•Percy is very open about enjoying punk/rock music but is a lot more hesitant about revealing he loves musicals.
•Isha loves musicals. Would be a theater kid if she wasn't terrified of acting and singing in front of an audience.
•They're not weird kids bcs they're demigods, they're weird kids bcs they're weird kids. I know they watched anime, read comics and enjoyed musicals, watched those specific animatics and had a gacha phase (before these things were 'cool')
•Isha is very, very tomboyish and occasionally cringes at herself for being so until Sally tells her its okay. Like she will try to be feminine and wants to be 'pretty' (by trying her mom's clothes) and ultimately gets gender dysphoria to the point of actual dehibilitating anxiety and mild breakdowns just from clothes. Hates her clothing crises so so much so she's given up on trying to be more feminine and dresses very masc/androgynous and has more fun dressing up in that style. Does wear makeup sometimes but not often but she likes makeup and probably desperately tries to bond with girls her age by talking about it bcs my girl has negative social skills. Actually no self-esteem but still has the typical teenage desire to wanna be pretty.
•Periods for demigods are weird bcs hormonal imbalance causes weird things to happen to their powers.
•Isha on her period is perpetually pissed off and emotional for atleast 2 weeks and definitely explodes water bottles/glasses (unintentionally) if provoked too much.
•Percy tells Isha Filipino myths, legends and ghost stories because he knows she gets paranoid. She then starts throwing salt at him and on their bunk beds.
•She retaliates by moving/doing things around the house and denying that she did it while gaslighting him into thinking its ghosts (didn't even start intentionally but she enjoys fucking with him now)
•Multi-ethnic household so most major filipino/Indian festivals are celebrated.
•They go crazy during holi for sure, it's basically just all out war.
•They definitely watch Marina together (look it up its a Filipino mermaid show)
•Isha probably sends him ganji chudail reels (this one's for my Desi audience idt anyone else is going to understand this one 😭)
•They do a lot of stuff together. Isha is already tomboyish and it's amplified by how much time they spend together. She gets his hand-me-downs, they play basketball together, they play video-games together, they go skateboarding together and Isha roller-blades everywhere. She yaps about all her favourite things to him and vice versa to the point where they get into each other's stuff. They just love doing dumb shit together your honour :). Steals Percy's clothes all the time and claims she's being economical.
•Annabeth is convinced that putting Percy and Isha together either enhances or cancels out their individual braincells depending on the day. She's working on figuring out the conditions that allow them to enhance their individual braincells while together. Only Grover and her cabin mates are aware of this.
•Isha steals his shit all the time. He fights back. She bites him.
•Street cats flock to Isha while street dogs flock to Percy.
•Annabeth builds actual insane shit on Minecraft for hours and will show everyone she holds in high enough regard unprompted
•Quick thought (Epic the musical thing, if you haven't listened to that musical you should be there rather than here) would be a thing for Athena kids but it's a very rare skill that is difficult to accomplish. Annabeth can only do it while concentrating really hard.
•Isha likes singing under her breath sometimes while half-focusing
•Percy and Isha are two sides of the same coin especially when faced with vulnerability whether its external or internal. Percy is far more open with his emotions (even if he feels pressured to seem put-together bcs ppl see him as a leader) while Isha is totally emotionally constipated. It took her very long to even coax herself to talk to her family about how she feels about her childhood.
•Percy is the type to be very gentle and sweet and helpful when others are vulnerable and tries to do what he remembers his mom doing. He's quite tactile. Isha only has negative experiences when imagining adults trying to deal with her emotions as a kid. She doesn't remember being comforted often, if at all and if she did get comforted, it wasn't without a few jabs for being too sensitive. Hence she is far from being stereotypically gentle. She tries to do it because she sees others do it but it never works so she just defaults to listening stoically and saying/asking the right things. By nature, she's quite straightforward and brutally honest with friends and will not pull punches while trying not to be too mean.
