Chapter Text
A desolate gray landscape shaped by millions of years of brutal erosion, dominated by seemingly arbitrary frozen formations such as thin blades of pinnitentes and vast networks of ice volcanoes—stretched all around the dead world.
It's a world with no lifeforms other than a being that cannot rot: the nameless observer of the stars, always longing for heat to match its unyielding body. With nothing truly to call its own, the observer could only wait.
And it waited,
For many years,
Decades even,
Alas, whether centuries or millennia passed, counting the time made little difference to the observer; frigid temperatures and death seemed insignificant—if it even knew what death was—all it could do was explore what remained of its environment and the endless celestial sky, which it could not reach. Still, it found joy in simple pleasures, wandering about, noting the different geographic conditions of the area. The observer especially treasured the sensation of touch; it had many ways to stimulate its curiosity. Caressing the uneven scalloped edges, as it walked past the pitted plains where rugged bleak highlands meet. It stumbled across the rocky ice terrain seeking something new to observe, whether it be the passing lights, the multitude of stars, or an unseen part of the land. It often struggled to navigate the harsh conditions, constantly tussling with its long white hair, and its uncoordinated, wobbly movements only made things worse. However, it did have patience; it temporarily surrenders itself to the terrain for a short while to gaze at the endlessly speckled abyss above.
