Work Text:
Woonhak knew he should have locked his room like he usually did. He should have turned that damned knob before the others burst in, and Jaehyun was on his back about what he did this morning.
"I was hurt," Jaehyun said, and Woonhak could already feel his energy draining. He watched with resignation as the other four members settled themselves around his room.
Sungho was eyeing his shelves critically, and was already rearranging some of the things on it. Dongmin had climbed on to Woonhak's bed, and sat on the younger's other side. Sanghyuk took the younger's chair at his desk and eyed the items strewn around on the desk. Donghyun had sat at the end of Woonhak's bed with his back against the wall, hugging an alien pillow. But the worst was Jaehyun, who was leaning half his body weight on top of Woonhak.
"I was hurt," Jaehyun repeated, sullenly.
Woonhak sighed, heavily, "What now? Why are you guys even in my room?"
"When was the last time you cleaned your shelf," Sungho asked, shaking his head at the mess.
Woonhak was ready to protest, when Jaehyun complained right in his ear, "Yah, are you ignoring me right now? Don't you think you're being really mean?"
Woonhak shoved him away, but Jaehyun was quick to come back. He glared at Woonhak, accusatorily, "You went running this morning."
"Yes."
"With Ohyul."
With a heavier sigh, Woonhak nodded, sagely, "Yes."
"After you said no to me when I invited you running two days ago," Jaehyun continued, his frown deepening.
"I haven't seen Ohyul in months," Woonhak said, patiently. "I see you everyday."
"So, you refused to go running with me, but you would go running with Ohyul," Jaehyun grumbled. "How did you think I feel, especially when you came to borrow my running shoes?"
"But Jaehyun ah, you always say no when I invite you to work out with me at the gym," Sungho interjected, with a head tilt.
"That's different," Jaehyun said, rolling over on to his back to further press Woonhak down and also poke the alien pillow Donghyun was holding with his foot. He grinned mischievously, when the younger moved the pillow away. "I don't go to the gym with anyone else either."
"Get off," Woonhak says, shoving the older man off of him. He sat up with a huff, glaring around the room. "Why are you all here?"
Jaehyun pouted and went to plant his face on to the alien pillow. Donghyun looked down at him for a moment before gently combing through the dark locks with his fingers. Jaehyun shifted closer so he could wrap his arms around Donghyun's waist.
"Woonhak would wake up at 5 in the morning to run with Ohyul, but would kick us out of his room after only five minutes," Jaehyun fake sobbed into the pillow.
"You should appreciate your hyungs when we're around," Dongmin added, somberly. "We're not going to be here forever."
"What are you saying?" Woonhak protested. "We hang out every day. We live together."
"Why are you making it sound like we're dying?" Sungho chuckled. Dongmin just shot him a grin.
Ignoring them, Woonhak turned to Jaehyun, "Hyung, you have a boyfriend now. Why are you still bothering me?"
"Because I miss you," Jaehyun said, simply. He rolled over on to his back, so he was now looking up at Donghyun. Donghyun gave him a cute smile that had Jaehyun reaching up to play with the younger's hair.
Woonhak made a disgusted sound, "Just go bother Donghyun hyung. I mean, you should be more worried about him anyway."
This caught Donghyun's attention. He glanced up at their youngest, "Me?"
"Yes, if Jaehyun wants something to be jealous about, it should be about his boyfriend hanging out with other people," Woonhak insisted. "Not me. I'm not the one who went on dates with other people after my boyfriend cancelled on me."
"I didn't go on dates," Donghyun frowned.
"I don't have to be jealous when it comes to Donghyun," Jaehyun said, poking the younger's cheek.
"Because he doesn't care about Donghyun," Dongmin added, helpfully. "Jaehyun hyung doesn't care what Donghyun does."
"Yah- No, no, that's not it," Jaehyun said, hurriedly, when Donghyun moved his head away from him, a small pout forming. He quickly sat up and cradled Donghyun's face in his hands. His voice soothingly assuring the younger, "Don't listen to him. He's lying. You know I care."
"Yah, why are you trying to make things worse," Sungho said, his reproachful tone falling short, when he couldn't hide his amused smile.
Sanghyuk watched the couple, thoughtfully, "But you know, I kind of expected Jaehyun to be more of a jealous boyfriend. But he's more understanding than I expected."
"Donghyun always tell me about his day, and often texts me when I'm not home," Jaehyun said, pulling Donghyun forward so he can put the younger's head on his shoulder. "He doesn't hide anything from me. So, I don't have any reason to be jealous."
"Jaehyun," Donghyun huffed, when he couldn't break free. Jaehyun finally loosened his hold, but only enough for him to shake his head free. But he was still chest to chest with his boyfriend, now cooing at him and his messy hair.
"But it's not just that," Sanghyuk mused. "Even when Donghyun goes on certain things, instead of Jaehyun, he doesn't get upset. Things that was originally a date, like that macaron pop up store they were supposed to go to. When Donghyun asked me if I wanted to go instead, I was half ready for Jaehyun to be upset and spent the whole day sulking about it. But he didn't."
"That's because he was busy," Donghyun said, unimpressed by Jaehyun now poking his nose. He tried to bite the finger, but was too slow. "He was working with Woonhak in the studio. Jaehyun was the one who told me to invite Sanghyuk hyung in the first place."
Jaehyun laughed, putting his head on Donghyun's shoulder. "The pop up was a one day event. I already felt bad for not being able to go. I knew Donghyun really wanted to go, and I know Sanghyuk loved desserts. The event was perfect for them. Besides, Donghyunnie got me a box of macarons too, so why would I be mad?"
