With You, I'm Not Alone

Summary:

Your parents who had business abroad had entrusted you to Kinich's household before they go.

Notes:

If you want to find out what fic inspired me, it's actually the Under One Roof by Poppy1314 featuring Karma Akabane x Reader. I find the fic tooth-rotting fluff. And a bit of Blue Box, since I find the idea of moving into another household so cute.

Your parents had gone out for a business trip abroad, leaving you alone.

Not exactly alone, though. Before they go, they led you to your neighbor's household -Kinich's household and asked his parents for a temporary stay. And of course, they agreed.

Although being close neighbors, Kinich and you never talk to each other for long. Every conversation made was to greet each other if you both meet on the way home. He and you went to the same school, studied in the same class, but never once did you two talk to each other. Well, once in a blue moon, you two would, but that was because of projects or anything work related that forced you to interact. So the idea of staying under the same roof as his was actually quite boring, as you assumed you and he would still never talk to ech other. But you could talk to his parents. They were kind and easy to talk to.

With Kinich's parents' help, you moved your things into your temporary room which you would temporary stay in. Kinich helped, begrudgingly of course, and greeted you with a very bored tone then locked himself in his room. You assumed it was because he didn't like socializing. You weren't a fan of socializing either, so that you could sympathize.

Evening came, and you were helping his parents prepare dinner. They happily commend you as you helped them cooking, and they would tease you, saying you could be their future daughter-in-law. Kinich who was preparing the dishes and you blushed furiously, and tried to drive the conversation elsewhere. You all were merrily laughing together except for Kinich who kept his usual poker face, when there was a loud ring of his father's phone.

"If you'll excuse me." His father went out of the kitchen to listen to whoever called him. A minute later, he waved at his wife and called her outside. They both discussed something. His wife looked worried, and would often glanced at you both, further fueling your curiosity. You even heard Kinich's mother said something about he wasn't too incompetent to look after a girl, which earned them a suspicious glare from him. After 15 minutes of arguing and with his wife nearly raised her voice at her husband in protest to whatever they were discussing about, they returned to the dinning table where Kinich and you had both prepared while waiting for them to finish.

"I'm afraid that we got a call from our manager to have another business trip." Kinich's mother began, then she heaved a big sigh. "Kinich, I'm trusting you that you would protect this young lady, right?" She eyed him suspiciously, and a bit challenging. Kinich scoffed. "As if I can't do such a simple task." He muttered. Then his mother turned to look at you, who were now stiff and frozen like a statue.

"Would it be… inappropriate for me to be under the same roof with a guy when I'm barely 16?" You blurted out. In fact, that wasn't your most concerning problem, it should be whether you and he could get along without his parents' help. But you couldn't just say that, it would be quite offensive to Kinich (no offense, he looked like he would ignore anybody who'd approoch him). No sooner did you utter your worries, his parents laughed.

"You're a funny little one, aren't you?" His father chuckled. "That should be the last thing you would be worried about. We guarantee that our boy won't do anything to you. But don't hesitate to call us if he couldn't control his desires. We will give him a nice, long talk on your behalf." Kinich and you blushed immediately, with him quickly to avert his eyes from everyone and muttered incoherent complaints.

"I'll keep that in mind…" You struggled to answer his parents with difficulty.

Well, it seemed that you were under Kinich's care from then on, so it should be best if you'd learn how to adapt to his person.

'Great, mama and papa, what did you two got me into?'
