Chapter 1: The spider symbiote

Chapter Text

The breezy night, together with the heavy rain was a bad combination for the devastated Itadori family. On the doorstep Yuuji’s dad was kneeling on the matted floor, wearing a suit. It's as if he isn't abandoning the kid, but going to a meeting instead.

He was consoling the merely 8 years old kid in front of him, sobbing. On the door was yuji’s mom, covering her mouth, trying to cover the fact that she’s hiccuping after crying for an hour.

“I’m sorry, Yuji. Be good.” His father melancholy uttered as he stood up to open the door.

Even though the rain was already crying loudly, the youngster was sobbing more. With the thought of his parents leaving him with his auntie and for a kid who doesn't know any better, he knew that he should hold onto them for a bit longer.

“Take care of him, we got things to fix.” The bob haired woman, his mother smiled bitterly, a single tear sliding down to her cheek.

The young Yuji was not stopping his cries until the end of the night, the both guardians slowly comforted him and brought him to their warmest embrace and patted the sobbing child while he was also hiccupping. The night passed quickly as the crying child slowly fell asleep in his Auntie’s arms.

“Yuji, pass the ball.” First name basis, are we? The muscular boy behind him yelled, after he was just ‘accidentally’ hit by the basketball.

The pink haired were just as tall as them, but not as big as them. He was carrying multiple books and unorganized papers while he was just peacefully displaying the pictures at the board from yesterday’s event.

Jujutsu college was just a small yet known school in the city. Even though it was a prestigious school, somehow only a few people actually tried to enroll and take the so-called difficult exam, maybe they really think that they have no choice to ever enter Jujutsu college.

Itadori scoffed from the sudden yelling, without hesitation he threw the ball in the muscular boy’s direction and started heading to his next class. It was Professor Geto’s Psychology class, he couldn't be late.

It has been 9 years since his parents left him just for some things that need to be fixed.
But Itadori was a filial child, even though it has been a long time, he has longed for his parents presence at least once. But for many years they never ever communicated.

He was sitting on the back, easily spotting everyone, some was scribbling on their notes, some texting on their phones and even some was listening eagerly on Professor Geto’s Instructions. He was wearing white polo with an unfixed tie, probably tired and stressed. It was already a month since his freshman year started, but he was yet still called to be an adult.

On the front, he spotted Nobara and Maki chatting. In the window seat was Inumaki, sitting beside him who was nicknamed Panda, didn't really know what his real name was. Because this is a foundational course, it is a requirement for all majors to take at least two or three units of it this year. So everyone from different courses is seen in this class.

“You’re all dismissed. The deadline is tomorrow, don’t forget.” Professor Geto reminded and left the room first before the students went out.

It was already late afternoon, one last class and it's already time to go home and finish all of the pending projects, but someone just decided that it's his unlucky day today. He was just trying to go out for a quick air, but his conscience can’t ignore the struggling man, even though he was not the only person there.

“You have been hiding in that bastard’s back for a while now. Why can’t you just speak?” The muscular man from earlier who threw the ball, angrily yelled while gripping tightly at the man’s hand. The off-white straight bowl haircut man was trying to remove the taller man’s grip. It was Inumaki from an earlier class.

Itadori can’t seem to see the man’s friends everywhere. He was just alone, but surrounded with idiots who were only watching and won’t step in.

“Bastard, just because I am wearing a mask doesn't mean I can't speak.” Inumaki tries harder to remove the blonde man’s grip.

“So, you can speak after all! Why didn’t you-”

“Remove your grip, Hakari.” Itadori yelled from the crowd, at once everyone was looking at his way the moment he stepped forward.

“Oh god. The knight in shining armor is here.” He sighed, Inumaki stopped struggling on the man’s grip and was repeatedly mouthing to Itadori, "stay away.”

“I can’t,” He frustratingly mouthed. “Remove your hands now, you're causing a scene.” Itadori internally facepalmed, he knew that he will regret this later on, it's either he will end this day with a black eye or a throbbing fist.

“Mind your own business, put your damn nose somewhere.” Hakari sighed, gripping Inumaki’s wrist more tightly as he turned around to walk away.

“Stop there, are you deaf?” He provoked, his eyebrows raised. Itadori was also gripping the off-white haired boy’s shoulder. The boy almost crushed from being gripped too tightly, his face was already slowly going pale.

