Sunlight shone off the metal on the Avengers Tower, casting refracted light onto the city below. Inside the tower, the normal chaos was at a surprising minimum due to them all being exhausted and having a day off on Ross’s orders. Tony tossed a paper file onto the table with a thud. “Caps files, as requested.” The papers slid across the counter on track to falling off the edge, but were stopped by a metal arm. “Thanks,” Bucky replied, glancing at Steve, who just shrugged and turned back to his coffee and the morning paper. Bucky opened the file and began reading the papers out on the table before him. A few minutes passed in relative silence, occasionally being broken by the sounds of paper flipping and cups clinking on the table. Eventually, their lack of chaos was inevitably broken.
“YOU DID FUCKING WHAT?” Steve whipped his head around, startled, to look at Bucky, who was glaring at him. “Did what?” Steve asked, incredulous, scanning the papers, desperately trying to find what he had read. Bucky held a paper in his hand, brandishing it at Steve for a moment before reading from it. “An incident at Camp Leigh left Rogers with a mild bruised rib resulting from Rogers jumping on a training grenade thrown as a drill to test soldiers' unconscious responses.” Bucky read and set the paper down in front of Steve, crossing his arms. “Care to explain this?” Steve gave an uncomfortable laugh and a weak shrug, not really having an answer for his actions. Bucky just sighed and dragged his hands over his face in annoyance.
“I leave for one day, and you jump on a grenade and nose-dive into the Arctic.” Steve leaned over the the scattered papers, sweeping them back into the file “Okay i think that's enough snooping for today” Bucky snatched the file away from him and held it away from him “I don't think so, I know you pulled more shit than just that” Steve reached for the file knowing damn well it was true and dreading the lecture he would get but Bucky was still holding it out of his reach. “Aw, c'mon, Bucky, it wasn't that bad really…” Bucky glared and stood up from his chair, waving the file at Steve, “Bullshit! We all know what a damn menace you are.” Steve stood up too, still holding out his hand for the file. “I was not a menace! I was perfectly behaved!” Bucky just laughed. “Sure, you were. That's why you're trying to get this back so damn hard,” He teased.
