Chapter Text
It was the start of Crystallian College, where the sun was out and shining all throughout the sparkling pristine campus. It was move in day, where the seven crew of friends were able to be roommates. Since they were first years there rooms weren't the best quality but better than other college dorms out there. Currently Applejack and Rarity were able to become roommates, and the rest of the crew roomed with each other.
“Oh darling do you mind bringing in my oh so precious suitcases” Rarity placed her delicate new manicured hands on Applejacks shoulder
Applejack already carrying her suitcase looked up at her, “I suppose I could carry one more bag for you”
In an instance, and with ease Applejack lifted Rarity's suitcase up the staircase and into their room.
Rarity decided to look around the room, it was not up to her expectations at all. It was actually the opposite, it was horrendous.
“Oh the colors are just so plan and not avantgarde” she then went to touch the curtain fabrics, “Oh no no no, this can not be”
Applejack finally walked up the staircase to their room, “What is it now Rarity,” she gently placed Rarity's suitcase on one of the beds.
“Applejack, these curtains are the problem,” she shook her head, “t-th-there bright red,” she cried out in pain.
“For crying out loud Rarity, if you hate them so bad, why don't you just change them” Applejack started to open her suitcase to organize her clothes
“Thats quite a splendid idea dear, we should go shopping after we get situated” she happily smiled as she too started to unpack. Rarity had a tremendous amount of clothes and shoes in just one suitcase, which seemed impossible.
After a bit they went out on an outing to get some decorations for their dorm. Rarity of course wanted to buy every cute thing to be seen in the stores but Applejack had to hold her back.
“Now come on Rarity you know we can't be spending all our money on um these cashmere carpets, that you know cant even fit in our crammed space”
But reluctant Rarity just had to flicker her eyelashes and give the cute pleading face, “But Applejack look,” she held up the carpet, “Feel how smooth it is, we have to get it”
Yet Applejack was not falling for her tricks, she was good at that for sure. Applejack was not easy to be pleaded upon, and stood her ground, “I said no Rarity, sides we have a good carpet back anyways”
Rarity huffed and walked off, but she would not let this bring her down. But after a long day of shopping and with a bunch of bags of their purchase they waited for the bus to arrive at the bus stop. Rarity was only carrying one bag, while Applejack carried four.
Rarity felt guilty though with the amount they were each carrying, “Are you sure you don't want me to carry some, I don't mind darling”
“It's okay rarity, I don't mind, they’re not that heavy anyways.” Applejack laughed, “Sides carrying logs back at the ranch was harder than this”
The sun was starting to set now casting a hue of ranges and yellow in the city sky. The temperature was getting cooler than ever, and the chirps of crickets can be heard through the streets now.
“It's getting cooler now, I should’ve brought my fur coat with me.” Rarity started shivering as she brought her arms towards her abdomen area and wrapped them together trying to give herself warmth.
Applejack shook her head as if in a I told you so movement, “Well I’ll be who would’ve known the temperature would be colder at night” she rolled her eyes but not in a rude manner. In an instance she took off her flannel that smelledof apple cider, “Here Rarity wears this before you catch a cold, we wouldn't want that happening now would we?”
“Oh darling, that is so ever considerate of you, but I could not take it from you. You’ll catch a cold because of my mistake now,” she gently pushed back Applejack's arm that was holding her flannel out to the purple haired girl.
“Now Rarity you know I wouldn't mind, b’ sides with your outfit… How should I put this,” Applejack stared down the outfit, “its not quite up to the weather, y’know Rare’s.” This time instead of handing rarity the flannel she draped it on her shoulder, "An’s don't you dare argue with me on this either.”
They both let out a laugh at the same time, and the bus showed up right on cue too. Applejack allowed Rarity to get on first and even let her have the window seat so she could get a better view of the outfits worn out by people in the new city. Mainly so she can come up with new outfit designs for her future, upcoming runway show.
During the bus ride, rarity saw many fascinating, and glamorous outfits, “ohhh I just have so many ideas now,” she immediately started to envision her new fashion line. The colors and that glitter she would add to each design, oh how she was so excited already.
“Well I bet this new idea of yours will cost around $1000?” Applejack gave her a skeptical look with one of her eyebrows arched up, “you know that means you best be saving up money now right, instead of buying these useless gadgets.” Applejack held up spoons of all shapes from one of their bags.
“Darling, you just don't understand the proper usage of these spoons like I do dear,” Rarity flaunted her hair a bit as some of her hair flew onto the blond one's face.
“Whatever you says Rare’s,” Applejack smiled to herself scoffing and shaking her head.
When they finally got back to the dorm, the others were asleep now, or maybe going out to parties already testing out college life. Well maybe Fluttershy and Twilight stayed back for that night to do who knows what they are doing.
As they got to their dorm they each got prepared to rest for the night. Rarity was doing their skincare in the restroom making sure to get rid of our pores on their faces. Besides, they loved their spa treatment every once in a while. Once completed Rarity got to her bed as she yawned and put on her sleeping mask, ”Mmm good night darling”
“Night Rare’s,” Applejack turned off the light for them, and then she laid on her bed.
