It was just a normal day for Char. She was working in the baby room with Winter, not all the babies were in yet and quite a few were out with the flu so for what it's worth, it was peaceful.
However the abnormal part of her day was seeing Mia rushing to the staff room looking rather unhappy.
Charlotte immediately turned to Winter, "hey winter??" she spoke quickly.
"Yes Charlotte?" He responded.
"Do you think you'll be alright for a moment? You're in ratio and plus you have Chloe. I just want to check on Mia quickly."
"Sure, I'll manage......" Winter didn't even get to finish his sentence because Charlotte immediately started to leave. "But just checking no kissing!"
Charlotte managed to side eye Winter before rushing off to the staff room looking for Mia, however she peeked toward the office noticing Roger talking to Marjorie.
As Charlotte opened the staff room door she immediately heard Mia's cries. She hated what Roger did to Mia, she never deserved that.
Mia jumped slightly at the creak of the door, she didn't think anyone noticed her but when she turned to see Charlotte... all her fears disappeared.
"Baby come here" Charlotte said walking over and immediately pulling Mia into her arms, letting Mia bury herself in her chest as she cried.
They sat like that for a few minutes, Charlotte whispering cute things into Mia's ear as she rubbed her back. "I love you." "It's okay" "you're better than he will ever be." "I love you baby"
As Mia relaxed she just stayed in Charlotte's arms, she didn't want to leave the comfort of Charlotte even if she knew they both had to eventually.
When the time came Charlotte kissed Mia's forehead before pulling back slightly but not letting go. "Are you alright baby?"
Mia looked up, mumbling a reply. "Now I am sweetheart, thank you.. you didn't have to"
Charlotte softly smiled, "I wanted to."
Mia smiled softly. "I love you."
"I love you too." Charlotte responded.
