The Yawning Grave (It Will Come Back)

Summary:

You know all about superheroes and their powers, but where did they originate from? What about we uncover the truth about the origin of the predecessor of Compound V

Aka unwriting a false god and having the egg before the chicken; or the supe before the V

Notes:

Heyyyy this is a goofy self-indulgent AU in a way but also to tie along with part of S5 for fun lol

this n my other fanfic get some of my favs songs in their titles lol

Chapter 1: Dead Mans Hand

Chapter Text

At first all I felt was darkness till the spirts lifted me up, looking at me worried, more of them then when I last remember, as if something has gone on. I shake the dirt from my body, wandering through the frozen pines, trying to figure out what is going on. Last thing I remember is the strange scientist who I had trusted pulling the trigger. Eventually I end up at the end of my forest, looking up at the city below, a particular building peaking my interest, the name Vought pulling me forward, it jogging my brain but I have no clue why.

I flexed my sore joints and wandered into the city, making sure to grab a big jacket I found to cover myself as the cold hit my bones, knowing I might seem strange. I looked around the bright city, the lights hurting my eyes, but I managed to keep walking, stunned when in my subconscious I see someone floating in mid air, someone similar but different to me, but he didn't seem friendly, so I made sure to hide, watching him as he lasered down a criminal, though the sensation I had was he was bad news, but he wasn't truly there, just a memory that stuck into my mind like an arrow.... but that's just the start of exploring this world that's changed without me, but has a need for me, a tale I haven't been told, one being something the Earth has planned for me.

Maybe I might learn what that story has to tell.
