Chapter Text
It was a warm Autumn day with a slight breeze in the air when she first met her.
Jinshi stepped into the libary in search of Gyoukou's whereabouts. But the minute she stepped toward the study area she was suddenly swarmed by a group of girls. Both older and younger than him. As Jinshi tried to politely push past them she caught word of their whisperings to each other.
"Isn't Jinshi just so dreamy," one remarked. "I know right! He's totally the cutest boy ever!," another one commented.
Boy. That painful reminder of what she was. That constant agonizing that she had to deal with every hour, day, every year. Despite being a girl, she was still assigned a boy at birth, no matter how much it hurt her. But yet, there was nothing she could do about it.
"Oh Jinshi, there you are!," A cheerful voice quickly interrupted his spiraling thoughts. Oh right! With all of the commotion Jinshi had completely forgotten that she had stepped into the libary hoping to find Gyoukou to see if they had a student council meeting today. As Gyoukou made her way towards Jinshi the girls around him dispersed leaving only the two of them. Along with Gyoukou's usual four shadows, although Jinshi couldn't quite seem to remembers their names, the girls faithfully followed Gyoukou all the time. And that's all she knew about four.
But then she noticed a fifth girl with them. Before Jinshi could get a better look at her Gyoukou interrupted his thoughts again. "Hey Jinshi, I was wondering if we had a student council meeting today?," she asked with a curious smile.
"Actually I came into here to ask you the same thing," She replied with small smile. That's right all she ever needed to do was smile, then everything would eventually work out. At that moment Gyoukou let out a small chuckle like she always did whenever she found something slightly amusing. Welp, if it really was that important then the two of them would have remembered it.
"There isn't one today, but there is one tomorrow," it was the fifth girl who Jinshi had never seen before. "What would I ever do without you Maomao," Gyoukou let out with another bright and cheerful smile. Maomao, that was her name. As Jinshi studied her she noticed that the girl was a good few inches shorter than her, perhaps a year below her. But as Jinshi was studying her with quite intent, Maomao scowled at her. As if she wasn't more than a caterpillar.
While Gyoukou's four shadows scolded Maomao for giving such looks to their upperclassmen men, Jinshi was filled with absolute pure bliss. Jinshi couldn't quite explain this feeling, but something about her dark green, shiny hair, round bright blue eyes, and the look of pure disgust that marked her face made Jinshi want to see her more. Want to be with her more, spend every day with her just enjoying simple moments like this.
Wait, could Jinshi possibly like Maomao? Like in a romantic way?
