he couldn't live without him. But to think they would actually get together was too much for him.
On the sofa sat the two Izukus, already getting used to the situation.
"Do I— Are you— I mean... Do we, do we get to fight villains again? Do you have another quirk?" Future Izuku just smiled fondly at himself.
"I ain’t giving you any information from the future," he points at the baby in the picture, "I think that’s enough."
"How old is he?" Young Izuku was truly curious, almost asking 'when do I need to get ready to get pregnant?'. The other Izuku just laughed.
"I'm not saying."
"Okay, Omega. Brats." Katsuki got a hold on Izuku's waist. "I'm off to get Itsuki. "Be right back."
Then the older alpha leaned on and kissed the omega on his lips.
That seemed to be enough to shock them both young ones to the core. Katsuki and Izuku passed out at the same time in the middle of their future living room, leaving their future behind. The future they were about to build.
Katsuki blinked repeatedly. The place was bright and the floor was hard. The smell was of smoke, blood, and explosions, and he heard sirens, shouting, and buzzing. But he also smelled cinnamon and honey very close to him. Izuku.
He sat up quickly and widened his eyes. Then the alpha looked around and realized he was at the battle site, but instead of the villain attacking them, the police were already there and some heroes were also ready to help. A layer of ice led to Todoroki, and beside him were Ochako and Iida.
They weren't important now. Katsuki looked up at the body beside him and saw Izuku there, staring back at him. Izuku still looked scared, but his face was clearly all red.
"Are you okay?" Katsuki asked so sweetly that Izuku blushed even more, if that was even possible. The alpha extended his hand for him to take, and then they stood up.
"Ye-Yeah..." Izuku looked away. "Are you?"
"I'm not sure." That was too much honesty coming from Katsuki. Izuku was already wondering if things were going to change that fast. "That was..." he sighed, "something." Izuku just nodded at that. "Are we sure it wasn't an illusion?" Do you think it was like, real?"
"Oh, I know it was." Okay, that was fast. And he was even more embarrassed about it.
"What, how?" Katsuki was way too close now, Izuku needed to breathe.
"I-I just know, Kacchan, I-"
"Say it. What did you see, shitty nerd?" Katsuki took him into his arms and Izuku could smell the intoxicating scent, driving him crazy.
"I just- Itsuki." He shouted it. The alpha was clearly confused. And the omega just kept blushing, heart racing fast inside him. "That was the name I'd like to... you know..." And then Katsuki was even closer to him, almost embracing Izuku, touching his skin.
"I don't know. Tell me." That was the softest whisper Izuku had ever heard Katsuki say. And it was enough for him to answer anything to him at the point.
"It's the name I wanted to give our baby."
Katsuki lost it right there. He didn't care if Izuku had just gone through a shock or if a lot of information was still being processed. He didn't care if there were people around watching them. The alpha only knew he needed to act. And he would.
He quickly approached and grabbed Izuku by the waist with one hand, and with his free hand held his cheek, approaching his face. Katsuki quickly pressed his lips to his, kissing him intensely. It was a kiss he didn't even know he needed so desperately, and it was a kiss he would learn to love and become addicted to. And he would know he could never live without it again.
"I'm sorry, I'm—just really overhelmed." Katsuki apologized after they separated, but still holding Izuku close.
"It's okay, Kacchan."
"You know you're my omega from now on, right? No fucking alpha getting near you ever again." And the omega was a blushing mess all over again. "Get used to it, nerd."
"I like it already, Alpha." Katsuki hugged him around the waist as they walked towards the people who were waiting for them.
"And I like the name Itsuki. Great choice, my Omega."
