Toby didn't know what to make of Mira.
The Operator had been sending them on missions together, apart from their first encounter he hadn't really met her before hand.
She was pretty, she was nice too, she complimented the gash in his cheek their first meeting. That stood out to him, the memory lingered in his mind for weeks to come.
But she was also rather... Bizarre. She was always eyeing him, looking him up and down while he chopped up some random, her eyes scanning his arms as he swung his hatchets.
Her behavior stuck out to him, she was often erratic at times her mood changing rapidly, her energy seemed endless as she was always hyper around him, even for Toby it was alot.
Then there was the teeth.
She had some odd fascination with teeth, it was to a point where she carried of jar of teeth in her purse, always plucking the most unique molars and canines from her victims mouth once she was done with them.
Toby assumed that's why Mira liked the hole in his face so much, her eyes always focused on the gash in his cheek as he chewed or talked.
Her behavior with him bordered on fangirling, she always took pictures with him, with a camera or her flip phone.
He gave her something once, it was a blue crystal; lapis lazuli that he found on a victim, it matched her eyes so he gave it to her.
Now she had that crystal on a necklace she never took off.
The weirdest thing she'd done, was she picked up his tooth that got knocked out by a victim, she asked if she could keep it. Her eyes lit up as she held the blood molar, he couldn't say no.
Pushing her odd behavior aside, she was nice company.
Leaves crunched under her converse as they walked through the woods. Her makeup was done per usual and her hair was pulled into a side ponytail. Her yellow tank top hung low on her chest, a thin black hoodie covering her forearms as it fell off her shoulders.
Toby looked over at her, his breath hitched as the moonlight illuminated her features. She looked enchanting.
Mira waved her hands around as she loudly talked about whatever topic she'd landed on this time, occasionally bumping into Toby as they walked down the path to Mira's trailer.
He never let her walk home by herself, not that she wasn't capable of defending herself, in all honesty he just liked hearing her talk.
Her voice was deep, monotone with a notable southern drawl, sometimes a valley girl accent slipped through. She talked erratically, jumping to subject from subject and interrupting herself every few minutes.
Her voice was nice, soothing in a way, he found himself enraptured with her voice everytime her lips parted.
Something about her speech patterns drew him in, he wouldn't be able to stop listening even if he wanted to.
"And then Shredder KILLS MASTER SPLINTER!! And the turtles- they have to go TO SPACE-!" She exclaimed, waving her hands around to accentuate her story.
Toby smiled as she continued, they were getting closer to her trailer to the point you could see it in the distance.
Mira was still ranting, and Toby just listened. He took in every word that fell from her mouth, saving every detail in the confines of his mind.
He'd never listened to someone so intently, he remembered everything she was saying, no matter how minuscule.
It was weird, he knew that, he just didn't know why he listened to her so intently.
He hadn't even realized how close they got to her trailer, until her ranting stopped.
"Well this is it. Thank ya' for walkin' me." She said, turning to him with a sweet smile. The way she looked at him was startling, adoration and thinly veiled lust swam in her ocean eyes.
Toby smiled shyly back at her, "oh o-of course... I-it wouldn't be gentlemanly of me t-t-to let ya w-walk by yourself..." He grimaced at his stutter, it was always worse around her.
Her smile didn't falter, "you did great on the mission, Toby." She said, patting his shoulder. Her hand dragging down his bicep before her hand left his skin.
She stepped up onto the porch, "I'll see ya'..." She said, opening the door and slipping inside, she waved at Toby as she began shutting the door.
"BYE!" He shouted, trying to tell her before she shut the door not meaning to be so loud, she just giggled. "Bye!" She said, waving once again and shutting the door.
Toby just stood outside her house for a while, staring at the now closed door. His heart was pounding, his face felt warm and he felt something bloom in his chest.
He sighed, not sure of what he was feeling, he turned on his heel leaving to go to his house.
Mira lingered in his mind for the rest of the day, her words and conversations replaying in his mind like a broken record.
Her face was ingrained in his memory.
So much so he saw her in his dreams that night.
He was in a clearing, flowers of various colors surrounding him, the moon was bright beaming down and illuminating all the flowers making them glow in the moon light.
He looked around, and saw that familiar head of magenta hair. He made his way to her, crossing over the flowers quickly to get to her.
"Mira?" He called out to her, she turned around looking at him like she always did. "Hi Toby." She said, her voice silky and enchanting.
His mouth went dry hearing her say his name like that.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, curious as the why she was in a field. Her hands trailed up his arms, fingers brushing against his freckles and scars leaving goosebumps in her wake.
They rested on his shoulder, she looked up at him with the biggest doe eyes ever. "I'm here because of this." She whispered, her voice low and sultry.
Her hands flew to his face, cradling his head in her hands, and then she leaned in. Her soft lips brushed his chapped ones, her lips slotted against his so perfectly, like they were meant to be there.
Toby's eyes widened, she pulled back and her hands went to the zipper of his hoodie, slowly dragging the zipper down as she maintained eye contact.
He sat upright in bed, gasping for air, the second he realized what he just dreamt guilt immediately flooded his chest.
He brought his fingers to his lips, feeling where her lips had been only minutes before.
Toby sighed, guilt sat uncomfortably in his stomach, how could he dream of her like that?
Kissing him, she even started undressing him, he was disgusting.
"G-god, what is w-wrong with me." He said, pulling the covers back up to his chin, the dream still replaying in his mind as he drifted back off to sleep.