“What did you say?” He snapped, Hakari didn’t hesitate to remove his grip on Inumaki’s wrist and threw him aside and immediately threw a punch on Itadori’s face.

The man who was struggling earlier was left on the railing, coughing endlessly, he was hit in the garden’s railing who uttered a quick ow from the sudden impact on the back. It was a pretty hard hit.

“You basta-” He was cutted of again, Itadori immediately stood up and threw a punch up to his chin, Hakari forcefully gritted his teeth. The quick punch threw the blonde man’s balance, but was just also quick enough to gain momentum to hold Itadori’s collar and was punched again from his cheeks.

He was sent flying on the hard concrete floor, the students were just watching. No help whatsoever. His mouth and nose bleeding, the pink haired man spat blood and wiped his nose. He can’t feel his cheeks from both sides at all, but he can feel his eyes from the left side throbbing and was aching in the touch.

Itadori sighed as he brushed his hair off with his fingers. ‘Ugh, this bastard.’ he thought to himself, he also knew that he was screwed from both of his Auntie and Uncle.

“Tss, mind your own business from now on.” The blonde man uttered as he again tightly gripped Inumaki’s wrist. He was struggling once again. Itadori tried to stand up, but his feet were both trembling from the hard hit. He was still pretty weak after being sick yesterday.

As he could do nothing at all, he couldn't move a muscle, he gave up and laid on the concrete and took a deep breath.

Just a minute ago he was thinking deep, laying down on the dirty floor, now he was back on his locker. Like nothing just
happened, like nothing hurt at all.

He touched his swelling eyes, it was still aching and throbbing. He sighed again. He locked his locker and started going to his last class of the day. He couldn't wait to go home but he felt guilty about what happened earlier. Should he go back and help the man? It was him who worsened the situation after all.

“Hey! Pink hair!” Someone yelled from his back, Itadori didn’t bother to look behind but he walked faster.

“Can’t you hear us?!” A green haired girl in a ponytail angrily shouted as she held Itadori’s shoulder to make him face her.

“Ow..” He immediately groaned from the aching pain.

“Oh! We’re so sorry, she’s kinda irritated and aggressive. Are you okay? Let us take you to Miss Shoko.” The light brown girl apologized, as he shoved back Maki.

“What do you need?” Itadori raised his eyebrow. Now that he can see who is in front of him, maybe they’re Inumaki’s friends because he was with them, but it was only the four of them.

“Shit. I’m really sorry. I meant to say thank you for helping Inumaki earlier.” She bowed deeply, Itadori panicked internally, he stopped her from bowing deeper. Inumaki was hiding behind the tall black haired man’s figure.

“Thank you, and I’m sorry.” Inumaki walked forward and also bowed. The man on his back was Megumi Fushiguro.

“Let us take you to the clinic.” He simply uttered and started to drag Itadori to the clinic. Nobara, Maki and Inumaki were in the back pushing him to go.

“I don’t need to, I'll be late to class-” Itadori forcefully smiled.

“Your next is chemistry right? We both have the same schedule. No need to worry, it was our fault anyway.” As Megumi continues to drag him back.

“I’ll excuse you from sir nanami, it’ll be easy. I don’t have classes for now anyway!” Nobara beamed, Inumaki agreed happily and Maki was crossing her arms and grinned.

“I’ll leave you to it, take care of him, everyone. ” Nobara exclaimed and started to walk the opposite way.

“Fushiguro? It's okay, I can walk.” Itadori smiled, and made their way to the clinic.

“I’m sorry. I just left Inumaki for a moment, I came back when hakari was dragging him all over the campus. “ She
apologized too and opened the clinic’s door. Itadori was just staring at the void, he was completely wrecked and messy. He didn't even bother to clean himself.

“No, it wasn’t your fault that I almost died.” Inumaki scoffed.

“I just left you for a quick minute, you dumbass.” Maki scolded him, Inumaki laughed as his response.

“Thank you, anyway! Why were they chasing you? Did you offend them?” Itadori questioned, The blonde did mention he was always behind someone, that's why hakari cant reach him at all.

“Now I think about it, maybe I did offend him, or they needed some information out of me, and I never listened.” He mumbled under his breath.

“Miss Shoko?” Fushiguro looked around to find the doctor, she was nowhere to be seen. The clinic was as big as a classroom, two beds that were separated by a bind. The door was immediately greeted by a table with a thick book full of student’s names and dates. To the sides were massive glass doors that were full of medicines and medical equipment. The clinic smelled too much of alcohol.

