As the sun rises light peaks through the curtains illuminating the room in which Yuji itadori and his dear boyfriend Megumi Fushiguro lay intertwined in bed. the sunlight pours into their shared bedroom of the apartment the two bought together shortly after graduating from jujitsu high.
As always Yuji is the first to wake since he has work earlier than Megumi. He knows he should be getting ready for the day ahead of him but he can stop himself from looking at the sleeping face of his beloved boyfriend. Megumi has been so tired since he’s started working for his dad Gojo. The old dude keeps dropping his extra work on Megumi since he’s new so he’s been exhausted all week but right now his usual tired or stressed look is replaced by the calm look of sleep.
After a while Yuji decides he should probably start getting ready for work similar to Megumi he’s gotten a job through connections he works alongside one of his closest friends named Todo at a construction site where he can put his strength to good use.
Before leaving he prepares two containers of food for himself and Megumi he leaves a note on Megumi’s container for him at lunch. As Yuji puts on his work boots Megumi emerges out of the bedroom his hair is a black spiking mess and his face indicates he’s not entirely awake yet. Yuji holds back a giggle as he gazes at his beautiful boyfriend.
“I’m off for work your lunch is in the fridge make sure to grab it before you leave!” Yuji says with a warm smile.
Megumi mumbles a response before kneeling down and giving Yuji a goodbye kiss on the cheek. Before heading into the bathroom to shower. Megumi’s shift technically starts in 30 minutes but everyone knows that Gojo won’t be there for at least another hour or two so as long as he’s there before Gojo he’ll be fine.
Yuji’s commut to work is rather simple he takes the first train alone usually pressed against the wall to make room for the other passengers who are also getting to work or school it’s not bad but it gets much much worse on the second train since that’s where he meets his work buddies Todo and Hakari. The three of them are quite large men so they try to find the most out of way spot on the train as to not annoy the other riders.
Yuji listens half heartily to Todo as he talks on and on about his favourite Idol while Hakari texts on his phone probably talking to his fiancé Kirara. She forced him to get the job after he gambled a ton of cash away in some betting website or she’d call off the engagement and he was still pretty bummed out about being forced into a job.
They finally made it to their destination and almost immediately got to work.
Yuji spent most of his time hauling bricks around and helping the smaller employees lifted the heavy items only stoping for his lunch break that he spent at a local park with another friend of his Nobara. She works in a clothing shop nearby and they have the same lunch schedule so they often meet up to have lunch together at this park (it’s a half way point between both of their jobs).
Nobara spends most of the lunch complaining about her girlfriend’s homophobic cousin who has been causing them problems even after Maki decided to distance herself from her extremely toxic family. Megumi and Maki are cousins too Yuji isn’t sure about all of the details but he now’s Megumi’s bio dad also distanced himself from the family he doesn’t think that he was gay though has heard a little bit about a friend of Megumi’s dad who would come over a lot when they were little and take care of Megumi and his sister Tsumiki.
After lunch Yuji finishes up his work for the day and heads home their apartment is always a lot quieter when he returns since Megumi is often forced to work late. Yuji takes a shower and then starts to prepare dinner throwing on a show in the background. Usually Megumi prepares dinner for the two of them but since he started his new job he’s been returning later and later usually exhausted so Yuji decides it would be nice of him to surprise his boyfriend tonight.
By the time his done it’s almost 7 pm and right on time Megumi opens the door as Yuji plates the food. “Welcome home! how was work?” Yuji asks.
Megumi doesn’t answer he walks in and looks at the food on the table
“you didn’t have to do this you should be resting after your work day.” Megumi says as he stares at the foot
“I know but you’ve been working so hard I thought I could help out-“
Before Yuji finishes his sentence Megumi pulls him into a loving kiss before pushing his face into Yuji’s chest. Yuji wraps his arms around Megumi feeling the slightly smaller man melt into his embrace.
“Let’s eat before the food gets cold and how about afterwards we can watch a movie!” Yuji says smiling down at Megumi.
They eat together as Yuji tells Megumi all about his day and Megumi tells him about Gojo getting scolded infront of the entire office by his husband Geto for forgetting his lunch for the third time that week. The two of them giggle together. Even if Yuji wasn’t there himself he can definitely picture it.
After dinner Megumi cleans the dishes as Yuji picks a movie to watch he ends up pick one of the human earthworm movies and press play as Megumi curls into Yujis lap. The two of them sit together in silence as the movie plays only interrupted occasionally by Yuji spilling a fact or two about the film.
20minute in Yuji notices that Megumi’s stopped responding to his facts he looks down to see Megumi has fallen asleep in his lap. He turns of the movie attempting to make as little sudden movements as possible as to not wake his sleeping boyfriend before he pulled the man he held most dear into his arms as he two feel into a deep sleep.
