Work Text:
A wish is basically a weaker prayer, right?
A wish is something kids do, something menial. You never hear about someone praying for a toy or for a warm, freshly cooked burger.
That old man Dunning probably didn't think too much about it when he made up that story about the Wish room. Maybe it hit people more that small dumb wishes came true rather than long, drawn-out prayers.
…
After everything tonight, I wonder though…
That room, Bradley, the one you stayed in…
I can tell where you stepped, how you slept, how you cracked the window open to sneak a smoke.
I couldn't stay there long.
It's hard to breathe.
...
I wonder, although my wish didn't come true, did yours?
Is that why…
…
...
...
Goodnight, Bradley.
