Meira wokes up at the sound of the alarm she groans in annoyance at the alarm clock ringing her body forces to get up even though her soul is not ready she turns off the alarm clock and get off the bed her moves still sluggish as she opens the curtains her eyes were blindly by the scorching hot sun, then she realize. She quickly moves to the clock seeing the time it was 7 : 15 am 'oh no I'm late WHY DID MY PARENT NOT WAKE ME UP!!' she quickly go to the bathroom and take a 5 minute shower, barely brush her teeth some of the toothpaste still on her lips as she puts on her clothes, she ran downstairs,looked at the kitchen confused her mom wasn't there 'well maybe she went to the farmers market?' she thought then she snaps back to reality 'SCHOOL!' she ran out the door,almost forgets to lock the door. 'but how am I going to get to school? My father's at work the bus already left,oh god maybe it's not that worth it' she sighs and walk to the front door but something it her snap 'math..the math test!' she has to go not, she does not have any sort of transportation so she ran as hard as she can 'it was not that far away only a kilometer' she thought. After about 20 minutes or so she arriving panting as sweat drips down her head to her neck she breathes heavily, after about five minutes she finally catches her breath but she couldn't get past the front gate without getting caught by the school guard, so she decided to sneak climbing the wall,as she reaches the top she suddenly loses her balance and she drops he back hitting the grass hard, "ouch! Darn" but she knows she couldn't was anymore time and walk even though she's still in pain,she sneaks through the hallway hoping no teachers were roaming around, finally she reaches her math class the teacher was not there but everybody is already take the test so she quietly opens the door so not to catch anyone's attention,only to be betrayed by her untied shoe lace,her face meeting together with the floor echoing through the silent class, everyone looked at her,her face turned red like cherry she doesn't know what hurts more her face or her dignity 'oh my god i just want the floor to swallow my to the abbys' but she gather up the courage to get up as she walks to grab the test papers and sit on an empty seat, thankfully everybody mind their own business again,
10:00 AM, lunch
The blue haired girl laugh while snorting as she slaps her hand to the cafeteria table she doesn't care if other people were judging her she couldn't help hearing Meira's story. "God how can someone be so clumsy yet so smart?" She said still giggling.
"See! This is why I' didn't wanna tell you Sophie!" Meira said her ears were turning red. "Oh but aren't i right Leah?" Sophie nudges the girl beside her.
"So pathetic how.. pathetic" the blonde girl said
Meira widened her eyes "You too Leah?! Oh you guys hate me!" She yelled. And continue blabbering nonsense for about 6 minutes but we're quickly shoved a spoonful of food into her mouth by the black haired girl "shut up already you blabber head" said selene.
Meira was about to snap back at selene when a deafening crash of shattering glass echoed through the cafeteria. The laughter died instantly. A student burst through the main doors, his varsity jacket shredded and a jagged, dark stain spreading across his shoulder.
"Run! Get out of the building!" he screamed, collapsing before he could reach the nearest table.
Behind him, figures emerged from the hallway. Their movements were jerky, as if their limbs were being pulled by invisible, clumsy wires. Their skin was green like vomit, makes you wanna puke when you look at it and their eyes were red as blood their eyes looks like they were about to burst. Sophie’s blue hair seemed to stand on end her face went as pale as a sheet.
"Meira... what is that?" Sophie whispered, her voice trembling.
"I don't know, but we're not staying to find out!" Meira shouted. The pain in her face and her bruised dignity from earlier were replaced by a surge of pure adrenaline.
The creatures began to swarm the cafeteria tables. Selene, always the most composed, grabbed a heavy metal tray and used it to swat away a creature that lunged at them.
"Stop staring! To the kitchen back exit!" Selene commanded, her voice cutting through the rising screams of hundreds of students.
The four girls sprinted across the room, leaping over overturned chairs. Meira almost tripped again because of her loose shoelaces, but this time she caught herself on a table edg toe. They burst through the swinging kitchen doors, finding Marcus a student worker, holding a serrated bread knife with white-knuckled hands.
"Marcus, come with us!" Leah yelled.
