After defeating the system, Qin Jiu and You Huo fell into a huge void, though they did not want to admit it. After a long and busy hustle, all they did now was lie in a hospital bed. At least they still had each other.
After the seasons had passed and they were discharged, they found a place in the military and spent the rest of their lives in this way — Chief Instructor You Huo and S Brigade Commander Qin Jiu. It was not much different from the lives they had in the system. Although they were no longer being watched 7/24 and could easily live their relationship. Sometimes, even though the tasks were separate from each other, they could always interact in some way; this doesn't mean that they didn't miss each other in the process.
Although You Huo mostly stayed in his military lodging, he also went to the house where he lived with Qin Jiu and spent time there. He only did this when Qin Jiu came home because he didn't want to be alone in that house that contained each other's assets.
After these calm years, their daily lives were turned upside down by big news. You Huo and Qin Jiu had their heat and rut at the sam time and spent together. A few months later, You Huo began to experience nausea in the morning and his appetite was closed. Seeing this version of the old Head Invigilator, which does not have a lot of appetite, Qin Jiu was quite worried and produced several theories. In the end, although there was a great doubt, he bought a pregnancy test when he came home and extended it to his husband without saying anything. His husband looked him like "What does this do with me?" or "Did you finally lose your mind?". Finally Qin Jiu made the decision to talk and opened his mouth looking into the beautiful yellow eyes of the man in front of him, "I couldn't get the idea that you might be pregnant out of my mind when I thought about the last few weeks. After all, our last cycles overlapped and we spent together. So I planned to get a definitive solution by giving you a pregnancy test.". You Huo was just listening to him and taking out a few grunts every once in a while. After Qin Jiu finished his talk, there was a little more silence and omega finally took out a grunt and said, "I'll do it". After a while he left the bathroom and the two of them opened their mouths once more while waiting for the time it took for the test to be finalized. "I know we're not thinking about a kid, but what do you plan to do if it turns out to be positive? In this process, it is best for you to decide because you will suffer the most pain and discomfort" he said openly. "I don't know, I've never thought of it before." It finally became You Huo, who broke a brief silence that passed again, "I don't know how and what to do, even if I wanted to keep the baby." Qin Jiu finally took his husband's hand and squeezed, "Whatever you choose, I will always be there for you, my dear. After all–" it was a pair of red lines on the test bar that split the conversation. "I'm pregnant." came a whisper from the omega, while the alpha pulled him to himself, giving him no opportunity for anything else, and hugged him tightly and opened his mouth. "I know I left the decision up to you, but can we keep the baby?" He asked, putting his head around his husband's neck. You Huo, on the other hand, was standing still deeply in thought. The alpha it a little tighter to embrace when his husband thought about what he should do. Eventually, embraced Qin Jiu tightly and nodded, "Mn".
It did not take long for the news to spread between friends and family. While many people wished their happiness, as our couple predicted, Gao Qi's first reaction when he heard the news was to insult Qin Jiu. Zhao Jiatong was left with a fist in Gao Qi's head and gave You Huo her best wishes.
As a result of a long and difficult pregnancy, a baby boy was born. You Huo was quite emotional as he was taking his baby in his arms and even tears began to drain from his eyes. Qin Jiu, who was not much inferior to his husband, gave his joy by hugging both of them.
Raising a child is a difficult task, even an art. Experiencing this firsthand, Qin jiu and You Huo did their best for their child even sometimes how difficult it was be. While Qin Jiu made his love clear, You Huo was the opposite. He would show his love from his small actions. The baby grew up in the hands of these two parents eventually turned four.
Even though Qin Jiu knew A-ning was like him, he could not compare some of his actions to You Huo. A-ning was a very cheerful and active child, very outspoken, like his father and papa. Although he made clear his love for something or someone, there were also times when he showed up with small movements like his papa. When he spoke like his father, at some moments he replied as much as his papa.
While You Huo was working because of an urgent business, Qin jiu had gone to get their young son from the nursery. When he saw the A-ning's face, he realized that he wasn't in a good mood. Only his family could understand these expressions of the boy because he look like his papa in terms of facial expression. Not only expressions, but he looked like You Huo, by black hair and beautiful golden eyes. When the boy got into the car, he had a slight smile on his face. He had told his father how his day went along the way home, but that fervor that had happened in the previous days was not there now. When they got home, Qin Jiu decided to observe a little more and would keep quiet about it. His husband probably wouldn't be able to return until late. So it was up to him to fix this problem. Although it was A-ning's favorite meal for dinner, the fact that he had not eaten much was the last straw. Qin Jiu took a deep breath and began to speak. "Is there anything you wanted to ask me?" he chose an easy question. He didn't want to give a feeling as if he was cornering his son. "Today we were talking about our moms and papas at the nursery" he replied, waving his feet unable to reach the floor. When Qin jiu felt this, his eyes narrowed. His son would only do this action when he was excited or annoyed, and given previous circumstances, the answer probably seemed like the second option. "As my friends told me about what theirs mothers and papas do and say, I felt my papa isn't like the others." as the little boy spoke, his father nodded his head to show he was listening. "Even papa can sometimes behave coldly, sometimes pushing people away from him. He doesn't show his love like you. That's why I... I..." the sentence was half left with hiccups and tears that started rise towards to the end. Qin Jiu immediately got up from his chair and went to his son. He turned his chair around and knelt in front of him. He hugged the boy tightly and began to caress his back. When the hiccups and tremors were cut off, he kept a distance and looked at his son's face. "If you think your papa doesn't love you, you're wrong. Your papa loves you very, very much. When you were born and took you in his arms, he cried in a way I had never seen. Yes, your papa may not be able to show his love, but when you paint a picture and give it to him, he hangs it directly in the fridge, so the fridge cover is full of your pictures. Although he does not call out A-ning like me, when something happens to you, his heart breaks and he becomes restless. One of the biggest proofs is the name your papa gave you: Xue-ning. If you think it's because you're born in winter like him, you're wrong. Yes, 'Xue' means snow but that's not the reason. Snow has a special place for your papa. It was snowing every time something new happened in our relationship. So your papa gave you the name Xue and Ning which means peace. You're the peace that comes after all the snowstorms we've experienced. Whenever you got sick, he stays awake until morning by your side and wait for your fever to down. Do you think he would do that if he doesn't love you?" the little boy said no, shaking his head violently. Qin Jiu, who hoped the problem was solved, once again hugged his son tightly. "Let's go ahead and tell your papa how much we love him if he comes early!", "Mhm!".
After the meal, while watching the movie together, the sound of the door being locked was heard. Quickly leaving his place, A-ning ran and hugged the legs of the person who opened the door. When the door closed and he was taken into the lap, he encountered a pair of yellow eyes like his own. "Welcome home, papa!" The only answer was a grumbling and a small smile that could be missed with a single blink. Qin Jiu also hugged her husband and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
When Qin Jiu and A-ning returned to the film, You Huo went for a shower. When he arrived, both men signaled him to sit between them, making room in the seat. He sat down and started watching movies with them. As the film neared its end, You Huo felt his arm firmly on his right. When he looked back, his son looked at him with a big smile and a picture of three members of the family. The word he expected to extend the picture came out of his mouth, "I love you so much, papa!". Not expecting this, You Huo's eyes opened in amazement, then gently curled up with happiness. "Mn, I know. So do I" he took the picture and after looking for a while, he went to the kitchen and secured it with a magnet to the fridge. Qin Jiu watched this interaction with a smile on his face.