•Contrasting this, I'd say Percy can get a lot more black and white when it comes to people he trusts vs enemies. Like growing up in an abusive household with Gabe vs Sally as the two adults has him be quick to anger when someone betrays him and hence he will be quick to fully hate them intensely. He feels so intensely with love and with hate (a common adhd trait actually) he sometimes fails to see the nuance and it leads to things like him not understanding why Annabeth still loved Luke. Isha on the other hand is similar but she sees the nuance in people far after the point that they're enemies. She'd take a long time of forgiveness to realise someone sucks but then be super quick to cut them off yet still see the layers of the situation. Doesn't stop her from hating a little though and if she has to, she'll be fine harming them to protect her family.
•Both of them have big intense emotions and a very deep sense of love (water represents both in magic) but Percy being raised by his mother is more likely to project it out and even wear his heart on his sleeve on occasion even if he gets hurt doing it while Isha being raised the way she did as a weapon first buried and bottled her emotions and they just got twisted and carved into cold hidden fury. Percy is the chaotic, hurricane anger when it does come out while Isha is the cold as ice piercing your heart anger more frequently but can very easily be the former if pushed into snapping.
•Percy kind of presents as the more chill, beach guy, suefer dude, dolphins and horses kind of sea while Isha comes off as only 5% of the ocean has been explored imagine what horrors are under the depths, barely any light underneath the ocean kind of vibe. They are however both naturally intimidating.
•More two sides of the same coin crap: Percy is far more gentler and acts more 'humane' in situations but doesn't get as heavy of a guilty conscience as Isha (or until she talks about it a lot) who feels the guilt weigh on her more but is 100% willing to be more way more ruthless than her brother.
•After the Labyrinth, Rachel is 100% more traumatised by demigod crap and tries to tolerate it but finds herself getting pulled back into the fear everytime. Isha despises this 'weak' reaction because she can't comprehend people just refusing to tough it out like she and most everyone she knows does.
•Isha comes up with the most creative threats
•Annabeth capitalises on this because anyone will believe it easily especially if Annabeth endorses it.
•Annabeth texts Isha (let's pretend they text on computer) with long ass voice notes about her individual plans to do certain mundane things or some long list about architecture stuff and asks Isha to write it down sometimes even if she can do it herself. Isha helps out happily with no complaints. Annabeth also calls on Isha for mundane problem solving and then they get trapped into 3 hour side quests.
•Percy and Annabeth both secretly view Isha as basically their actual child because she's super similar to the both of them and hence is like a weird lovechild leading them to believe Isha's mother was evil Annabeth with magic.
•Percy is someone who's trying super hard to be a good person through all the bullshit that happens. Isha is fully aware she is not a 'good person' in that sense and is pretty accepting of it.
•Percy has a tendency to rush headfirst into things by himself very often especially when he's being impulsive/reckless. Isha on the other hand almost always tries to have allies near her and uses their skills accordingly. If she's alone then it means she was forced into thr situation by her circumstances or by the consequences of her own impulses though it happens less often
•Percy for sure was once in a band (without actually knowing any instruments) but managed to sing well and fake playing drums well enough to not be kicked out in two weeks
•Percy and Nico (and probably Thalia too) so bond over listening to alt/rock music (they're probably Hella obnoxious about it too) and they judge Isha for being a poser because she dresses somewhat punky like them but only listens to a few select songs and also extensively enjoys girlypop music and things. She thinks they're trying too hard to be edgy. Percy secretly likes some of her taste (such as Olivia Rodrigo) but is trying too hard at first and denies it. Probably grows out of that and outwardly enjoys it by the time he's 16-17.
•Isha did martial arts and gymnastics as extracurriculars when she had a foster family and a little beyond. They tried getting her into dance at first but she sucked at it and threw a calculated 'fit' (a well constructed argument with manipulation threaded into it)
•While they both come off as intimidating to humans especially at school, it's in totally different ways. Percy easily comes off as the punk bad boy archetype who's also pretty fucking good at sports and not as great at school. He's ignored frequently for the intimidation factor. Isha on the other hand comes off as anti-social nerd and weirdo loner who is ignored mainly for being weird. However when you actually start talking to them people realise Percy is way friendlier while Isha is 100% guarded an closed off. Percy stands up for people being bullied and is the type to call you names for being pathetic and picking on people. She's the type to threaten people with crazy things point-blank with no hesitation. Has told classmates to throw scissors at boys who are being boys and thrown things at people but the teachers view her as too quiet and shy to have done such a thing.