"The main gates are locked," Marcus panted, his eyes wide with terror. "The security guards... they were the first to go. We're trapped on campus."
They managed to slip out of the kitchen and into the secondary corridor. Meira paused, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Even in a crisis, her mathematical brain began to map out the school building like a complex geometric grid but before she can say anything.
"We can't stay on the ground floor; there’s too much glass," Leah said, pointing toward the floor-to-ceiling windows of the lobby. "We need to get to the third floor, specifically the chemistry lab. The doors are reinforced steel, and we have access to chemicals for fire or distractions."
"How? The main staircase is a mosh pit of those... things," marcus said, looking toward the screams echoing from the central atrium.
"The service stairs behind the gymnasium," Meira replied firmly. "It's an extra two-hundred-meter dash, but the line of sight is blocked. We can make it if we move now."
They ran in silence, passing classrooms that were now eerily empty. Meira caught a glimpse of her math classroom through a glass partition. The test papers she had worked so hard to reach were scattered on the floor, trampled by bloody footprints. It was a bitter irony; she had sprinted a kilometer just to make it to a test, and now she was sprinting for her life.
As they reached the service stairs, a creature lunged from a darkened doorway. Sophie let out a sharp yelp, but Meira didn't hesitate. She swung her heavy backpack, filled with thick textbooks, directly into the creature's chest, knocking it back long enough for them to scramble through the door.
They reached the third floor and slammed the heavy service door shut, bolting it with a stray mop handle. In the sudden, heavy silence of the upper corridor, Meira finally knelt for three seconds to tie her shoelaces into double knots. She wasn't going to die dumb okay?
"Listen," leah said, looking at her friends. "The lab is fifty meters away. There are three of them in the hallway between us and the door. If we use a synchronized formation, we can break through."
"I disagree" said Meria "we can just go straight to the rooftop and wait for help!"
Selene smacks her lips annoyed "you think someone's going to help us? how can you be so sure?"
marcus nods agreeing with Selene " I also think it's more safe to stay in the lab rather being in the rooftop"
"I actually agree with Meira" said Sophie
"seriously?" Leah said with disdain,Marcus and selene face seems to agree with Leah.
"I'm not changing my mind" Meria replied
Leah added " So am I" "uhm.. so what should we do" Sophie said nervously twiddling her fingers.
"Split". everybody turns the direction in to where the voice come from,it was Marcus "what?", "we should split if none of us wants to compromise". Sophie said in a panick high tone "But-t That's a bad idea!" "I mean Meira, Selene,Leah you guys also thinks that's a bad idea right?", They didn't answer.
"Well do you have any other ideas?" said Marcus. Sophie didn't answer him cause she has no idea. "then it's settled we split." said Selene ignoring the look at Meira saddened eyes looks like tears were coming out her eyes. "F-ine let's split" her words were stammering.
no one said anything again and they just started walking in the opposite direction.
Selene, Leah, and Marcus walk straight forward,while Meira and Sophie took Left.
thud thud that was the only sound filled the silence Meira and Sophie didn't talk at all while walking through the stairs.
After 20 minutes or So the finally reached the rooftop there was a call phone embedded to the wall, Meira dialed the emergency number but the calls were unanswered Meira called again someone answer well not exactly it was a bot. "sorry the emergency line is packed an cannot answer your call right now" Sophie "Shoot! what should we do now?!" Meira "okay just calm down okay let's just wait for a few minutes",but her tone was also unsure she didn't know how long they're going to wait. as Meira was. deep in though it's was suddenly stops when Sophie squealed "A helicopter WERE SAVED MERIA." She shook Meira in excitement. 'thats weird' Meira thought. but her doubts were shook when the helicopter land and the pilot which she can see was human 'thank God' the pilot speaks "you guys okay ? come on the helicopter made a lot of noise the zombie is probably running towards the top let's go get in". Sophie runs getting in to the helicopter. before she steps in she looks at Meira "come on ra !" Meira heard the zombies thuds they were getting close so she shooks her doubts an got in the helicopter. as they began took off the rooftop door war Burt's open with zombie walking 'Im glad I' made the right choice' Meira thought her smile was creeping back but she turns to look at Sophie with horror on her face. Meira was about to asked her what's wrong but Sophie points to the zombie crow,Meira realize the accessories blonde haired,and besides the zombie girl were black haired wore glasses. it was their friends.tears flows dripping down her face.
