It was barely winter, but school had already been out for the year.
Most people didn't live at the school, they had homes, places to be. On the other hand, orion and Alice lived at the school. Both roughly being 12-13 at this point. Having only known eachother for almost a year.
Orion wakes up, checks the clock next to his bed. 7am, that's early for him.
He yawns and hurries out of bed, still in his pajamas.
He has his morning tea, he's had this weird little routine since he was little. Or atleast he thinks he has.
He wakes up, checks the clock, has his tea. Everything else seems to just come second to those things. He enjoys them, he enjoys the tea.
He notices mock is in the living room, he walks over.
" hey mock! " he looks at him, and notices he's staring at the window. He looks over to it and almost jumps.
" why is atlas outside, Playing in the snow, in a little scarf... also its snowing!? "
Mock hums " not exactly sure. I tried to get him in but i believe hes having his fun." Right, they dont get snow that often. "but you should probably get him before he freezes to death. " mock adds
Orion nods and heads back to his room, and looks through his cabinets. Wait.. did something move? Out of the corner of his eye.. Alice?? Wearing her trademark massive scarf. She always wears warm clothes even when it's blazing, weird.
" wha- what are you doing sitting on my windowsill !? "
" learnt it from atlas. "
Right why does he do that? Orion thinks
" mhm.. so you wanna go play in the snow? " orion says
" OBVIOUSLY! I love the snow! " alice responds, orion shrugs
" its okay I guess, I like the snowmen."
" yeah, now get dressed! I wanna play! "
Orion nods and picks up a scarf, hoodie and some loose trousers.

" atlas! " orion shouts, atlas stares at him for a moment. Atlas walks, rather floats over to him. Orion can't understand him, he's mute 99% of the time. But atlas lays his hand on him. Then bolts it, orion can't hear him speak but understands perfectly.
" HEY YOU LITTLE BRAT! GET BACK HERE! "
Alice notices orion outside " hey orio- " orion abruptly flies toward atlas.
Alice hums, and follows along, Alice is a faster flier than orion. So she catches up relatively fast.
" WHY ARE YOU FLYING ORION!? "
" ATLAS TAGGED ME! I NEED TO GET HIM BACK! " Alice giggles and comes up with an idea
" Tag me! I can catch up to him "
" gasp you'd do that for me!? "
" what are friends for other than helping friends catch stars?"
Orion tags Alice, and she flies away toward atlas once again as orion watches giggling and cheering her on
Atlases inner monologue at this point is " haha orion can't catch me! Is that Alice? OH SHOOT OH SHI- "
" TAG! " Alice giggles
Atlas crosses his arms and looks away.
Orion catches up and says " is too fair! "
Alice looks a little confused " how do you understand him? I heard him speak maybe once and he only speaks celestial? I mean I speak that but you only understand it in writing? "
Orion shrugs " intuition? I've known him for almost all my life. He's like an annoying little brother you can't help but kinda like! " orion pinches Atlases 'cheeks'? Whatever they are, atlas shuffles away and crosses his arms and looks away.
At this point Alice and atlas both notice something flying toward them. Orion is oblivious.
" HEY HERE! " A tiefling shouts. She flies very badly, seeming to be struggling with her balance. She's holding a snowball.
She throws it straight in Alice's face, she wipes it off
" HEY WHO DO YOU THINK YOU A- " Alice is stopped by orion " hey calm it miss screamsalot! "
Orion flies over to the tiefling " hey! What's your name? "
She looks confused " demonika, or just monika, what's it to you ?"
Orion makes a 'mmhm' sound " and why did you throw that at my friend here? "
" she's an angel! "
" fallen! " Alice corrects
" yeah whatever, demons and angels hate eachother! I'm a demon she's an angel! "
" well, I don't think that means much, that's just society.. we can still be friends! " orion smiles
And holds out his hand for a handshake.
" urgh, she just threw a snowball at my face! " Alice pipes up
" sorry.. " monika grumbles
Alice's expression softens a little " hmph, we can be friends.. I guess "
Monika grabs orions hand and shakes it
" wanna have a snowball fight? " monika asks
" sure moni! " orion responds
Atlas and Alice nod
" moni? " moni says
" I dunno, it fits. " Alice says, atlas nods.

