Chapter 1: A Peaceful Night [Sx5 x Sx9]

Summary:

aww cute little guys

Chapter Text

Sx9 is currently at Sx5’s dormitory. They’ve been visiting them too frequently now, which has caused some speculation from other students. If you asked So5, they’d say they think they’re dating. If you asked Sp9, they’d just say they’re just close buddies.

“You can pick the movie.” Sx5 nudged the remote towards Sx9.

“I…I actually don’t mind whatever we watch. I’m fine with anything.” Sx9 nudged it back.

“But….”

Sx9 gently rubbed Sx5’s forearm. “I insist.”

“Okay..” Sx5 reluctantly reached for the remote to start scrolling on some streaming platform. Sx9 wrapped an arm around Sx5’s waist and pulled them closer so they could lean on them. If you looked really closely, you could see a faint flush on Sx5’s cheeks behind their mess of hair.

Eventually, they managed to find a movie. It was some cheesy rom-com. Not that Sx9 minded. In fact, they thought it was cute that Sx5 chose that.

About 20 minutes into the movie, Sx9 realized that Sx5 wasn’t even paying to the movie. At least not consistently. Every few minutes, their gaze drifted away from the screen, only for it to snap back whenever Sx9 shifted beside them.

Sx9 smiled a little. “You picked this because you wanted to watch it,” they murmured.

Sx5 stiffened almost imperceptibly. “I picked it because everything else looked bad.”

“Mhm.”

“It’s true.”

Sx9 chuckled softly. “I didn’t say it wasn’t.”

Onscreen, the movie’s leads were in the middle of some over-dramatic confession scene. Sx5 made a face immediately. “This is unrealistic.”

“You say that every time people confess in movies.”

“Because nobody talks like that in real life.”

Sx9 tilted their head. “How would you know?”

“…Statistically speaking.”

“That… doesn’t answer my question.”

Sx5 opened their mouth, paused, then reached for the bowl of snacks instead. “You’re distracting me from the movie.”

“The movie you weren’t watching, hm?”

Sx5 paused. “You come here too much,” They muttered quietly.

Sx9 blinked. “…Do you want me to stop?”

Instantly, Sx5’s fingers slightly tightened around the edge of the blanket. “No.”

Sx9 looked at them carefully now, expression softening into something gentler. “Okay,” they said simply.

Sx5 stared stubbornly at the screen after that, visibly refusing eye contact. But they shifted closer anyway.
