Work Text:
Getting out of prison felt strangely weird to Simon. He wasn't even in his own home as he wasn't there for ages, I mean, even if he remembered having a house before his imprisonment and his sister basically lived in that space station that she worked at which Simon didn’t feel comfortable living in. Especially after what had been going on for the past few days. To prevent him from being homeless, he now lived with an injured detective that he was taking care of for the meantime while he tried to find somewhere. Well somewhere who didn’t freak out about him serving time, even if it was false. While the detective’s house was small, it was better than his prison cell, especially regarding comfort. It was bright like that detective, as well as decorating how he imagined he would. Photo of family, friends, and memories. He couldn't care less about the people in those photos. Simon knew how much detectives got paid, so this house being this fancy looking was probably an extreme luxury for Fulbright.
Simon was torn away from his thoughts when he heard the load ring from the fire alarm go off. Nearly giving him a heart attack. He looked down at the pot of soup he was cooking, smoke rising from it making Simon cough. He rushed to turn off the stove to prevent an actual fire from happening. Grabbing a kitchen towel and waving it around the fire alarm to stop the loud screaming it made. It gave him a headache, and he was sensitive to the noise. And Fulbright was asleep. After the sound stopped Simon sighed and rested his arms, throwing the towel on the side before starting a new batch of soup for the man he loved dearly. While he was doing that, he felt a chill run down his spine, like someone was watching him, or someone had entered the house. Thinking it was Fulbright entering the room, he turned around, but no one was there when he turned around.
He shrugged his shoulders and turned back to the soup. Maybe he was just paranoid, and it was nothing. He had grown to feel the presence of others while he was in prison and maybe it was a false alarm. He finished putting the last ingredient in the soup, making sure to watch over it this time so another incident like that didn't happen again. Though he couldn't help but notice a picture that sparked his interest. He wasn’t sure why it did, but he went over and picked the picture up.
The picture showed 3 men, 2 women. Looked to be a 'family photo'. He could tell who the father was as he looked horribly old, extremely grumpy. Simon could tell that he looked like a neglectful father as he was paying more attention to a fire rather than his own children. He wasn't even looking at them. It disgusted Simon. He could also easily point out Fulbright in the photo as well. He had a massive smile on his face, almost the same hair and body as he did now, as well as the same scaring on his lips. He was standing directly next to his father with what Simon assumed to be Fulbright's siblings, all crouching or sitting in front of him.
He put the picture down and made his way back to the soup. Noting to ask Fulbright about it later, if he wanted to. He wouldn't even tell Simon how he got the scar on his lips. He finished everything up and put it into a bowl. Walking down to Fulbright's room, he felt another shiver down his spine. This time hearing whispering and shuffling, he quickly turned around and yet again there was nothing there. It was staring to scare Simon more than he wanted to admit. He turned back around, glaring behind him from time to time to see if he could find something that would confirm his suspicions.
He safely made it to Fulbright's room and slowly opened the door, just in case he was awake, and Simon accidentally startled him. He was fast asleep thankfully. Simon entered and closed the door behind him, placing the food down on the bedside table. Sitting down on the bed, it moving underneath his weight. His hand gravitated towards Fulbright’s face, moving his hair so he could see the face he loved so much. One thing fuelled him with anger, and that was the bandages that hugged his head and wrists. He wanted to murder that Phantom. That stupid thing that ruined his life, ruined Athena’s life, ruined his sister’s life, and more that jackass thought was ‘funny’. If it could even feel that way. But it was locked up now. There wasn’t much more he could even do.
Simon randomly grabbed Fulbright's hand in his and moved it towards his own face. Giving it a small kiss while quietly saying “I love you, Bobby Fulbright.” He was then tugged and pulled, falling on top of Fulbright. Saving himself by putting his hand right next to Fulbright’s face.
“Looks like someone decided to bless me with their beauty! I also love you!” Fulbright smiled, moving his face so he was looking at Simon's, who’s face staring to turn a pinkish colour. Fulbright immediately hugged Simon afterwards, giving him kisses on his cheeks.
“Stop flattering me Fulbright. Anyway. How are you feeling first of all?” Simon questioned, but with how Fulbright was currently acting he was probably feeling better than the day before.
"Feeling wonderful now that you're here with me!" Fulbright joked. Simon rolled his eyes and moved himself away from Fulbright so he could sit up. "Jokes aside, I'm doing fine Simon. My wrists are still painful from those chains that bastard put me in, but I'll be fine!" Fulbright added. Simon nodded in response and handed Fulbright the soup he made.
“I apologise if this soup isn't up to a high standard. I just wanted to cook something for you, y'know, since you’re injured and you still cook for us, even if it hurts you. So this is my thanks.” Simon admitted. Fulbright’s eyes lit up and immediately started eating up without another thought. He found it better than he expected it to be from what Simon had said to him. When he finished, he put the bowl back on the table beside him. “That was wonderful Simon! But you seriously didn’t have to do that. You also need healing yourself.” Fulbright said. His hand drifting towards Simon’s face, placing it on his cheek. Simon’s hand shot up and held Fulbright’s hand, wanting to savour it.
"But I want to take care of you. You're physically injured and shouldn't be doing things that could cause further damage to you Foolbright." Simon frowned. He didn’t want to go through this fight again.
“I'm being serious Simon. You don't hav—” Fulbright couldn’t finish his sentence before Simon’s lips clashed with his. Kissing him with quite the passion. Fulbright looked shocked for a few seconds before melting into the kiss. Simon’s hand moving to the back of Fulbright’s head and grabbing a load of hair, pulling him away from the kiss.