Itadori walked to the treatment table and laid down as he took a deep breath, again. Fushiguro came back with First aid and Maki with an ice pack on both of her hands. The setting sun was seen in the window, it was a perfect spot.

“Miss Shoko is nowhere to be seen, but I can do it anyway.” He nonchalantly uttered as he put down both of them on the table near Itadori and dragged a chair near the treatment table.

Maki sat up, “Put this in your eye,” Itadori licked his lips and quickly tasted a metallic kind of taste.
“15 minutes each, drink this first. “ Maki added

“Why are you still having your nosebleed?” Fushiguro tilted his head and gave him his handkerchief. Itadori didn’t even notice, he has been staring at the void for too long, clueless.

Itadori took his handkerchief and laid his head backwards, “Hey, not like that. Put your head forward.” He immediately demanded as he put his hands to his nape to bend his head forward.

“Oh, my bad. You’re good at this huh,” Itadori mindlessly uttered.

“What do you mean? That’s basic knowledge.” Fushiguro removed his hand and raised his eyebrow.

“I- nevermind, thank you.” His voice groaned and was full of vulnerability that might break in the last word.

“ts, whatever. Just don’t be reckless next time.” He avoided eye contact, shy from the sudden thanks and started to tend to the scratches in his hands.

“What happened to you, son?” His uncle worriedly gasped.

“Why is your face full of bandages? Are you okay? Are you hungry?” Her auntie flooded him with questions, as he put down his backpack on the near couch.

“I’m okay, my friend is just too exaggerated at putting on a bandage. It's not even that much, hehe.” He giggled as he scratched his head.

Itadori raised his eyebrow as he saw a familiar brown bag at the trashcan, it was too big to fit in the small trash. He picked it up and started scanning the bag.

“Oh. Uh…” His uncle nervously fidgeted his fingers, and quickly gave away. “That’s your father’s bag.”

Itadori went to his room, and opened the brown bag. There was a ballpen, a small notebook, a pair of glasses and an Oscorp ID. Oscorp is a multi-billion yen chemical and pharmaceutical corporation. Based on Itadori’s research on his computer.

On the ID was named Jin Itadori. There was the address of Oscorp on the bottom of the id. Maybe he can go and investigate his parents whereabouts.

Even though he hasn't seen his parents for almost a decade, it was still his parents after all.

As he almost put aside the bag, he noticed it was heavier than he expected it to be. Even though all the things were brought out, it was like nothing changed at all. But there was no more compartment so what was it?

Itadori started to explore the bag, and started to tap some multiple buttons. Trying to feel any suspicious seams, first outside then the inside. As his hand gradually started to go up the bag, he felt a magnet and twisted it. It revealed a folder of papers.

He immediately locked his doors and started to scatter the papers around his room, most papers mentioning cross-genetic experiments, and genetically modified spiders that were said to be made by Jin Itadori.

‘I should take a visit to oscorp.’ He thought to himself.

“Don’t lose your way. This is the Oscorp Lobby,” The man said in a flat, deep voice yet straight to the point, Itadori is to identify the man just yet. He didn’t know the people around him, but as he knew they were all interns with the tour guide.

As they made their way to the elevators, Itadori swiped his Father’s id in the entrance before he got to go in.

“Before we’d get to go around, I’d introduce you to Dr. Yuki.” The man said, as everyone started to roam around the laboratory, the tour guide was now visible.

Fushiguro raised his eyebrow at Itadori, wondering what a first year student was doing at a multi billion yen corporation. Itadori tilted his head as a response —also mentally asking what he is doing here as the tour guide?

Itadori turned around to roam the lab, but instead bumped on a man in a suit. He helped him with the papers that fell, the papers were similar to what he had seen from his father’s folder.

“Thank you,” the man whispered, itadori was not letting go of the folder, but he instead stared deeper at the papers. The man raised his eyebrow in suspicion, and held tighter to remove it on Itadori’s grip. Eventually, His grip loosened and started to stare on the void again.

A tall figure started to walk in his way, “Don’t you wander mindlessly, I’ll be scolded.” Megumi held his wrist to make Itadori face him, “What? Haha, I’ll be at the back.” Itadori chuckled nervously as a response.

