Bella had loved Disney's Snow White for as long as she could remember. It was the first Disney movie she ever saw, and it helped her learn to talk (she liked to be the echo in Snow White's wishing well).
She didn't know if she liked the Brothers Grimm Snow White, though. There was no singing, the dwarves were all the same, and there were lots of other icky things in here. The most disturbing part for Bella was that Snow White was only seven in the old fairy tale, and Bella was seven...
Bella looked up from her book of Tales from the Brothers Grimm and asked, "Mama, am I as beautiful as the day?" That was how seven-year-old Snow White was described.
"You're more beautiful than any day down here, Bellina," Angel said fondly, but that made Bella feel worse. That was what made the evil queen go after Snow White. Worse, this was a very old version of Snow White, and the evil queen was Snow's own mother, not her stepmother.
Papi reminded Bella a lot of the Evil Queen already, with Vox as his magic mirror, but reading the fairy tale made it worse. If Bella was seven years old, and as beautiful as the day, would that make Papi come after her, more?