"Sorry about that. I just... wanted you to shut up about that for once." Simon looked away. Hoping Fulbright didn't mind. He loosened his grip on Fulbright’s hair who in return started kissing Simon again. Simon did the same.
After a few minutes the two of them stopped for some air. A string of Saliva still connecting their mouths together. Simon pushed Fulbright back down onto the bed, crawling on top of the other. Looking at Fulbright with something he didn't even know. His mouth contacted with Fulbright’s neck. Giving small kisses along it while nibbling down on it. Fulbright's hand rested on the back of Simon's head, maybe it was an invitation to do it more, but who knows. Simon swearing he could hear whimpers coming out of Fulbright's mouth.
Simon then bit down hard on Fulbright's neck, making Fullbright let out an audible moan. At the same time, their bedroom door flung open with 3 other people saying 'SUPRISE!'. Fulbright covered his mouth and Simon jumped, moving himself away from Fulbright's neck to see what was going on. Fulbright, with his hand over his mouth looked at the people who just walked in, who not surprisingly looked at the 2 of them in horror.
"Who are you?! What are you doing with my brother?! EXPLAIN YOURSELF!" The woman in the room yelled before grabbing Simon's collar, pulling him away from the bed. She was shorter than Simon, but Simon could tell she meant business. She was about to throw him at this point. Fulbright rushed over to Simon and removed the woman's hand away from Simon.
"Desirée, he wasn't hurting me." Fulbright sighed. He was kinda excited about knowing that he would have to introduce these guys to Simon. "Desirée, Sebastian, Matt. This is my wonderful boyfriend, Simon Blackquill." Fulbright then turned to Simon. “Simon, these are my siblings”
Simon just stood there for a couple of seconds. Not knowing what to say. He wanted to get back to what he was doing with Fulbright but he couldn't really do that with his siblings now here. He crossed his arms and nodded. Keeping himself close to Fulbright. Fulbright’s siblings looked at Simon with a suspicious look in their eyes. Then Matt put his arm over Fulbright’s shoulder.
"Got someone for yourself bro? Never figured you'd get it on with the ladies." Matt chuckled. Simon couldn't tell if that was a joke that Fulbright could never get into a relationship with women, or he thought Simon looked like the woman which Simon also thought was a stupid idea since he didn’t look like one at all. Well apart from the hair. But the thought of Fulbright not being able to get women either made him laugh.
"Yes, I did, you all. Well apart from Sebastian, have one, why can’t I?” Fulbright giggled. Grabbing Simon’s hand and squeezing it tight. Kind of showing him off to his siblings.
"So. How did you meet? Was it as romantic as mine and Ron’s?” Desirée chuckled. Placing a hand on her hip and smirking, knowing it probably wasn’t.
"Can we do this somewhere else that isn't my bedroom first?" Fulbright questioned. The others nodded before making their way towards the living room. Fulbright turned to look at Simon. Placing a small kiss on his lips, guiding the two of them to the living room. They sat down next to each other, the other 3 sat on the opposite side.
Simon's thoughts of Fulbright's house now came back into his head. Maybe the reason why his house was so fancy compared to other detectives may be because he 1. Had Matt Enagrde as a brother who was rich, even with coming out of prison. 2. One of his other brothers was Sebastian Debeste who, with the rumours he heard, would not want his brother to live in filth. 3. Even without knowing who Desirée was, she seemed very overprotective and confidant when it came to her brother, probably wanted only the best and she was probably rich too.
Simon was taken away from his thoughts again when he was nudged by Fulbright. "Simon? Are you alright? You're awfully silent." Fulbright squeezed his hand again. Simon nodded. "Just, in my thoughts again you know." Simon responded, giving Fulbright a small kiss on his cheek.
"Though. I would like to ask the 4 of you something." Simon got up and brought the picture he saw earlier to them and placed it down on the coffee table in front of them. "Is this image of you guys and your father? I assumed that to be Blaise Debeste.” Simon crossed his arms. “You uhh. Don’t have to answer anything past that. I just wanted to know. Foolbright keeps it around the house, and I never knew who you guys were until now.”
"Yes, that is us." Sebastian grumbled. “The... The little girl is me. The big one is Desirée, the guy sitting on the floor is Matt and obviously, Bobby smiling there.” Sebastian pointed out. “It’s a sensitive topic for us all. Blaise wasn’t the best father. Never was and never will be. I’m not sure if Bobby told you but our father is how he got his scars. We all have one from that stupid bastard one way or another." Sebastian slammed his hand down on the table. "I-... We. We wanted to make him proud... Yet in return he gave us hideous scars."
Simon nodded along as Sebastian spoke another their father. Knowing that his instinct of despising him, even if it was through a photograph were correct. “Scars are not hideous in my view. Especially not Foolbright's. I have... a few myself.” Simon gritted his teeth. Moving his hand away from Fulbright’s and squeezed his own arm. “I said I did a crime I didn’t do in order to save a wonderful little girl, now woman who I loved like my own sister. But that took a toll on me”
"Well. Who's up for watching a movie?" Fulbright stood up and already started making his way to the kitchen to make popcorn. His sibling cheered while Simon rushed over to Fulbright.
"Let me do it." Simon grabbed Fulbright who rolled his eyes and kissed him. "How about we both do it?" Fulbright questioned. Simon nodded in response, feeling as if he was falling in love with the other again. "We'll also get back to what we were doing later, I know you're itching to get back to that"