Sophie was basically sobbing. "its happens I mean in a place like this not everyone could survive" the stranger seems was trying to comfort them. but it just made Sophie sobs even harder. "thank you for trying to comfort us" her voice hoarse.
after 1 hour Meira was feeling sleepy she look at Sophie already deep in sleep in her shoulder because of the crying, the co pilot notice "it's okay you guys can take a rest we will wake you up". Meira didn't want to but her body was tired so she gave up and feel asleep. she accidentally woke up because of the whispering she looks at the pilot an co pilot but it feels like there were something wrong with them like something uncanny. when she can feels stare at them she shuts her eyes pretending to sleep. pilot "you think they woke up" "hmm... i don't think so". there were something wrong with their voice it's was like something trying to mimic a human voice. Meira opens one eye open to see where were they.forest like there were only trees around them her eyebrows furrow in confused. 'why were they so deep in the forest?' she shuts her eyes closed again when she can feel they're landing. 'they are definitely not human but they're not humans...but what were they?' the helicopter lands. waking up Sophie and Meira pretended to wake up too.now she was sure of it. because when Sophie and Meira turn to look at them their fingers were long not so long but long enough to not look like human. their pupils were wrong,she doesn't know how to explain it but it was wrong.
she look at Sophie to look if she noticed,and she definitely did. the pilot took a step forward,and they both flinch to hard, the pilot grins " oh you guys knew already well it's to late now.you can't really escape can't you?" the co-pilot laughs terrifyingly.
Sophie were trembling,tears forming in her red puffy eyes. 'god.what should i do' Meira thought because if they run they were so deep in the forest if they didn't get killed by zombie's they were probably going to get killed by animal. Meira put her hand in her pocket there were still her pocket knife,it might not been much. she look at Sophie signaling her to run after she attacks them Sophie nodded. Meira took out the pocket knife. the monster laugh like that pocket knife were an insult to them. "alright then,sure let's fight" he says the last words mockingly, Sophie ran out the helicopter.followed by Meira, when the monster launched pinning her to the ground while the other one ran at Sophie. she stabs the monster neck but the monster didn't yelp,or even let out a groan like that knife didn't did anything.the monster took a chomp on her neck, she yelped as the monster took bites and chewing it slowly making it more hurtfull,she gave upnot even trying to push the monster anymore 'i can't believe I'm dying' she thought but then.the monster stops and then collapsed foam rising in the monster mouth their bodies that were green turn itu pale blue. what happened?! before she could process it she heard screams 'Sophie!' she pushed the body and ran to the scream direction but she was to late the monster already eaten half if Sophie's arm the monster turned to Meira confused then Sophie suddenly let out a loud scream.Meira looked in horror as Sophie's skin turn green her eyes were fully red,then Sophie launch at her ,Meira was stunned not even letting out a fifth but when Sophie took aa drinking some of Meira's blood her skin turned pale blue then she collapsed Meira watched stunned so the monster that were watching them "what did you do" the monster spoke. then continued "how are you not turning already..", Meira ran launched herself into the monster holding it's mouth open dripping her blood making the monster drink it,then it happens again foams in the monster's mouth green skin turned blue.
"What is wrong with me!?" she just stood there not knowing what to do. was she immortal? but how could she have killed them thoughts running in her she snapped "I could save the world",with the new determination she took some equipments from the monster, buried and prayed to her friend corpse and for the next week she tries to learn how to fly the helicopter hunted animals with her new weapon finally after 10 days she was ready to roam to world to save other survivors,but can she really save the word well she will try her best and maybe save the world.
A figure chuckles darkly then paused "hmm..Can she really? what do you think reader?" the mysterious figure grins mockingly.
Meira sneezed "hachuu..! ugh is someone talking about me?....but my friends are dead..whatever, I hate it why do I feel someone's staring at me...".
