Chapter Text
Kokomi Teruhashi was the perfect pretty girl.
Perfect pretty girls, though there wasn't any girl as beautiful as Teruhashi, couldn't just be stunning on the outside but on the inside too!
It's why everyone adored her. She was the star of any room, the light in everyone's life. The apple of everyone's watching eyes~!
(...constantly.)
Why, she was God's favourite! A gift from God, like a angel reborn to bless the earth with her kindness, beauty, and integrity!
Kokomi wasn't just like angel, she was the angel. There was never a place where eyes weren't on her at all times~!
(...even her own bedroom.)
Nevermind that, that wasn't why she was puzzled. Why was this happening to her? God loved her. Why was he letting this happen?
That question rippled in her mind as she glared at the vividly pink petal glittering idly - sticking out like a sore thumb inside the pearly porcelain sink.
Blood.
Her own blood. No wonder the stupid petal stood out so beautifully, it was stained with her own blood, of course it shared the same golden glow she did, even pulsating in rhythm with the thumping of her heart.
Teruhashi's gentle smile cracked painfully. She hated this; hated how her silky blue hair looked slightly frazzled in the mirror, hated how her mesmerizing eyes that turned both genders into pathetic mush stung with tears, hated how her throat felt scrubbed red and raw.
Most of all she hated the colour of the petal in the sink.
That specific shade of pink.
It was mocking her - how dare it mock her! Mocking the Kokomi Teruhashi with that godforsaken shade of pink. Mocking her was Number 22 on the long list of stuff nobody would dream of doing to her. It enraged her, that pink. Of course it was the same as his hair.
He wasn't special, pink hair was mind-numbingly average in the world. But, it was his pink.
Kusuo Saiki's pink.
Originally, she was just flabbergasted, even a little intrigued. A boy, who didn't stumble over himself (and his words) over her? A boy who didn't instinctively go "Oh wow." when he was blessed with her face? A boy...who didn't like her romantically...!?
It was like she was a child, seeing a animal at the zoo for the first time in their life.
It was then her mission to make that irritating prick go "Oh wow." like he rightfully should!
Now, as she stared at the ruin coating her sink, she understood her plan backfired incredibly.
For the first time in her majestic life, Teruhashi was humbled. It had been almost a year since she met him, and...he really hasn't shown even a drop of interest in her. Infact, he looks at her with that same blank stare he gives everyone else, which, to her, is the worst insult she has ever (indirectly) received! Looking at her like she was something he stepped in, how dare he...!
Yet, she never expected her plan to backfire so horribly. Why would she? If it wasn't mentioned before, she was the Kokomi Teruhashi! Her plans- some thought out, some in the spur of the moment due to the incompetent fools that surrounded her, had always worked. Worked better then they needed to.
So, why was she in love with Saiki?
Moreover, why was it unrequited?
Teruhashi felt the flowers coil around in her lungs, and she bent over the sink again, a wet, hacking cough exploding out of her. It was such a unsightly sound, one someone as lovely as her should never make.
Yet, the new petal in her sink was proof she made it anyway. What a disgusting noise. She hated it. She hated him!
Kusuo Saiki. She wanted to blame him so badly, but everytime she pictured his face in her mind, her heart clenched, her lungs collapsed into itself and then a third pink petal joined the first two.
She hated how it was so painful, yet so pretty at the same time. Stupid Saiki. Stupid everything!
Because of him, she was now coughing up petals like a sad loser in her bathroom. Because of him, she felt ditzy and warm and other feelings. Because of him, the world's most angelic girl was facing something she would have never expected.
Unrequited love.
Another petal wrenched itself from her throat and joined the others. Though her view was blurred with tears, Teruhashi could vaguely decipher what species the flower was.
Cosmos.
How beautiful.
Teruhashi tried to compose herself. What if someone saw her like this, bent over her sink and coughing like a weakened old hag!?
It was truly pathetic, and ironic too. Now that she thought about it a little more, it was almost poetic.
Kokomi Teruhashi, dying to unrequited love.
She shook her head, trying to clear out her vision. This was bad. If she was caught coughing up flowers...
Who knows what could happen!?
Her reputation would be in shambles. World War Three would break out - she has a crush and he doesn't love her back. Unfathomable.
A weird feeling jolted in her chest. She didn't want to die, there was so much of the world she needed to bless with her presence, not just Japan!
...She wouldn't die, right?
God loved her. He wouldn't let that happen. Her aura flickered back to life, and she sent herself a shaky smile in the fogged mirror.
She wouldn't die. That's right.
Teruhashi was too perfect for death.
Speaking of being perfect, she needed to clean this up. Picking up the petals from her sink, she disposed of them quickly before using a disinfectant wipe to clean the surface of the porcelain. She sighed, a angel sigh, but she wasn't in public, so men didn't flock to cure her problems with their life savings.
Not like they could fix this particular problem anyway. But, whatever. It was time to stop focusing on herself internally.
Ugh! Stupid, stupid, stupid Saiki! Damn him and his neon pink hair, ugly purple eyes...that shine under his bright green glasses-
Okay, that was enough. Time to fix herself.
Smile.
Wave.
Curtsy.
Repeat. Over and over again.
Nobody could know; nobody would know.
Because Kokomi Teruhashi was the perfect pretty girl.