As they're walking to a place they deem good for the snowball fight, orion asks.
" moni, how come we haven't seen you around much before? I mean I think I've seen you once maybe.. "
She shrugs " I do live on campus, but it's in a smaller sector. I don't like talking to people much , they think I'm weird. "
Alice speaks " well, you're the least weird one here if you think about it. "
Moni looks down and smiles a bit " I don't think you guys are weird. "
Atlas holds out a sign that says ' orion is the most weird '
Alice nods " yeah, you're missing an eye! I'd say that's pretty weird. "
Moni looks in shock " wait really? I thought it was just a style thing! "
" yup! It got gouged out. " orion and atlas shiver at the same time " the creepiest thing is I don't even remember how! Maybe I was born without it? " he shrugs
Moni points " ooh! This is a good spot! I pick Alice for my team! "
Orion says " that leaves me and atlas! Okay bud.. do yer best ! " atlas nods. And seems to almost.. burn?
Moni gulps and takes up a snowball, so does Alice and orion. Atlas takes two, he's taking this really seriously.
Moni aims at atlas, he dodges.
Alice aims at orion, he ducks.
Orion aims at moni, she moves.
Atlas flies behind them, so fast it's almost like he's teleporting?
He aims at both of them, snowballs in hand. They don't see it coming.
" OWUHH! " moni shouts
" That's not fair! " Alice objects
Atlas Mocks Alice, using his hands and mouthing 'ThAtS not FaIr'
" don't be mean atlas! But yeah sorry there wasn't any rule against.. whatever he did "
Moni crosses her arms and Alice rolls her eyes.
Orion frowns a bit, but comes up with an idea. " wanna go to my house for lunch? "
Moni and Alice nodded, atlas seemed excited. He likes Mocks cooking a lot.

" Hey mock! " orion shouts
Mock is washing up in the kitchen " oh hey orion, atlas.. Alice, oh? Who's this? "
" That's moni! " Alice responds
" yeah, she threw a snowball at Alice and we became friends! " orion adds, mock looks a little concerned and confused but doesn't question it.
" can we have lunch? " orion asks
Mock nods " I'll make some spaghetti, why don't you go warm up in the living room? I set up the fireplace. "
Orion says " YAY! Can we have marshmallows? Please? " atlas and orion both look at him pleadingly
Moni and Alice look at eachother, moni looks confused and Alice just shrugs.
" I suppose. Not too many, you both get odd when you have a lot of sugar. "
Atlas throws his hands in the air then Orion and atlas giggle to eachother
" why are you so happy about marshmallows?"
Moni asks
Atlas looks a little offended and shocked, though he was exaggerating it.
Orion answers " it's been a tradition for me and atlas to have marshmallow roasting competitions whenever it snows. He wins most of the time.. but im getting better! "
Alice and moni say " ohhhh! " almost in unison
Orion adds " also, we might get hot chocolate too! "
Atlas grins and giggles deviously
Orion sat onto the sofa, atlas blinked at him with wide eyes, orion rolled his eye and scratched his 'chin'(?). Atlas purred and moni and Alice laughed at that.
Atlas fell asleep for a bit, moni asked " Why's Atlas mean sometimes? "
Orion looked offended " no he isn't! He's just a bit silly, and sassy. "
Alice shrugs " I like Atlas. He doesn't mean to be mean, I think. "
Orion nods
Mock shouts " okay I've got your marshmallows and hot chocolate! " mock smiles fondly.
Orion shakes Atlas awake, atlas looks annoyed until he realises why.
" I'm gonna win this time atlas! " orion declares
Atlas laughs and shakes his 'head'
Alice and moni join in, pushing over the fire to make the best one. Orion almost wins, but Atlases is slightly more golden and tastes better
" gosh darn it! " orion says , atlas holds out a sign that says " you came real close you sure did"
Orion grumbles and sips his hot chocolate " honestly how does he do that? "
Atlas stares at him and grins smugly
" 'GET GOOD'!? GET GOOD!?! YOU LITTLE- "
Orion jumps at atlas but atlas is able to dodge by flying behind orion.
" Jesus orion chill! " moni calms " he's just a smug star. " she adds
Orion makes a 'hmph!' Noise before mock calls into the living room " the spaghetti is finished, we have cheese and I made some sauce and garlic bread. Pick as you please. "
They all giggle and head to the kitchen
Orion has cheese and garlic bread. Alice has cheese and sauce. Moni has just sauce (and some random spices she found. ) and atlas just dumps any food he can find onto the spaghetti and eats everything, including the plate... that is until he spits the plate back up, clean as if nothing touches it in the first place.
Moni says "eww!" But Alice and orion are used to it by then.
They all sit in the living room, eating and playing till sundown.