"That's what I mean," Sanghyuk said. "You're a lot more understanding than I thought."
"Why is that surprising?"
"Ah, I get what you're saying," Sungho said, now thinking back as well. "Donghyun ah, do you remember that night we spent at a hot spring just the two of us? I thought Jaehyun would throw up a fuss about it just being me and Donghyun, especially since we were sharing a room. But it was Dongmin who ended up sulking about not going. Jaehyun was just happy to let Donghyun go on the trip - even when he couldn't join."
"Dongmin hyung was moody that night at the studio," Woonhak said, recalling the older man walking in to the studio glaring at everyone in sight.
"I had to suddenly work on my weekend off, because of someone," Dongmin said, pointily. Woonhak just ducked his head, apologetically. He probably shouldn't bring it up any further.
"Yeah, Dongmin was supposed to join us. But Woonhak and Jaehyun suddenly called him in to help with a song," Donghyun said, looking at Jaehyun who was still smiling. But Donghyun could feel the arms around him briefly tightened a bit. He soothingly rubbed the older's back. "We got the protocol managers to join us too, since we already paid for the rooms."
"Donghyun called me that night, anyway," Jaehyun said, lightly. "He told me everything you guys did. He even sent pictures of the dinner you guys had. He was sending me pictures of steak, when all I had was instant ramen that night."
Donghyun smiled, guiltily.
"Yeah, you had instant ramen with Woonhak," Sungho added, thoughtfully. He glanced between the couple and their youngest member. "If anything, Donghyun should be the jealous one here. Jaehyun has been missing out on a lot of dates to spend time with Woonhak."
"For work. And Dongmin hyung was there too that night. It wasn't just us," Woonhak said, not liking the insinuation. "Why would you even say it like that?"
Jaehyun just chuckled, amused at the turn of events. He pushed Donghyun's hair up in two separate poofs, grinning, "My baby lion."
"Jaehyun hyung is pretty chill about these things," Dongmin said, casually, almost bored by it all. "He doesn't even care that Donghyun leaves the bed at night to play games with me."
For a moment everyone froze. No one spoke as the words sank in.
Woonhak frowned, "I feel like that-"
His words got cut off by their leader suddenly moving very fast to crowd around his boyfriend. Donghyun found himself trapped against the wall with hands braced on either side of his head, and Jaehyun nearly climbing on him.
"You what?" Jaehyun said, his tone light and controlled. The same tone he used when he's losing patience with Dongmin and Woonhak, after hours of working in the studio.
Donghyun shrank back a bit, "That's not-"
"You leave?"
"It's just-"
"For a game?"
"It was only one night," Donghyun said, weakly.
"Oh yeah, we managed to finish the game pretty quickly this time around," Dongmin said, grinning now. "But the first time took us a week, didn't it?"
"A week?"
"You were away that week on a shoot with Woonhak," Donghyun hurriedly explained.
"Woonhak again," Sanghyuk said, shaking his head.
"Yeah, he keeps getting in the middle of them," Sungho sighed.
"I am not," the younger protested.
"But you still left me alone that one night to play a game," Jaehyun said, bringing back their attention to the couple.
"You were sleeping, and we were almost done," Donghyun tried.
"With what."
"The game!"
Jaehyun leaned back, unimpressed. He studied the younger, carefully, "You couldn't wait until morning?"
Donghyun shook his head, "We were nearly done with it. I knew if we didn't finish that night, we probably won't finish it at all. We had a momentum going."
"So, you just got up and left," Jaehyun deadpanned.
Donghyun winced, "You were sleeping. I knew you were exhausted, and I didn't want to wake you up with me gaming. So, I went to Dongmin's room to finish the game."
Jaehyun looked at him for a beat, and then sighed, "It was just that one time, right? I'm not going to wake up and find the bed empty after this?"
Donghyun shook his head.
"Oh, but the game's sequel is coming out soon," Dongmin added, helpfully with a grin.
"Yah," Sungho warned him. His eyes narrowed when he recognised the look in Dongmin's eyes. But the younger was steadfastly avoiding his gaze.
"Unbelievable," Jaehyun said, dropping on to the younger once more. His arms coming around Donghyun just a little tighter than before. "First, I missed out on the macaron pop up store. Then, I had to work while you went on a couple's trip with Sungho-"
"It wasn't a couple's trip," Sungho protested. "How could it be when you both were on video call for half the night?"
"Now I find out that you've been sneaking out of the room to play games at night," Jaehyun continue, ignoring the other.
Donghyun's face softened, "It was one time, and I was only gone for an hour or two."
"It's not fair that the others get to have their time with you," Jaehyun complained, childishly. "When's my turn?"
"When you're not busy," Donghyun replied, helpfully. He laughed at the other pouting. "It's true. Next month we have a week off. We can go on a proper date then."
"We should go on a trip," Jaehyun declared.
Donghyun nodded, excitedly, "Yeah, we should. We can go to the hot spring again. They have one well, where the water is so hot you can cook ramen in it."
"Really? I don't think we can soak in it, then," Jaehyun said, considering the younger, fondly.
While the couple was busy making plans for this sudden trip, Sungho was still studying Dongmin's face. He recognised the satisfied glint in the younger's eyes, "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
Dongmin tried to school his face, but the corner of his lips kept twitching. "What?"
Sungho gasped, when he realised he was right, "You-"
Dongmin didn't bother hiding his smirk, now that Sungho figured it out.
"What? What's happening?" Woonhak asked, glancing between the two.
"I don't think Jaehyun's the only jealous boyfriend here," Sanghyuk said, taking in what just happened.
