Chapter Text
"Zankaaa"
The rocks hitting the window got louder and Zanka's annoyance only grew with it. He could feel Lovely Assistaff glowed blue and the buzzing of her reached his core as he felt his senses spike.
Fucking hell.
He threw the covers off himself lazily and shuffled to the window, he knew exactly who was standing out there.
"What the hell do ya' want!?" He quietly hissed.
Jabber's smile was wide and obnoxious practically stretching from ear to ear with his gold accented locs flowing through the polluted air.
His eyes shone when his eyes met Zanka's.
Despite how trashy the area was he still managed to look good.
Shit. He needed to stop thinking like this.
"Ya gonna let me in or what Zan-Zan? It's gettin' a lil' dark out here man!"
"Never took you for someone afraid of the dark, hurry and get yer ass up here!"
Jabber let out a triumphant giggle and comfortably made his way up to his window, unfortunately it was most likely out of habit.
When he finally entered through the window Zanka sighed and walked towards his bed where Lovely Assistaff still glowed, telling Jabber to take off his disgusting shoes but he didn't get a chance to scold him for throwing them across his room messily before he felt strong arms hug him from behind, and felt a warm face buried into the crook of his neck.
The Raider's hair was tickling him but Zanka felt comfortable in the warmth surrounding him. He could bear the sound of Jabber's rings hitting each other as he adjusted his fingers.
The glow from his staff dimmed.
"I was thinking about you Mr. Bad Attitude" his voice rumbled against his back. "our fight was all I could think about, man. It gets me soo worked up."
Zanka couldn't explain the effect Jabber's hushed, resonant voice had on him and he forced himself to swallow a groan when the arms around his torso tightened.
He imagines how they look, and how he might've sounded and realized how comfortable he has gotten with the other and quickly bucket of cold water was splashed onto his face.
Zanka suddenly spun in Jabber's arms and pushed him against the nearest wall, using Jabber's shock to lock his wrists in a grip and pressing him against the wall. Below his grip a bright fuchsia color arose from his rings.
Though with Mankira trigggered, his shock quickly wore off and then magenta eyes looking back at him were gleaming and hooded with satisfaction and something else he couldn't exactly describe.
They can't keep doing this. All of the risks of the cleaners finding out and, fuck, what if Enjin found out?
"I know yer freaky ass likes this so maybe this will get ya talkin'. Why the fuck do you keep coming back?"
The visits have only been happening for a few months but it feels like an eternity since the first one. The first visit almost resulted in a full blown fight that could've resulted in waking the entire base but much to his dismay, when Zanka realized that jabber wasn't much of a threat he released Lovely Assistaf from her position on Jabber's neck. There was no use fighting an unwilling enemy, he thought.
Since then, Jabber showed up whenever he wanted, mostly every other night but rarely he would actually be assigned missions and didn't stop by.
He loved those times. At least that's what he tried to convince himself.
He swore to himself -after internal berating for letting it get this far- that no matter what, he would never tell Jabber any information that could result in any harm to the cleaners and he has kept that promise. He will always keep that promise.
But the question of why had been rolling around in his head for weeks when he noticed Jabber getting more physical with him and decided that tonight he would get his answer.
"For you Zan-Zan!" he annoyingly drawled out his "name" while he giggled manically.
"Don't gimme that bullshit answer ya troglodyte, what's the real fuckin' reason? Doesn't yer' keeper wonder where ya' run off to every other night?"
As intimidating as Zanka was trying to be, he was genuinely curious. He hated it.
"My only keeper is you Mr. Bad Attitude and it's not like your kickin' me out either so.."
The grip he has on Jabber's wrists tightens because he hates that he picked up on his hesitation, though it wasnt exactly conspicuous.
Zanka releases him swiftly when he hears a groan come from the other. Ugh, the freak.
"Get the fuck out." He needed a damn break.
"Aww come on, you invited me up here and you know you really don't want me to leave."
He wanted to punch that stupid fucking pout off his face. He's really is shameless.
"Yer loud ass was gonna wake the whole base, I was simply doin' damage control, now you can get yer ass outta here since ya won't give me a serious answer."
He sat on his bed, his eyes closing as the tiredness seeped into his body, waiting for the sound of shoes and the familiar sound of Jabber leaving but nothing came.
Instead he opened his eyes to find Jabber standing in the same spot, with his signature smile just staring.
"I came all the way here so late at night for you Zanka, don't be boring. And I did give you a serious answer whatchu mean?"
Zanka's eye twitched.
"Ya holdin' out on me again, man, this is just like our fight! Don't you wanna go all out? Ya scared of me or somethin'?"
Like hell he was.
"You motherfucker-!"
There was a knock at the door.
Zanka froze, his abrupt shout was cut off and then another knock filled the silence.
"Yo Zanka."
Enjin.
Shit.
Shit.
Jabber stood unbothered but noticed the look on his face and raised one of his clipped eyebrows which earned him a scowl accompanied by Zanka signaling for him to shut the fuck up.
"Yeah?" His voice was thankfully nonchalant and he seriously hoped that Enjin hadn't heard them.
"Did you eat my secret stash of sweets?"
It took him a minute to fully register what Enjin said with all of his anxiety rushing through his body but when it clicked Zanka couldn't help but roll his eyes with a groan.
"No, Enjin I didn't eat your sweets! It was probably Rudo and Riyo."
He heard him hiss his teeth.
"Right! Sorry, Zanka, goodnight!"
"Night."
The sound of retreating footsteps echoed until there was only silence and then Jabber's giggles.
"Man, yall are fun! I should come here more often." Any sign of Jabber leaving was long gone as he made himself comfortable on Zanka's bed. Too comfortable.
"No. You should not and get off my bed yet fuckin' disgusting."
"Make me." His smile was teasing like he knew exactly what to say to get what he wanted out of him. It was fucking working.
He crossed the small distance with small strides and towered over the Raider's frame.
"Ya really makin' me wanna kill you right now." Zanka's hand was bawled into a fist as he looked into his burning, eager eyes.
He didn't notice Jabber's moving hands until he felt the cold metal of Mankira on his waist that sent a shiver down his spine.
The hands that were on his waist was a new feeling and he couldn't help but gasp softly at the feeling he felt in his stomach when those same hands used their grip to tug him closer.
If they were both standing they would be nose to nose.
The heat of his body spread quickly and was the strongest on his neck and face. What the hell is wrong with me? Am I sick?
Meanwhile Jabber's eyes never left Zanka's face, seeming to be tracking every expression that flitted across it, analyzing them.
"Stop staring ya asshole."
Before Zanka could rethink his actions, he grabbed Jabber's face in his hand and tilted it upward hoping to force their eye contact to be broken.
He didnt know what the reaction of that would be but Zanka should've expected the other to close his dazed eyes and exhale a soft moan.
"Harder, Zanka"
He only stared in slight shock to provoke such a shameless reaction and it only grew more when he heard his plea.
"Pleaseee, come on don't be a tease."
The tension in his body must've transferred to his hand because suddenly he had gave Jabber exactly what he was wanted when pressure was applied to his grip.
He let out a deep groan. "Fuck."
"H-hey what are you-!"
He was cut off again when Jabber fell back against the hard mattress pulling Zanka with him which forced him to brace himself by straddling him with his arms framing his face.
The other man was wearing a smug expression and his long hair was sprawled under him.
"Sorry again Zanka but did you-?"
Niether of them heard th
e the footsteps approaching the door not the door clicking -or if Jabber did, the fucker didn't say anything- it was too late.
"What the fuck?!"
