Chapter Text
I never thought id lose. All of that work, the days and nights of training and pain.. And i lost.
Ein felt weak. His body torn and almost completely shredded as he lay on the cold yet soft snow, snow he had ruined with his own blood. His head was spinning, a soft ringing creeping up his ears. If only he was abit stronger, he could’ve won. He knows that, Aaron just cheated. Aaron just caught him by surprise and Ein couldn’t bare to see that determination fade away yet.
Yeah thats it. Ein LET him win..
He would never loose on accident.
A harsh wind bellowed by, pulling snow onto fresh wounds that had long sense been created. The new found cold forced into his skin sent shivers down Eins spine, the man wanting to pull away, to roll over so the small shards of ice would fall out of his scars. But he couldn’t
All his energy was gone. His skin feeling large and heavy, as if a thin weighted blanket covering him. Bones and muscles weren’t formed right, his own veins and muscle tissues sprayed across the ground around him, it was hard to look at.
Normally someone would be crying by now, screaming in pain and terror, yet all Ein could bring himself to do was lay there.
So he did, he layed there in agony as the snow drifted onto torn apart skin, exposed muscle and bone, ever so slowly burying Ein and any trace of his failures. Hiding his misshapen body, his discolored and unhealthy looking skin, blood that held an unexplained green tint. The snow promising to cover up the world’s biggest mistake.
Ein.
The used to be werewolf, forced to eternally look at the dreary sky, thought back to the events leading to this. How Aphmau had stabbed Aaron, how despite this Aaron got back up, how painful those eyes were.. He hated that man. A coward of a werewolf. Aaron was so naturally powerful, a born alpha, and yet he choose to hide it. The coward. He could imagine the amount of power Aaron could’ve held, the world forced to listen to his every command..
It wasnt fair.
Aaron didn’t DESERVE that power, HE DID
All he’d ever work towards was strength. The ability to be SEEN as someone, ANYONE. But no. That was handed to Aaron on a sliver fucking platter.
He couldn’t help but to try and snarl at the repulsive thought, how ‘hard’ it must be to be born adored. To have people answer your beck and call, people that love you without a cost, that’d treat you as better than life just because you let them live, that’d warship the very ground you walked on…
It all felt so unfair. Even now as he was dying, bleeding out alone, in the cold, scattered across the ground. Dying an undignified death, something only peasants would be worthy of. He could only see how his.. mentor. Would look at him for allowing this, for letting himself die to someone he’d been built to destroy
The disgusted look the man would give him, how he’d glare down at Ein before saying how much of a disappointment he was, that maybe he could earn a second chance. And then crush whatever remained of Eins stomach with his boots heel before leaving him too rot and be devoured by the vultures..
Listening to the nature around him kept Ein acutely aware of how little was around, even now, several minutes after being mauled, not one vulture was in sight, no predator birds, wolfs, bears, not even a fly. Not one of them wanted him. He would die completely alone, only his own thoughts and the cruel snow filled winds to keep him company in his last moments. He’d cry if he weren’t so tired, so exhausted.
Ein didnt want to die this way, to die alone and miserable, to die without even getting to hold his sister one last time… He’d been so cruel to her.. Aphmau was his big sister and he loved her dearly, yet.. something disgusting inside him forced him to grip onto a need too control and keep her close. To never let her out of his sight again. He hated it, how powerful it was, how he had to sit by and watch as what should be his body hurt and manipulate his own kin..
Maybe he could hold hope in her never knowing, in Aphmau never being told she was related to a monster. A failed experiment not even his own ‘parents’ wanted.
His vision started to blur, shapes spurring and becoming one as white blurred to match the gloomy sky. His attatched skins darkening in color as the ends of limbs became a pale blueish purple, his body giving out slowly.
Aaron really wasn’t kidding even he said he’d be left here to suffer his punishment, that there wasnt an easy way out.. And somewhere inside him, Ein knew he deserved this.
He deserved to die painfully, slowly.. He had ruined so many lives, so many people would be worse all because he was alive.. Maybe this was Irenes way of telling him he should’ve just done everyone a favor and killed himself.

It was hard to breathe, his lungs expanding and pushing out any air it could get, the air entering was shallow and useless. His body was failing, his organs, his brain.
He hoped his death would make at least one person happy, that itd save someone who he would’ve been made to kill. Maybe becoming a corpse would allow someone to feel proud of him. Maybe it was his one purpose in life
To die
The thought brought him some comfort, peace in knowing he wouldn’t be his mentors puppet any longer, that in death he’d be safe from a potion. It made him catch his breath, the unsteady and quick breathing now made into sharp inhales and exhales as he tried to cough up whatever had infiltrated his lungs. Slowly he stopped trying
A soft smile tug at his lips as tears rolled down his cheeks

The only sound left in the forest was that of the wind, it tugging at the leaves of the trees, pulling up layed down snow and carrying it elsewhere. It howled and roared at the deserted battlefield, crying out to any nearby forms of life.
But nothing was left to answer its call
… … … … … … … … … … … … …
A voice clawed at his head. It was soft, gentle even, it made Ein grit his teeth. He couldn’t make out what was said, a light beamed in front of him faintly seen through his closed eyes. Opening them only showed a figure in white, someone tall with.. black hair?..
“Come my child..”
..Her child?.. Last he checked his mom wasnt white.. Ein scornfully looked to the figure who’d knelt down and reach a hand to him. She felt ethereal, someone that radiated power and control.. Normally he’d want that for himself, to steal and take whatever made her so godly. Yet as he looked to where her eyes should be all the prior werewolf felt was calm, a soft serenity in the women who smelled faintly of lavender.
Slowly he shifted, his body sore and pained, freeing an arm from under his stomach Ein shakily lifted it. Putting all his strength into this small action, one he failed.
His arm fell inches from the women’s yet she leaned forward and caught it with both hands, treating his arm as if something important and fragile.. Had she not seen what he just did, what he’d done over years to others. That he killed and abuse and manipulated people all because … He didnt know why she thought he was worthy of such kindness. He was certain he wasnt.
“I can feel your pain young one.. You ache and yearn for your own life, to prove yourself.. I shall grant you this one gift: a second chance to do right by someone.”
Her voice light and kind, one of her hands carefully griped mine as the other cupped my check.. She felt so warm.. Her hand helping to keep Ein looking up to her without the strain of gravity working against him.
”You wont get to do over your whole life, im afraid that those you hurt need to recover without you. I shall place you in a world that needs help, its broken and needs someone to give an outside solution.. Ein, i am counting on you too be that someone… Please… Do the right thing.”
