Scott Tibbs Headcanons

Summary:

A list of headcanons regarding Scott Tibbs, my favorite Saw character

Notes:

I've been working on some bigger things, but I feel like I should post something for the time being.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

  • He can’t stand silence. It makes him anxious, so he fills the space by tapping on things, talking, or playing music.
  • If you hand him a long object, he holds it like a guitar and starts to finger out whatever riff he’s been learning.
  • He scratches his beard as a mode of fidgeting. Adam hates it, and rightfully so; this man sheds like a dog, and his dry skin knows no bounds. At Adam’s place, Scott isn’t allowed to scratch his beard on the couch. In Adam’s words, “Get your goddamn face-pubes off of my couch. It's disgusting.”
  • He’s had a German Shepherd since he was about ten. It has a silly, classic dog name like “Rex” or “Destroyer (Dess for short).” The dog is old, but it's the only reason Scott still visits his parents.
  • His family was middle-class, and he grew up in a house that his parents owned. He takes it for granted, which pisses off lower-middle-class Adam.
  • He hates his stepdad and has a complicated relationship with his mom. At this point, he's given up on calling. As a kid, he used to comfort himself by thinking about how many years were left until he could leave.
  • Scott was overjoyed on his 18th birthday; to be honest, he didn't think he'd survive that long.
  • He can’t stand the taste of beer, but he orders it because he doesn’t want to ask the bartender for a “girl drink,” even though it sounds more enjoyable (and has more alcohol) than piss-beer.
  • His favorite color is orange
  • He loooooves Halloween, and he always dresses as either a vampire or werewolf. When he & Adam were younger, they swapped costumes (one of them had a vampire kit and the other had a werewolf kit, which they would exchange every other year), but they aren’t the same size anymore. Now, he just puts on some eyeliner, draws some whiskers, and calls it a cat costume. Halloween movies are his thing.
  • His spelling is kinda horrendous, and he’s self-conscious about it. He is diagnosed with dyslexia, but doesn’t tell people. He needed one-on-one help with reading/writing as a kid.
