Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Prologue Natsuki’s POV—

Growing up, it was just dad and me. We didn't have much, but we made it work. He had a lot of jobs, working long hours to take care of me. I got along fine. My aunt always checked in on me, asking if I met any new people and how I was doing in school. Since my mom had passed after my birth, Aunt Akiko said Dad has been more of a mess than she was losing her sister. She helped around the house in between her own life and did her best to prepare me for mine.

I was never quite sure what she meant until it was time to pick a high school. Aunt Akiko told me she had a place for me to live in Miyagi prefecture. She and Mom had lived there when they were high schoolers. All I had to do then was pick a school nearby, and I would have the house, as long as I took care of it. We settled on Karasuno since it was the closest and fitting enough education-wise.

Now it's almost time for the new school year. Akiko really wants me to make friends, who knows, maybe I will… that is, if I can even talk to anyone. I don't know much about this new place, but at least I won't be the only new student, right? I hope this goes okay, more for dad and Akiko’s sake than my own, though. I just want to get through it without too many issues. At least I know Akiko kept Mom's flower room from before she passed, so at least I don't have to start over in that aspect.
