Chapter Text

Knock, knock. "Hey Mango, it's mee, Auri~" Aureli draws out in a sing-song tone.

Aurelius, or Aureli as she prefers to be called, decided to visit Mango's house after 2 weeks of silence from the guy. He hasn't replied to her plans to meet up at the park last week, or the countless concerned texts, and even Mahogany hasn't seen them, and they're his regular customers. He's somehow gone radio-silent.

No response. Huh, Gold should have slammed open the door by now. "Helloooo? Anyone home?" Is he busy? For two weeks, though? What job did he get into this time? Nothing could've been as bad as Rocket Corp, the hours there were insane. But even then, Mango always managed to find time to meet up..

And not forgetting Gold too, Mango couldn't be that busy, having to take care of his son.

She sighs and turns to leave, but as she does so, her ears catch a faint swirling noise from the house. The unnaturalness of the sound piques her curiosity, prompting her to try the handle.

Click.

The door, to her surprise, opens, and slides away a.. what? Is that a staff? It's a long, slender, copper-coloured rod, splitting into 2 parts at the top like a tuning fork with a bigger gap in the middle. She's pretty sure Mango is just an old orange man, not a king or whatever. The idea of Mango sitting on a throne, crown perched atop his head and frown on his face, made her scoff. Yeah, no.

Something is definitely wrong here, though.

The sunny-hued stick carefully treads over the staff(?) and walks into the house.

It's a mess.

Something happened to the two.

The ground is covered in a layer of dust, more of those staffs with different designs are strewn about the place, a scattered mountain of books lay on Mango's desk, and the empty wall that Aureli kept asking Mango to fill up is now filled with a manic web of physics calculations and a central drawing of.. is that Mango?

A cold feeling of dread settled in her chest.

It was Mango. Holding one of the staffs and creating a swirling black hole-thing to apparently take down that popular kids' game--Minecraft. And further to the right, it was Gold. Being sucked into Minecraft. Crossed out.

What?

No.

Nonononononononono.

Aureli was spiraling, her chest tightening so hard she choked on her sobs.

Goldie, oh my sweet little Gold..

Tears hot and frantic blurred her vision, the cold air scraping against her throat as her breathing turned into ragged, shallow gasps. Her hands shook violently against her sides as she shakily raised them up to cover her mouth in a gasp, her thoughts becoming a chaotic mess as she couldn't block out the horrific truth on the wall.

How? How could Gold be-?

And Mango..

He's out for revenge, isn't he.

Notes:

Sooo what do you think? Too fast/short, probably, for a first chapter? ^^'
I'm gonna upload the next chapter whenever I have time--maybe tomorrow, lol--I'm so excited to write this fic!
I also, as written in the title, have no clear plan for this fic, and no tags lol (I have never done this before, I'm js winging it ;-;'), sooo this fic will go wherever it feels like going.
The author does not write the fic. The fic writes itself.