He indeed did not listen, Itadori followed the man in suit from earlier and opened a suspicious lock, he followed the order and opened the door the moment the man in suit left the room.

The room was clean as white, it feels like he is in a hospital, the place was sterilized. There were glass closet doors full with stacks of documents. The glass door in front of him was dominated with the massive glowing blue lights —as he opened the glass door, in front of him was a massive rotating machinery with thousands of silk webs shining from the lights.

It was continually rotating, as Itadori observed the spiders from the machinery— He unconsciously touched the silky web and the machine suddenly stopped rotating. He froze in his place.

Since the machinery was as tall as the room, the spiders started to fall unto him. The disgusted man started to shake himself and brush the spiders off, the hair, his shoulders to his feet. He opened the glass door and immediately closed it.

“What the,” Itadori felt goosebumps all over and nauseated from so many spiders crawling in his bare skin earlier, as he didn’t find any clues he left the Bio-Cable Development Unit.

“Didn’t I tell you to stay put? Where were you?” Megumi frustratingly facepalmed from the pink-haired man’s action.

Itadori lightly chuckled as his response, “Give me your pass.” Megumi demanded, Itadori pouted back from the strict man.

“Whew, fine.” As he gave his pass to Megumi. He scratched his head and suddenly felt a tingling touch on his nape, and was quickly followed by a small bite. He unconsciously uttered a quick ow. As Itadori thought it was a mosquito, it was a small spider who had bitten him.

“Your name now is Jin?” Megumi sarcastically remarked as he went back with the tour group.

Even though the night was cold, and winter was coming, Yuuji was sweating too much in the train, body stiff yet his mind was asleep. His dream was a haze, yet there was endless buzzing in his ear, feeling like an insect was mumbling in his ears.

An old man tried to interrupt the peacefully sleeping man by balancing a half-filled alcohol glass bottle in his forehead, with the train moving, the teenager unaware, his finger suddenly twitched from the coldness of the bottle.

The coldness moist in the bottle was slowly dripping down in the bottle until it was in his forehead, the moment it hit him, his eyes suddenly wide open, out of breath, beads of sweat falling from all over his face. People might assume that he just ran a marathon.

The sudden drop of water woke him up, and he unconsciously slapped the bottle and stood up. It hit a nearby passenger and the alcohol was all over the woman.

“Now, I smell like alcohol! What were you thinking?!” The woman, frustrated, yelled at his face. She was touching the wet clothing all over her body.

“I’m really really sorry. I did not even know that there was a bottle, forgive me.” Itadori bowed as deep as he could and gave her his handkerchief, it was fushiguro’s.

The woman tried to take it, but it was not budging in Itadori’s hand even though he was not holding it. It was glued to his hands.

“What now? You won’t help me with this mess you made?” The lady in black dress sarcastically replied.

Itadori was clueless, and scratched his nape. “W-what? I am not even holding it anymore?” His voice is brittle yet raspy from sleeping. He raised his eyebrow, the other people who were on the train were looking at Itadori, both confused and amused with the situation.

The old man who put the alcohol in earlier shoved Itadori back. “Can’t you just help the woman?” As he held his collar. Itadori tried to shove him back too, but now his hands were glued to the old man’s hoodie.

He pushed him so hard that the hoodie was ripped apart and now stuck to his hands. “Uh, oh boy.” He sighed.

The old man was left with his white sando, then suddenly threw a punch. “Ow,” Itadori suddenly twitched, not from the upcoming punch but from the sudden louder buzz in the back of his head, and the instinct to avoid and attack suddenly arose.

Itadori quickly punched the old man, then next were the old man’s acquaintances throwing punches at him. Effortlessly, he avoided them all and punched them all fairly enough. Even though his movements were flailed, every punch was just hit right.

As he tries to rest his hands on the silver pole, now his hands are stuck once again on the cold pole. “What is happening to me?” As he tries to facepalm, but worried that it might get stuck on his face.

One of the old man’s friends stood up, Itadori accidentally ripped out the pole, and faced the guys properly. But the pole accidentally hit their heads. How clumsy.

Itadori’s buzzing was not stopping at all, it was continuous, to the point that his headache worsened. “I am very sorry!” And the pole made a ting sound as it fell on the train’s floor.

“What the hell am I doing?” Itadori was frustrated, as he put both of his hands on his face to have the sudden thought to just yell loudly. That was some odd situation back there.

