Work Text:

It was a very dark and stormy night in Diamond City. In a certain haunted mansion, a young witch could be seen practicing some spells for her spell book.
“Let’s see, eye of newt, kitten spit. Grandmas wig? Weird…” Ashley was currently going over some spells as the night continued, only stopping to look out the window to see how it was going out there. It looked like the rain wasn’t stopping anytime soon at this point.

Suddenly a big flash of lighting appeared, frightening the witch. “Ack! Ugh stupid lighting..” Ashley muttered as she continued on looking over spells. It only took a few minutes before another flash came. And then another. And then another.

To say Ashley was unbothered by the lighting would be a huge understatement. If you asked her, she would simply say she actually enjoyed it but of course that’s a lie. A huge lie.

Ashley would currently shaking from all the lighting, her fists clenched as she desperately tried to pay no attention to it but to no avail, she just couldn’t. Nobody disliked Thunderstorms as much as she did. “Okay! That’s enough!” She screamed she closed the book and walked towards the door, but before she could reach it another flash hit. And this time, it really scared her.

Ashley fell on the floor hard as she screamed at the sudden boom. Curling up into a ball and she pulled on her hair. “Stop! Please just stop!” She cried as the lighting continued to hit.

The rain had always been her weakness but lighting was a big one too. It reminded her of the one thing she could never forget.

That one stormy night where her parents dragged her out to the middle of nowhere. They wouldn’t say a word to her before dropping her out of their car and talking to her. “This is what you get.” They said. “Witches like you don’t deserve families.” They said. “If you didn’t turn her into a spoon, we wouldn’t have to do this.” They said. “You’re not our daughter.” THEY SAID.

Oh how Ashley cried and begged for them to not leave her. Oh how she clutched onto her rabbit toy as they looked down on her, anger in their eyes. Oh how she just stood there as they drove off and left her alone. Oh how she cried for them to come back to her, that she was going to be good for them.

Ashley was wailing at this point, her hands basically ripping hair off her pigtails as she cried. Oh the poor thing, she couldn’t do anything but cry and scream. Suddenly the door opened.

“Ashley? I heard crying is everything okay in here?” Said Red, her best friend. Red was always there for her in moments like this. “Ashley! Oh dear..” The demon would say as he flew towards her, putting his clawed hand on her head in an attempt to comfort her.

“Hey hey, kiddo. Can you look at me?” Red said softly, trying his best not to scare the poor witch. Ashley looked up at Red, her eyes now red and full of tears still pouring out. Her head was pounding but she didn’t want to cry anymore. “There we go. The lighting must have scared ya, huh?” Red asked softly as he looked at Ashley. She slightly nodded, putting her thumb in her mouth in an attempt to soothe herself. Red noticed this immediately.

“Is someone little right now? Alright, come own sweetpea. How about I get ya changed and feed you a nice warm bottle, okay?” Red said as Ashley nodded. Taking his hand as he led her outta the door and into her room. He carefully helped her get outta her casual clothes and into her nightgown. He also handed her the stuffed bunny she had since she was little. “Alright, stay here honey. Papa Reds gonna get you a nice warm bottle okay? I’ll be quick I promise!” Red said as he flew outta the room. And as soon as he disappeared, he came back with a bottle in his hand.

Helping Ashley get into bed, her plopped himself right into her arms and started to carefully feed her. Just listening to her sigh and gulp down the milk was just music to his tiny devil ears. After Ashley was done drinking, he grabbed a red pacifier and put it into her mouth. Not before turning on her nightlight ofcourse.

“Sweet dreams Ashley. I hope tomorrow’s better for you okay?” Red said as he clapped his hands, the lights turning off as he and Ashley could finally get some rest. Ashley slightly squeezed Red and her stuffed bunny.

Red then started to purr as he rubbed his cheek against Ashley’s. She liked it when he did that, especially when she was regressed. She definitely was going to have a good nights rest with her papa tonight.
