Chapter Text
It had been easily 4 or so years since the public eye was landed onto Roadhog and Junkrat’s international crime spree. Large Corporations and CEO’s around the globe feared for their lives, and for their bank accounts after hearing about the dynamic duo stealing from the rich and giving to.. themselves. Even with how famous they ended up being, and how much coverage they got… it was never enough for them. Roadhog and Junkrat had always had something special with each other that just wasn't being satisfied with constant crime sprees.

Hey guys soo..
Has anyone actually found any recent leads on where Junkrat and Roadhog are hiding out at yet?? The news coverage about them has been awful in recent..

No good leads yet + extra info.
No leads yet, it’s heavily speculated that they don’t have a set ‘spot’ for where they reside, and are constantly on the move. And just an fyi, don’t look at mainstream news sites. Instead, consider r/ongoingcases or active news blogs for updates. Main stream media won’t tell you the real facts.

Countless forum posts discussing their whereabouts were on every corner of the ‘criminal investigation’ side of the internet. It could easily be considered one of, if not the most talked about case in awhile. But even all of that, it wasn't enough for them. And would never be enough. They had left an impact, a type of fear, fame, and fortune that not many could achieve.
October 11th, 3:02PM. It was a Saturday. And an unforgettable weekend at that.
News Outlets, Online Forums, and countless other news sites and social media covered it. It was honestly hard to believe - and some didn’t. Surely their story didn't end like this. It was just hard to believe that years of them terrorizing the globe was thrown away in just one day. They had gone through so much just for this? A lackluster ending? No big bang that took them out? It didn't feel like something the two of them would do, not without a purpose or a plan, at least.

ROADHOG AND JUNKRAT DEAD?
Today, October 11th, sometime around 3PM, Roadhog and Junkrat - an infamous duo around the globe had supposedly DIED after a bank heist gone wrong. Police reports say that the scrawnier maniac, Junkrat, or ‘Jamison Fawkes’ had planted over 1,000 bombs in the lobby of the bank planned for the heist, while the larger brute, ‘Mako Rutledge’ had kept the bank teller and any other citizens in the bank at that time hostage so police wouldn’t be called to the scene right away.
Supposedly, after police had gotten there, the two were cornered in the lobby while surrounded by the many bombs that were planted. After asking an officer who was there what happened, Junkrat said, quote - “I’ll blow this ‘bloody’ place to smithereens, with you, the workers, the customers, and us inside if you try to arrest us”. ‘Jamison’ in that moment was described as “manic” and like “a ticking time bomb” by various officers at the scene.
Attempts to negotiate with the duo all quickly fell flat. Within minutes, ‘Jamison’ had set a fuse off to one of the bombs and the bank was set up into flames. Thankfully police were reportedly able to get most of the people out safely, with mild to somewhat severe injuries. Reportedly, the bodies of the two fugitives have not been found yet, and police assume the fire caused from the excessive explosives must've burnt the duo to a crisp.