“Itadori, are you alright?” His auntie worried, Itadori was red all over, the beads of sweat were not stopping anytime soon. The pink haired felt like everything had become sensitive to his senses. His eyes were sharper, too clear to the point his head was spinning like watching too high resolution videos in youtube together with its heightened brightness.

The buzzing in his ears has stopped ever since he came home, but it was also irritatable to the point that it gives goosebumps all over his body. And his touch felt like it was restarted, it felt brand new, as if he was given a new body. It was eerie.

“Y… yeah, I am quite alright, you see!” As he inhaled deep and smiled widely, assuring that everything is alright. It was not. Itadori went to the fridge to find some food, he was hungry. Felt like he could eat a horse.

“Is he high? Or just drunk darling?” His Auntie worriedly questioned. “I don’t think so.” His uncle sighed, replied.

He woke up as if he got the worst hangover of the year. He shakes his head in denial of all what happened yesterday. It's just a dream.

“Shit, shit, no.” He cursed as he broke something the 4th time even though it's still 8 in the morning.

“Ma!” Frustrated trying to cover where the water is coming from he calls his auntie again. The water was all over the bathroom, he broke the faucet this time.

He researched earlier of what could possibly make him like this, going all back. He did eat a foul tasting dessert yesterday, but it wouldn't resort to these kinds of symptoms. Looking back, he realized it was the spider bite from the lab. Was he infected? No. Was he sick? Neither.

As the days passed by, ever since the bite, he could do many things. Like crawling on the walls, and being able to walk on the ceiling. It looks like he was defying gravity. He has also been shooting spider like webs and has tried shooting in quiet empty woods ever since.

He discovered something about his father’s experiment, he knew that the spider cross-genetic DNA was one of those and has been finding his father’s partner who made this together with him. He knew who it was, Dr. Yuki.

“Spandex, spandex,” Itadori mumbled while looking at his computer, it was full of athletes with their specific clothing. It has been a week of experimenting with what he has obtained.

The moment that he knew things that he could accomplish with the powers, he struck higher and harder. Ever since the order has arrived, his suit. Made of spandex, it was flexible, suitable for his agility.

Itadori pulled the crimson with black highlights mask over his head. The slick and tight spandex hugged his figure well, every muscle that he built when he exercised was much more visible. It was not a high tech armor that could protect him in a powerful punch or a high blasted laser. Neither were there shock absorbing pads.

Just enough cloth with red and blue synthetic fiber all over the suit, head to toes. It was not something that could protect him, but as he looked below the streets, he realized something else. It gave him the freedom to move freely with no restrictions.

As he lets himself fall in the tall building, he knows what he has to do.

It has been a month since he treated Itadori’s injuries in Miss Shoko’s office. He was pitiful that time, he admits. The Avenger was not in Japan anymore, but they’re currently in America patching things up. But somehow, there’s a weird so-called vigilante that has been roaming around the neighbourhood.

The media has been buzzing ever since he appeared. They called him the friendly neighbourhood spiderman, how strange. I thought there was no avenger left in Japan? Or maybe Spiderman isn't part of them at all? Megumi thought so.

“Meguummiii, do you miss me?” The sudden high pitched voice from the other call made him put the phone far away from his ears. His voice is too much.

Fushiguro is still at the Oscorp, it was almost time to go home and finish the day’s work.

“I don’t ‘miss’ people who put gps on my shoes, gojo-sensei.” Megumi scoffed as he rubbed his nose bridge from the sudden unknown call.

“What do you want now? I won’t go to America. I’m hanging up.” He sighed as he almost hung up the call.

“Wait!” The other caller yelled, “is the investigation going well? I’ll reward you when I’m back!” As Megumi turns off the call.

He was a Cybersecurity intern. A prodigy in that field, he was the type of person who finishes everything in time and organizes them neatly. The kind who drinks black coffee until all of the work is done. But he was not only there as an intern, but also to investigate Norman Osborn. Who was also called Kenjaku in the industry.

“Gumi-chan, father wants to have dinner with us tonight. Are you going?” Another caller, it was Tsumiki. Megumi’s older sister. She is currently working in Tokyo.

“I have many deadlines this week, I can't." Megumi sighed as he plugs off the last wire from his office and walks away.

Fushiguro has 3 places where he can and doesn't want to stay. The first is Gojo's sensei’s mansion, in his sensei’s mind he has basically adopted them both when toji abandoned them and then came back 5 years later. How ironic, isn't it?

