Middle School Octotrio but its just stuff that happened to me and my friends in Middle School

Summary:

Middle school is weird.

Its no exception under the sea.

Notes:

So I'm leaving eighth grade and going to highschool! Yay!

Yes ik I'm young, shut up.

Yes most of this happened to me and my friends. I did alter some things to fit the characters.

But this is my little tribute to my years in 6th-8th grade.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Azul was never ready for middle school. He knew it was harder, bullies got meaner, and it was just straight up weird.

But Azul hadn't expected to befriend two of the most terrifying and intimidating eels in the entire school. Jade and Floyd. The two were an eccentric duo, and perhaps the weirdness of the them would cancel out the weirdness of middle school.

Two negatives do make a positive right?

March 1st, 6th grade year.

Azul hadn't wanted to be dragged into the Ocean Blue Middle School's cheerleading squad. But unfortunately, those bitches his dear friends, had dragged them into it with threats words of encouragement.

"Cmon Octy!~ It'll be fuuun~" Floyd had cooed at him three weeks ago.

"I'm sure it'll be an enjoyable experience for all of us, Azul," Jade backed up his twin.

So now the three were on the edge of a sand field, holding pom poms in a triangle formation with Prince Rielle at the front as the cheer captain, cheering for the first game of the season.

In between cheers, that Azul barely had time to memorize, he saw out of the corners of his eyes three boys laying on their stomachs. They had their phones propped up on the sand. Azul's stomach dropped. Those boys were taking photos of them. Indecent photos.

Azul had tried to get the coach's attention.

"Coach. CoaCH. COACH!" Azul had whispered-screamed to them. Except they hadn't heard him so he had to turn to the next option.

"Jade. Jade." Jade turned his head to the octopus and Azul jerked his head to the boys. Jade's eyes sharpened and alerted his brother. Floyd whipped his head around and his smile sharpened but hadn't reached his eyes.

"Aww you minnows wanna take photos of us? Cmon over here I'm gonna squeeze ya~" Floyd said to the group of kids and chased them. The boys screamed at the eel for mercy and the coach screamed at him to get back into position.

Azul muttered under his breaths "Perverts..."

September 3rd, seventh grade year

Recently, Jade had gotten a girlfriend. She was a sweet girl named Ruby, she had short hair and glasses. Jade thought he had liked her, yet about two weeks in, he realized there just wasn't a real spark between them. So during their lunch period, Jade had decided to break it off with her. He had been very respectful and try to put it gently to her.

Once he had finished he had moved areas to give the girl space but she had followed him and started ranting and rambling. "Jade please! I prayed to the Sea witch and prayed she'd send me a boyfriend! And then we got together!" She cried and banged on the table, startling Jade. A group of kids had gathered around the table where Ruby had been sobbing. It had gotten so bad where an administrator had to move Ruby away to make Jade feel more comfortable.

Jade. Uncomfortable. That's an achievement.

October 6th, seventh grade year

Due to Azul, Floyd, and Jade being in a large friend group with Ruby, they all decided to stay friends.

Boy, was that a bad idea.

During gym class that day Ruby had been hit by a ball, hard on the stomach and had lifted her shirt up. All three boys had turned their head to the side and Floyd had taken the opportunity to tease the mermaid.

"Put your shirt down! The only one who should see that is Chad~" Floyd dropped the name of her recently appearing crush.

"Floyd, no one even wants to see that," Jade said while covering his eyes.

"Well all you should see is black because you should be dead."

Ruby's words stopped all three boys. Because; What the fuck?

The words weren't even clever. They were just rude and unnecessary.

But Jade, trying to be funny, retorted with "Oh don't threaten me with a good time," and chuckled after.

Ruby smirked and said deadpan "Good I have scissors, I want to see you die."

The three all glanced at each other, a silent communication.

'Did she really just say that?'

Azul quickly took the opportunity to change the subject, before things got ugly.

The entire rest of the day, Jade was offput, but at the same time? Intrigued. He wanted to understand why she even said that.

December 16th, 8th grade year.

Azul was on winter break for his last year in middle school. He was with Jade and Floyd and they had just gotten back from doing some Holiday shopping. That's when Azul had gotten a notification on his phone from the school.

"Dear students, it is unfortunate to announce that Mr.Seb has passed away. We advice you to take the appropriate time to mourn and process your emotions. Please don't keep it to yourself and please do reach out to someone if you need to. Thank you. -Ocean Blue Middle School"

Azul had read aloud the message to the other two. It wasn't unexpected, to be frank. Mr.Seb had been out for weeks on end due to sickness. Jade had bowed his head in respect while Floyd's eyes widened.

"FUCK!" Floyd exclaimed, "Dude that's out AP history teacher. We're so fucked."

"FLOYD!" Azul snapped at the taller eel. "That is completely disrespectful! Show some respect to him!'

Floyd nodded in agreement. They sat in silence for a moment.

Then Floyd spoke up again "But like you do agree we're fucked right?"

"Oh yes."

"Absolutely."

January 7th, 8th grade year.

Azul was heading to his favorite class of the day. Technically it wasn't even his class yet, but everyday before homeroom, Azul would stop at his Biology teacher's, Mr.Uttle, classroom and just hang out there with Jade and Floyd.

While he was waiting outside Mr.Uttle's door, though, Jade came up to Azul and said to him clearly:

"Do not mention the weekend to Mr.Uttle."

Azul questioned why, and Jade continued.

"He was arrested over the weekend. He tried to strangle his partner."

Azul's eyes widened and when the door opened, they had another substitute.

After that day they never saw Miseter Uttle again.

May 14th, 8th grade year.

The year was coming to an end and everything was chaos.

Towards the end of the day Floyd, Jade, Azul, and a few other friends of theirs were waiting to be picked up by their mothers. Whilst they were waiting, Azul sighed dreamily. "I miss the boy I like..." He said staring off into space. Azul had developed a crush on this boy and constantly spoke about him. Floyd was honestly sick of it and so, playfully Floyd burst out saying a not nice word that starts with f and rhymes with 'gag' repeatedly.

That went on for about five seconds until the group burst out with wide eyed shocked stares;

"Floyd!"

"Floyd! Your mom!"

The words died in his throat as he whipped around to see his mom, Mrs.Leech. Suddenly his demeanor changed.

"Fa- Hi mama!' Immediately laying the sweet, innocent act for his mother. Luckily she hadn't caught on or else Floyd wouldn't have seen the ninth grade.

As the year finally ended, Azul realized how much he was going to miss his school.

And he was wrong, the weirdness of Floyd and Jade hadn't counteracted the weirdness of middle school.

Azul didn't get a 'normal' three years, he got an interesting set.

And he, and he twins, were okay with that.

Notes:

There would be more stuff for 6th and 7th grade except I cannot remember shit from those years.

R.I.P my history teacher, I hope she's doing well.

Thank you for reading <3
