In the vast ocean of outer space, countless stars twinkled in the darkness, illuminating the solar system with timeless light. Both the number of stars and vacuum of space were seemingly endless, just like someone's idea of universal domination.
That someone was none other than Ignignokt.
Ignignokt, the leader of the Mooninite species, was currently leaning against a rock, gazing upwards at the stars, mentally trying to count them all.
To him, the stars were a sign of how gigantic the solar system was, showing how many different aliens lived together in some sort of galactic neighbourhood.
And he wanted to rule it.
Ignignokt was deep in his own thoughts, mentally consumed by the fantasy of ruling over the entirety of the cosmos, having billions of various beings bowing down to him and singing his praises. The thought brought a faint smile to his face.
He closed his eyes for a moment, as if to envision his desires more clearly, being worshipped, being loved, being rich…
His eyes snapped open when he felt the presence of someone leaned down beside him, placing a bottle of beer into his lap. Quickly, he turned his head, and his eyes softened when he saw it's only Err.
Oh, Err, Ignignokt thought to himself, you'll be my perfect companion for when I take over the universe. He cracked open his bottle and took a sip, relishing in the bitter taste.
“What're you doing out here by yourself, man?” Err asked after taking a gulp of his own beer, “I was wonderin’ where you were.”
“I'm just…thinking, is all,” Ignignokt answered, then paused, shuffling closer towards his partner. “Err, could you imagine ruling over the entire universe? Having everyone on their knees for us?”
Err took another swig of beer as he considered the enriching thought, resting his head on top of Ignignokt's shoulder. “Yeah, that does sound pretty cool,” he grinned, following his partner's gaze towards the stars. “Wouldn't people only be kneeling for you, though? I mean, you're the Digital Ruler, after all.”
“Of course not, I'd make sure that everybody worships you, too. After all, you'd be my right hand man.” Ignignokt spoke, as if he meant everything he said. “Infact, you could be the general of the Mooninite army, which will assist us in taking over the solar system before we move onto other galaxies.”
Err glanced back towards Ignignokt, feeling warm at his words. Clearly, he had thought out everything, from the method of domination to living like a king. To Err, it was somewhat cute to listen to.
“You'd be the best leader ever, man.”
“And you'd be my greatest companion.”
The two Mooninites sat in peace for a while, feeling comfortable in their own bubble. They watched the stars glittering above them, tempting them to reach upwards to grab them.
“Dude, what if we, like, took our army straight to Pluto and blew up the whole planet!” Err suggested, giggling at the mere concept of destroying the Plutonians’ home planet.
“Dwarf planet, Err, it's somehow more pathetic than Earth.” Ignignokt smirked, imagining the look on Oglethorpe's face. “We'd take those two in as prisoners, and have them entertain us.”
“Make them our slaves!!!” Err shouted with excitement, throwing his arms around Ignignokt's neck, puzzling into him.
Ignignokt returned the affection by wrapping his own arms around Err's torso, holding him firmly. The idea of destroying Pluto and keeping the Plutonians as some sort of court jesters was endearing.
“Yes, they'd serve us and entertain us. If they either refuse or do an awful job…”
“FEED ‘EM TO THE GORGATRON!!!”
Err, clearly tipsy from his beer, pressed a kiss against Ignignokt's cheek, getting more and more excited with the idea of destroying the Plutonians. Ignignokt pressed a kiss on Err's forehead, admiring his partner's enthusiasm.
Err threw his head upwards towards the stars again. “The stars! They'll belong to us!” He cackled like a maniac. “We'll rearrange them! Make ‘em say “DA MOON RULEZ”!!!’”
“Indeed we will, Err,” an idea bloomed within Ignignokt's mind, one he couldn't help but smile at. “Earth shall also be at our mercy, and we'll be able to destroy the Aqua Teens, once and for all.”
“YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!!! KILL THE FRYMAN!!!” Err demanded, giggling as Ignignokt ruffled his hair. “SHOOT HIM STRAIGHT INTO THE SUN!!! LET HIM BURN!!!”
Ignignokt failed to suppress a giggle, clearly enthralled by Err's erratic behaviour. Of course, the concept of getting rid of The Fryman was one he loved to relish in, it would be the most effective form of revenge for all of the times he had gotten in the way of their schemes.
“Perhaps we'll keep the Meatman for entertainment, too. As for the Cup…” the Mooninite tilted his head in consideration, unsure of what he'd unleash upon the man who reeked of sour milkshake.
“THROW HIM INTO DEEP SPACE!” Err suggested, slowly starting to calm down. He cuddled into Ignignokt's body, resting his head against his partner's neck.
“One day, Err,” Ignignokt assured Err, gently rubbing his back, starting to feel tranquil. “The Universe will be ours, and we'll be praised and worshipped by all, while living in a prestigious home, built for us specifically.”
He glanced towards the stars one last time, feeling serene.
It was just him and Err, laying peacefully together as the endless void of space loomed above them, considering acting upon taking over the universe.
It would be far from easy to accomplish, of course. They'd have to first build an army, then take over the separate planets in the solar system, and then move onto other galaxies, but he was content, for now.
As long as he had Err by his side, Ignignokt didn't exactly care about his social status.
Looking down, he saw that Err had fallen asleep. It was strange how the small Mooninite could bounce between hyper and peaceful, as if his body decided when he was tired and when he was lively.
Ignignokt slowly began to stand up, careful not to wake up Err. Leaving the discarded bottles of beer, he began to trek towards his spaceship, deciding to call it a night.
He stood for a moment, looking around the moon's vast land, the surface glowing underneath his boots.
All was calm, and for now, it was good enough for Ignignokt.