The second is the zenin’s, the clan who abandoned him and his sister, who invites them both monthly like nothing has happened. Feels like he had something to do with the clan, but in reality he had already cut off all of the connections to them. His sister was the opposite, she was too kind.

The third was the dorm. Ever since his sensei left for America 3 weeks ago, to take care of his company there, he didn’t want to be left alone in the mansion that wasn't his, so he went to the college dorms.

The Zenin clan was known for their multigenerational police dynasty. They are basically the royals in the police force in Japan. They are the family that runs the country’s security for decades. And he is technically the ‘prince’ of the force, the next in line. But he hates the dirty work underneath that elite image.

And they are technically haunting down the so-called vigilante, Spiderman. From what he heard, the vigilante stopped multiple illegal transactions from them and Spiderman didn't bother to investigate who it was from, it was purely coincidental.

Even though his last name wasn't Zenin, it was because of his father. And that was the only thing he did that he was grateful for.

Fushiguro scanned the Flashdrive at his hands that he secretly obtained earlier from the Bio-Cable Development Unit. It was an odd yet familiar unit for him, full of spiders, but also full of confidential information.

The gloomy man suddenly stopped at his tracks in the middle of the street, there was a commotion nearby, his face remained stiff, no visible emotion, only his dead eye stare, and rigid posture.

“Man, it's too late for this. Don’t you all have curfews? Because I do.” The spiderman yawned as he scratched his neck. He was unharmed, but the 4 criminals were stuck like glue on the walls. They’re probably waiting for the police.

Megumi scoffed with the banter and started to walk away, the dorm was almost nearby.

“Hey! Isn’t this sea urchin? “ Someone from behind yelled, the streets were already quiet since he had already gone far. Is it possible that someone is calling him sea urchin?

He looked behind, and no one was there. He rolled his eyes. “You just rolled your eyes, my feelings are deeply hurt behind this mask.” The spider suddenly appeared in front of him, hanging from the electric wires. He pouted as he crossed his arms as he dangled like a pendulum.

He is too occupied with his thoughts to accompany a stranger. He brushed him off, too tired and annoyed.

Before Megumi started to walk away again, he threw a chocolate bar on him. “You need some sweetness in your personality, bro!” as spiderman started to drift away, he unconsciously caught the chocolate bar that was given to him and scanned the chocolate. He doesn’t like sweets, but the sudden kindness towards him, he slowly lowers his guard.

The next day, it was a rainy and cold afternoon and the last class was Professor Geto's class.
“I’ll pair you all for a semester's worth of projects. Since this is psychology, it makes more sense to observe the other than to observe yourself with biases.” Prof. Suguru instructed as he slowly scans everyone while typing in his laptop.

Professor Suguru was the kind of person who made everything ahead of its time. Last month’s projects were already given all in a day with organized instructions and deadlines. All he had to do was remind everyone from time to time, give lectures and the exams. It is both a good thing for everyone who wants everything done and bad for those who do it last minute, including Itadori.

“I hope he’ll pair us both Yuuji, but I know deep down that he’ll pair the opposites.” Tado the person he’s sitting next to sighed. He doesn't even remember when they became close. He only started talking to him when he asked about his preferences for women. Tado was sometimes silly in nature, but he was one of the smartest in their major. Yuuji nods in agreeance

After a few minutes of pairing up, Tado was indeed right. The pairing came with opposite personalities, some were paired with the smartest and the dumbest, the others was the organized and just let it be kind of people.

“Itadori, and Fushiguro. That’s all. The rest of the instruction is already sent, take your time planning.” As he stood up to leave.

“Hey, Fushiguro,” Itadori tapped his shoulders, he was just seated in front of his table.
Megumi turned his table around and replied, “Hm? I'm only available at night.” While looking at his schedule on the phone.

Itadori fidgeted with his hair while thinking, but I have to patrol at night. He thought to himself. “Do you live in the dorms? We can hang out there sometimes!” Itadori suggested, his cheeks resting on his face. Megumi raised his eyebrows.

“Uh, I mean I also live there! Maybe we can make some time at night?” Itadori suggested while awkwardly laughing. Thinking, did he just expose himself there for a minute?

“I’ll take a look at the project later,” He paused for a minute. “I can excuse myself once a week, let’s do it by then.” Megumi probably hesitated based on the long pause. He knows that he can do the project himself if it was for one, but it was unfair for the other side. It was also a bother for him.

