Chapter 1:

The End of Maknae Days Jungkook was done waiting. For years, he had watched Namjoon lead BTS with quiet strength, had admired him from a distance while being stuck in the role of the cute, dependable maknae. But Jungkook wasn’t a boy anymore.

He was a man, and he wanted Namjoon to see him as one. No, scratch that. He wanted Namjoon to crave him. Seated in the dimly lit studio, Jungkook leaned back in his chair, watching as Namjoon scrolled through lyrics, completely unaware of the way Jungkook’s gaze burned into him. “You need something, Jungkook?” Namjoon asked without looking up. Jungkook smirked. “Yeah. You.” Namjoon finally lifted his head, blinking in confusion. “What?” Jungkook pushed off the desk, closing the distance between them.

He was done playing shy, done waiting for Namjoon to figure things out. He leaned in, close enough that Namjoon had to tilt his head up. “You always see me as your little brother,” Jungkook murmured, his voice low and sure. “That ends today.” Namjoon swallowed. “Jungkook—” Jungkook placed a hand on the armrest of Namjoon’s chair, caging him in. “You see, hyung, I’ve had a plan. I’ve decided I’m not going to wait for you to figure it out anymore.” He smirked. “I’m going to make you see me.”

Namjoon’s breath hitched, his eyes darting away, but Jungkook grabbed his chin, forcing him to meet his gaze. “No more running.” And with that, he let go, stepping back with a lazy grin. “Sleep well, hyung.” He turned and left, knowing full well Namjoon wouldn’t get a wink of sleep that night. Operation: Make Namjoon Fall in Love had begun.
