Chapter Text
You're freshly out of school, and getting into college is fairly easy. What won't be, though, is handling the costs of living.
It's the year 1997.
You walk through the streets until a poster stops you in your tracks.
GARDENVIEW NEEDS YOU.
You stare, the name ringing a bell, until you realize. Gardenview! Like the show you watched when you were younger, Dandy's world, they lived in there, right!
And... you're old enough to work.
—Why am I standing when I have to rush!?

You sit nervously, leg bouncing as the man in front of you reads your resume. Arthur, he had presented himself as. He hums. —Well... you're quite young actually. I'm not sure of how good of a job you could do...
He looks hesitant, grabbing his flip phone and calling someone. In little time, the door opens. Another woman, "Delilah" as it appeared in her pin. He looks at you (you fake you haven't noticed it), communicating with her. She gets next to him, seeing the papers and humming, adjusting her glasses.
—Well, I'm not sure they're qualified... We could try one thing, though.— She leaves, coming back after a bit with a shrimp toon. Oh, no. You remember him from the cartoons. You gulp. She closes the door. —Alright. As you know, the job involves being a toon handler. So far, we haven't managed to find anyone to put up with him. Good luck, we'll be watching.
They both leave, leaving you alone with Shrimpo. You look at him nervously.
He glares at you, way too silent.
—Hi..?— You wave nervously. —I HATE HOW NERVOUS YOU ARE.— You look at him silently. —I HATE SILENCE.— You sigh. Oh god. Nevermind, you can walk out now and be a cashier at some crappy supermarket better.
But even so, getting to work here is your childhood dream! Plus, the actor is just acting, because there's no way they're actually real...
Right..?