“Have you seen the new footage from Spiderman? I always think, how is that even possible?” Nobara suddenly asked, while scrolling on her phone. She was in front of the board. Itadori’s eyes widened for a second.

“You’re asking that as if the Avengers don’t exist.” Maki rolled her eyes on the sudden out of the topic question. “And the monster's sudden appearance too. I'm not even surprised at this point.” Maki added as she lay down her head on the table.

“But he’s not part of Avengers though?” Nobara raised his eyebrows. Itadori glanced at Megumi, he was fidgeting with his pen, is he listening?

Itadori stood up and leaned on the table next to Megumi, trying to hear their gossip louder. “Maybe, not yet. They’re probably hunting the kid.” Maki replied, face covered mumbling under her breath on the table.

Itadori never thought to be part or recruited of Avengers. He was already content with helping the neighbourhood even though he benefits nothing from it physically, but mentally it brings happiness to him that he could help to this extent. But that was not the only reason why he chose to be like this.

It has been a month since he got bitten by a radioactive spider, and he never thought that it’ll end up like this. All because he went to find some clues to find his missing parents. Till now he was still gathering clues about Oscorp. All the things he did led to that company after all.

A month of going on and off their lair at night without getting caught, except for that one time someone almost caught him in the dark. It was almost midnight that time.

“Just be glad that someone is helping, since the Avengers are not in Japan for the meantime.” Maki added again, Nobara just smiled back at her.

Itadori smiled a bit with the thought. “Fushiguro, What do you think of Spiderman?” He asked as he grabbed a seat at Megumi's table and tilted his head. He was busy reviewing his notes.

Megumi stared at the table for a few minutes, and sighs. “I think he’s a reckless kind. He’ll get himself killed soon with that thinking.” He said with a flat tone, and his deadpan stare at Itadori then immediately get back on reading. Itadori was left with his jaws hanging, and with confused blinking. Thinking back, maybe he was indeed reckless that led him to countless injuries, but maybe not to the point that it’ll kill him someday?

“What?! Why would you think Spiderman is a man?” Nobara suddenly barges in the conversation, as he slaps Fushiguro’s table.

His deadpan piercing stare was on Nobara, she was unbothered. “Why would the man in spiderman be there?I am not sexist.” Fushiguro inhaled deeply as he facepalms.

Itadori laughed from the sarcastic remark, “I didn’t say he was a bad person.” Fushiguro added.

“Hm, good point. But I did theorized that Spiderman is a Woman at some point based on the videos on the internet.” Nobara thinks so, as she tries to remember why.

Itadori awkwardly laughed with the theory, “H..huh? Why?”

“He is certainly not.” Fushiguro didn’t hesitate. Because he met the Spiderman after all. The argument ended with Nobara bickering with Fushiguro, like how would he even know?

Itadori laid down on the rooftop, looking at the dark night with the sparkling stars and inhaled deep. “Is this even all of it?” Itadori sighs, he did gather some data from the people he held hostage before turning them to the police. All of the clues was stuck in one point, he needed to infiltrate the building again. But ever since someone caught him once, the security was updated. It was a bad mistake. The frustrated man thought.

Suddenly, in the dead of the night his phone vibrated.

Fushiguro: lets plan the first project tomorrow
Fushiguro: Sent an Attachment.

It was already 2 am, how is he still awake? The attachment was his address. The building, floor, and number. Itadori scratched his head in response. They were literal neighbours, he was next door. He did know that he lived in that building, not stalking. Because he did give him chocolate one time as Spiderman. But not literally next door, does he often go home late and goes to school too early?

Itadori: how did u find my account? Are u stalking me
Fushiguro: wth are you talking about
Fushiguro: your account was already in the gc, and i need you to clean your schedule tomorrow, is that okay?
Itadori: no its not im busy

Itadori giggled behind the screen, he was easy to tease.

Fushiguro: … oh then you dont have a grade
Itadori: IM KIDDING OKAY im avail and youre literally next door i can just crash out there anytime
Fushiguro: really?
Fushiguro: are you sure youre not the one stalking?
Itadori: HAHAHHAH idk maybe
Fushiguro: creep go to sleep

Maybe he was not easy to tease, Itadori chuckled as he turned off his phone. This week will be one of the busiest after all.