December 10th, 5:30PM.
Rain poured down from groups of clouds that lay in the skies above. A durable, but somewhat damaged van pulls up into the driveway of a middle class family home. The living room was filled with the scent of hamburger pasta being cooked over a stove set too high, and the sounds of a children’s toy playing some sort of looped song about colors and shapes.
Two kids sat in a living room. Leo was the 8 year old, younger brother to Ashley, who was 16. The two were siblings that had been living under an adoption agency for a while before being adopted by their two dads! Maro and James.. Sounds awfully familiar. In the kitchen, James, previously known as Jamison, stood over the stove. Jamison never knew how to cook that well. But he had to feed the kids while Roadhog was at work!
He scrambled around the kitchen, looking at a recipe that was hard to read on his cracked phone screen. His hands were drenched in pasta sauce and he was, as expected, getting it all over the kitchen.
“How tha’ hell would Mako cook this??..”
He mumbled to nobody in particular. Jamison glanced over at the living room, Ashley was on the couch mindlessly scrolling on her phone, while Leo was playing on a kids play mat. Everything was fine! He just had two kids to feed and had ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE ON HOW TO CONTINUE THIS DISH, IT WAS ALL FINE—
The sound of keys unlocking a door struck his ears like a lighting strike. Maro, formerly known as Mako, was finally home from work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mako groaned as he stepped into the house, closing the door behind him. He was soaked in rain and his tie was practically a concept with how it was barely hanging onto his neck. He placed his keys down onto a small side table next to the front door before he felt Jamison rush over to him from the kitchen, hugging onto his side with a type of relief and urgency that he knew he could solve. Jamison spoke up immediately, welcoming his husband home..while also begging for help.
“YOU’RE HOME! I MISSED YA SO MUCH!! BUTALSOCANYOUPLEASE–”
“Help with dinner?”
Mako interrupted. Jamison glanced down, nodding sheepishly. Mako would be annoyed with anyone else.. But this was Jamison. His partner in crime.. And his now husband, and father to his kids.Mako took control of the kitchen, Jamison stood close, watching how Mako was easily able to get 4 plates made up with ease!.. He never knew how Mako managed to do it, honestly.
..BUT Jamison had the job of giving the kids their portions, which he COULD do!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jamison, Mako, Ashley, and Leo all sat around in the living room. The TV was playing a random tv show to fill any silence the room would have when someone wasn’t speaking. Jamison looked up at Mako, he ate his food pretty quickly while managing to still talk his head off.
“ How was work? Did ya do anything fun?? How many emails did ya send today?? Did- “
“ Work was fine. Thanks for asking. “
Mako was polite with his answer, he never found Jamison’s rambling annoying anymore, but he still wanted a bit of peace..sometimes. Mako spoke to Jamsion without looking towards him fully.
“ Did you take your TRT shot today. “
“ I DID!! Y’know I know they ain’t supposed to work THAT fast but I think my voice is deeper already mate!”
Mako just nodded to Jamison’s claim. He knew it wasn’t - not yet at least. But he’d never want to seem like he wasn’t supporting Jamison. Mako’s attention turned to Ashley.
“ How was school. “
Ashley looked up from her phone to talk to Mako, she seemed a bit annoyed. Though whether it was aimed at Mako or the thought of school was unclear.
“ It was shit.. I hate my science teacher - he just doesn’t like me and refuses to give me an A on ANYTHING! “
Mako nodded slowly, considering his daughter’s words
.
“ I'll talk to him. “
That could easily be taken as a threat towards the teacher. Mako ‘talking’ to someone could mean having a polite conversation, or slamming them against a wall to get what he wants. That's what it used to mean, at least.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sound of plates and silverware clinking together faded away into a quiet room filled with only the sounds of a quiet TV. Mako stood in the kitchen over the sink, washing the different used plates from tonight. Jamison sat on the couch, perched on one of the arm rests like an odd animal. Jamison looked at the two of his kids, he leaned forward as he spoke.
“Alrighty, you two should head up to your rooms, yeah?”
Ashley nodded slowly, pleased that she could go back up to her room. She’d lean down and pick up Leo to take him upstairs to his own room. As the silhouettes of the kids disappeared upstairs, Mako emerged from the kitchen sitting next to Jamison on the couch. Jamsion was quick to crawl onto Mako’s lap like he was some sort of overgrown cat. Mako glanced down at him, sighing fondly. He’d lean down and push his head against the middle of Jamison’s neck.
“ Still not used to.. y’know, not having tha’ mask on.. “
His voice was almost sad. Despite how much time it had actually been since the two were known as ‘junkrat’ and ‘Roadhog’, Mako still wasn’t quite used to being a normal guy. Jamison wrapped his arms around Mako the best he could manage with how hulking of a figure Mako was.
“ Don’t worry mate! You’re doing quite skipper without tha’ piggy mask! “
Jamison was never the..best at comforting. But Mako felt a bit better after listening to his husband’s words. His arms wrapped around Jamison as he stood up from the couch. He was careful to not crush the scrawny man as they both head upstairs to their room.
“ We’re headin’ to bed. “
Mako was exhausted, work was annoying, the rain got him soaked, and what did he want at the end of the day? To spend the night with his husband. The two made their way up the stairs, Mako took slow, heavy steps that creaked each plank of wood his feet landed on before he reached the carpeted hallway of the upstairs. Once he reached their shared bedroom, he walked inside the room, the smell of plush bedseats and a happy relationship filled his nose. He felt a sense of peace that he wasn’t used to.
Mako playfully, but carefully tossed Jamison onto their bed, he landed with a soft ‘oof’ from him.
“Oi! Be careful with me!”
Jamsion’s voice wasn’t angry, just playfully annoyed. He’d watch Mako step into the bathroom connected to their bedroom, locking the door behind him. By the time Mako stepped out of the bathroom, he was slightly soaked from a well needed shower rather than the rain. He was dressed in black boxer briefs which had a design of a repeating ‘Pachimari’ pattern on them, no socks, and no shirt. Steam seeped from the bathroom to their main bedroom as he stepped out and collapsed onto the bed next to Jamison, who had changed into one of Mako’s T-Shirts, and random mixed socks.
Jamsion peered down from his phone to look at Mako.
“ Ya’ look like shit, mate. ”
Mako looked up with his eyes, not his head.
“ Fuck you too. “
The room fell into a peaceful silence, Mako had quickly fallen asleep next to Jamison, who was watching a video about constructing explosives. The two of them never really needed to say “i love you”. It was moments like this that proved they could sit in silence and still feel a sense of love buried in the small parts of their life.
