•°~{BOO!}~°`•

Sprout was enjoying his night relaxing after a hard day of working at a grocery store. He was the cashier, it wasn't the greatest job but it was enough for now. Anyway he was sitting on his couch in his living room watching tv. Sprout fiddled with the remote out of boredom. Sprout hated his house because it didn't feel like home. It was just an old rundown house. But that was the last reason he hated his place.

It was haunted! Well that's what he thinks.. he didn't know for sure but he knew he had to leave soon. At night he would wake up in a cold sweat feeling something looming over him. Yet nothing was there. Just the haunting breeze of the night.. and yes maybe Sprout was just being paranoid. However there was always a presence he could sense behind him and sometimes he swore a voice was whispering in his ear. The presence would always be quiet not necessarily because it wanted to be careful. It found Sprout spiraling hilarious. It was driving poor him insane!

Sprout was still watching the television until it became static. Which made him do a small groan. He was about to stand up when he heard a noise from a distance. It sounded like it was on a piece of glass.

'TAP, TAP'

Sprout would then put his legs closer to himself making sure that nothing could grab him from under the couch. It was something he did when he was still a child. And he never did it until he moved in here.

"Please just leave me alone for once." He spoke muttering to himself with increased panic.

He never felt this much terror before. If he had to choose between sleeping on the streets or here. He would pick the streets. He still had to sleep here unfortunately. It was the only place he could have shelter from the horrible thunder storms these days. He was trying to relax before of course he heard a creak of a door opening?! Shit. It was the bathroom door. The room was pitch black. The only source of light he had was the living room light. He didn't know if his eyes were playing tricks on him but he could see a glimpse of a figure, watching him in the dark.

Sprout breathed heavily and fast. Before saying in a very shaky voice.

"Can you please stop!?" No answer. What was he expecting?

He was tired of thinking he was going crazy, he knew that this was real. He had to get out of this terrible house one day. The silence was worse than the tapping. It felt like something was gonna happen out of nowhere. Yet it felt comforting knowing there was something with him. He hasn't gotten much social interaction except from his workplace. Oh! What was he thinking?!

Sprout had to stop this nonsense.. he was the owner. Or so he thought. Someone or something owned it before him. And now it's trying to take it back. He then decided that he had to face whatever was here. It seemed like the more scared he felt. It fed off it and the occurrences seemed to get worse and worse. So he got up slowly and stupidly turned off the light switch. The lights of course went dark since it was already late in the night there was barely any light to be seen anywhere.

"D-do something!" He was failing miserably trying to act brave. He heard a faint giggle in the distance which made him do a shaky sigh. At this point it was just annoying. The ghost seemed to find his antics funny. "Are you kidding me...?" It was now dead silent, this was really starting to piss Sprout off.

"Boo!" Suddenly the ghost popped out of nowhere. He was curly with black hair. And he was slightly transparent with a blue hue.

"AHHHHHHH!!!" Sprout screamed in terror falling on the floor. "I hate my fucking life! What is happening..?! Oh god, oh god!" He gripped his hair pulling it aggressively out of fear. "What are you even?! Why won't you leave me alone?!" He looked at the ghost that was now in front of him.

"I'm Cosmo! And this is my house so.. yeah that's why I'm here." He said with an echo in his tone smiling creepily. "Why won't YOU leave me alone?"

"What?! No, this is my house! I live here." This wasn't real, right? There was no way he was talking to a ghost right now.. then an idea popped into sprouts head!

"When did you die..?" He slowly calmed down. How odd this "Cosmo" wasn't very threatening.

Cosmo gritted his teeth before crossing his arms "I'm not dead."

"Man, I hate to break it to you but you're literally floating. And also.. if you're not a ghost why are you trying to scare me? And why are you watching me sleep do you seriously think I can't see you in my goddamm closet, Jesus!" Sprout looked up and down at the ghost looking annoyed.

"Haha! No I was just joking, I am dead." He giggled loudly. "Well now there's no point in hiding so you can see me like this now."

"Yeah, that seems a little better.. I guess?" He didn't know if he should be content or horrified.

But I guess Cosmo isn't the worst ghost.. I mean he could live with this. He would prefer to know who's making the noise instead of not knowing. Now Sprout and Cosmo were watching TV in the future. Sprout finally quit his shitty job and got a more shitty job. Cosmo was just cosmo. Turns out that the joker side of him was just a facade and he really was just a shy person before he died. He just felt so alone before and covered it up with jokes and laughter.
