Work Text:
It was freezing cold and all Tamaki had was a blanket.
A thin, worn out, and scratchy blanket.
How could Kyoya be this cruel! He knew Kyoya had normal perfectly warm and soft blankets! So why'd he give him this horrible rag!
Though as much as he wanted a new blanket, he couldn't bring himself to get through the humiliation of getting up in the middle of the night to ask Kyoya for one.
Maybe if he tries hard enough, he'll just fall asleep! That must be it!
So what sleep methods could he try without moving from his spot on the couch?
Closing his eyes for a long time? Counting sheep?
Both good options. (He couldn't think of more..)
Ok, first just closing his eyes. Easy enough, right? Wrong.
He closed his eyes for what felt like an hour, so probably 15 minutes, and it didn't work at all!
So counting sheep it is.
He tried to imagine the sheep, but they didn't look good enough, so he focused more; and while they looked better, he was even more awake than he was before.
Maybe curling up to preserve warmth? Nope. Still cold.
So what option was there besides walk across the room and hop into bed with Kyoya? Well, in Tamaki's opinion, none!
So he got up, not even bothering to wrap the blanket around himself, and forced himself to walk on the cold floorboards across to where Kyoya lay.
"Hey Kyoya, you awake?"
At that, Kyoya shifted, but was still very much asleep, so Tamaki gave up, and flopped into Kyoya's bed.
That woke Kyoya up.
"Why are you in my bed, Tamaki."
"You know why! You gave me that horrible scratchy blanket and I couldn't fall asleep because I was so so cold which meant the only logical solution, obviously, was to steal your bed!"
"Uh-huh, well I'm not moving so I guess we're sharing"
"Fine by me" Tamaki emphasized with the turn of his head and crossing of his arms.
He then was caught of guard by a pair of arms dragging him down and cuddling him close.
"H-hey! I'm not even under the covers yet!"
"Shut up I'm sleeping."
And with that, they both fell asleep.