•Percy is very quite aggressive with his fighting style especially because he was taught by Luke at first ans then picked up quite a bit more from Annabeth who was also presumably heavily taught by Luke. I'd say he's more or less quite similar to the standard stuff taught at Camp. He definitely starts using his strength morr as he grows and actually gains strength
•Annabeth is definitely the typical slashy slashy Greek style of fighting. She's perfected it I'd say and recognizes and keeps her technique simple to hence use her surroundings in battle strategically to get her to win.
•Isha is just chaos. She spars with those two the most and picks up on their styles and what's taught to them but she has a more unique style. She's very fast and agile and likes zig-zagging swiftly. Her fighting style is much more restrained and precise and focuses on quick, small jabs and dancing around to tire her opponent out then go for the final hit kinda.
•Percy and Isha have excellent hearing. Most aquatic mammals 'see' with echolocation so it makes sense they'd also partially do that and hence genetically have really good hearing. Though that does make them sensitive to loud noises which can easily overstimulate them.
•Campers secretly do sleepovers at each others cabins or anywhere all the time. Chiron knows but doesn't say anything even when it directly broaches a rule.
•Percy and Isha have practically the same smile. Crooked grin, smirking face and extremely sharp teeth like a sharks so much so that their canines poke out when they're smiling.
•Isha usually goes with calling him 'Perce' as a nickname but will resort to calling him 'PeePee' when she's mad at him or wants to antagonize him. He retaliates by calling her 'Ish' (that means 'ew' in bengali and is conveniently 3/4 of her name)
•When Percy disappeared in Hoo, his hair grew out because he didn't get the time to cut it while Isha was chopping hers anytime she was about to have a mental breakdown so when they finally reunite, the two of them are genuinely identical especially because they're both closer in height now too. Her first words to him were probably 'why the fuck do you look like me?'
•Poseidon genuinely likes his kids as actual people not even bcs they're his kids. He thinks they're hilarious and cute and will cheer anytime they accomplish some insane feat. "Go honey!!" from Atlantis will be heard.
•They probably know like a bare bones amount of each others individual languages (tagalog for Percy and bengali for Isha). I think they'd each have been taught to read their own language in childhood, Isha at home and at school and Percy being taught by Sally because she didn't want to lose their culture. They'd still be kinda shitty and mid at it though because they're out of practice. 3 languages are used at home though it's mostly english because they mostly cuss or use slang in the others language.
•there is just the bit of bitterness/jealousy/sometimes resentment toward each other because Percy feels like Isha is way better at him at doing things such as learning how to fight, use her powers and do it in a more precise and creative manner way faster than he ever did or being better at school than him or seeming more outwardly 'smarter' and finding it easier to be objective and practical. He feels bitter and jealous sometimes that she's younger than him but better at these things but also hates himself for feeling it because he knows it's because she was not raised as an actual human child.
On the other hand, she feels jealous of him having had Sally growing up and some semblance of a childhood and love despite Gabe. She's jealous of how despite them both being outcasts, Percy fits in and gets along with people so much easier because he isn't as stoic and much more chill and outgoing than she is. He accepts and expresses love so easily and allows himself emotions and vulnerability which she has a hard time doing. He doesn't let the negativity affect him as much as she does. He is a powerful demigod while she is a monster because atleast he knows love and kindness. Percy grips onto his humanity no matter how much the world wants to strip it away while she's trying to find and hold on to the broken pieces of her own humanity.
•would rather die than admit it but Percy's 100% the person Isha loves the most though she holds mostly everyone she loves in equal regard. Definitely doesn't believe that of him though especially after this guy's love triangle bs started.
