Clock groaned tiredly, flopping herself face first onto a floating bed in the sky. Today felt like such a long day and the hour just started.
It was her birthday. And no one knew. Clock always loved her birthday. She loves to wake up in the morning to gifts and people celebrating her and telling her how amazing she is. Willingly spending time with her and playing games.
At least, she likes the idea of if. Honestly, she can even remember when the last time she celebrated her birthday was. But she knows she likes it. The thought of it brings her joy.
Not now though. No one knew. Everyone forgot. No one knows it’s her birthday. How is she supposed to feel happy when no one cared.
She needed a nap. All the contestants were doing a challenge FOR her birthday.
She curled up in herself on the bed, covering her face with her forearms. Tears streamed down her face while she tried to hold in her cries. She cried enough today. And she never really liked crying in front of others.
Suddenly, she felt a weight being added to the bed next to her. She didn’t move. Kept herself in that same position. She stayed like this for a few minutes until she felt a hand make contact with her head. The hand strokes through her hair gently and comfortingly.
The feeling of being let and comforted like this. It made her feel so much better. She lift led her teary eyes to see who the mystery person was. It was another girl with black hair, white skin, and black dots all over her face. Someone she knew too well.
Dice.
Dice was someone Clock had made herself when she first started the show. It was already stressing her enough when she started so she made herself a little objectlien to comfort her.
Though, the two of them had gotten very close with each other. None of the contestants know about her. Clock keeps her hidden. She doesn’t mind it. Her sole purpose is to care about Clock and Clock only anyways.
Clock couldn’t help but feel like there was something familiar about her. Her figure and her voice. The way she held her and gave her small pecks and kisses. Felt like someone she knew before. She shook those thoughts away.
She smiled and moved herself closer to her. Dice got the message and lifted her softly to wrap her in a tight embrace. Clock buried her face into her girlfriend’s chest, letting herself cry and sob into her shirt.
Dice caressed the top her of head, gently undoing all the knots in her hair. “Oh Love. It’s okay.” She whispered softly, kissing the top of her head and each of her little bells.
Clock leaned into her touch, gripping onto her shirt as tightly as she could. “You always come at the best times.” She mumbles through her cries with a small laugh.
Dice laughs as well and rests her chin on top of Clock’s head. “It’s what I’m here for.” Clock grabbed her hand and interlocked their fingers, holding her hand.
They sat like these for a few minutes, Clock’s cries dying down until it was just a comfortable silence between them two. “How are you feeling now?” Dice asked in a soft and calm voice.
Clock hummed and pulled away, rubbing one of her eyes. They were both sitting on their knees with one of their hands holding onto the other. “Better.” Clock sniffled, not making any eye contact. Her gaze was more focused on their interlocked hands. “Thank you, Jayden.”
Dice raised a brow. Clock quickly realized what she said and covered her mouth. Jayden. Who is Jayden? Why does it feel so familiar? Why did it feel so normal to say?
“Dice.” She corrected herself. “I mean Dice…sorry.” She let go of their hands, despite not wanting to. She scooted back and sat with her knees pressing against her chest.
Dice only stared. The name felt like something to her as well. But she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. “Here. I got you something,” she said, reaching out under the bed like there was anything under there that was pure air and clouds. Mainly to change the subject and lift the mood.
It seemed to work as Clock perked up energetically. Her sad and depressed expression immediately switched to an excited and happy one. Dice pulled out a small box and placed it in between the both of them.
Clock clasped her hand together and cooed. “AWWWW A GIFT!? FOR ME!? OH YOU!” She yelled out before grabbing the gift and ripping it open.
Dice smiled as she watched her open her gift. She was happy to see how quickly her sadness and can change to happiness. “It’s not much, but I made it myself.”
Clock pulled out a small bow tie from the box. It was a cyan color, close to hers, with colorful polka dots all over it. Close stared at it, observing it for a while, before smiling widely with big dark cyan cheeks.
She through her arms around Dice happily with her plug-tail wagging back and forth. “ILOVEITILOVEITILOVEITILOVEIT!!!” She screamed. She would be jumping up and down if she weren’t on her knees. “IM GONNA WEAR THIS EVERY CHALLENGE AND ELIMINATION!! THANK YOU SO MUCH AHHHHH!!”
Dice hugged her back tightly with a wide smile of her own. She laughed every time Clock’s tail swung back and forth and hit against the bed. “Of course! Anything for you!”
Clock warmed up more from that and burried her face in her neck. She pulled away, almost immediately growing tired again. She put the bow back in the box and placed it on the floating alarm next to the bed. “Welp I’m tired again.” She looked to Dice with pleading eyes. “Do you think you could stay maybe? And lay down with me maybe? And possibly cuddle me maybe?”
Dice chuckled and leaned back in the bed and getting under the covers. Clock crawled over to her quickly and joined her under the sheets. Dice wrapped her in a big spoon and Clock hugged her torso.
They both had their eyes close with a smile, lying in a comfortable silence. Until Dice said one more thing before falling asleep.
“Happy Birthday, Lucas.”
