Izuku and Katsuki have been living together for 8 years now, ever since graduation since they couldn't live without one another, It has been 8 years since Izuku has lost One for all, and 3 weeks since he received the suit from All might, he's so happy to be back on the field, he nearly forgot the feeling when you rush into danger, luckily, he's not as bad as he was in high school. Today they were assigned to patrol near the cities, which he wasn't too worried about that, speaking they haven't had many villains since AFO they luckily haven't had a huge villain like AFO since the final war which Izuku is so thankful for.
"Hey you ready?" Bakugo says from the hallway adjusting his gauntlets to his wrists while waking into their living room
"Yeah nearly!" as the suit is adjusting to his legs, beaming a huge smile.
"Damn nerd don't get too excited, it's just patrol near a boring area." he scowls now walking towards their front door.
"Being on the field again is exiting in general Kacchan, plus I'm happy it's a low crime area so I can get used to using the suit, I'd hate to damage it during the third patrol, you spent so much time and money on it!" Izuku mutters,
"Oi, you think too much, nothing is going to happen, I highly doubt it, plus that suit can handle way more than you think now let's go."
The silence while walking to the train is broken when Katsuki speaks up
"I've been thinking Deku, after patrol want to go to that Raman place you've been talking about the past few days? I have been looking at it, and it sounds pretty good." Katsuki offers, now waiting for the train's arrival.
"Oh yeah! I'd love to!" beaming a smile. after the quick conversation, the train arrives and they get on the train and after 30 minutes, they finally arrive.
Now walking the rest of the way to their destination, while walking they both feel a small tremor beneath their feet, they take a glance at each other and keep walking with caution, Another tremor beneath their feet, this time a lot bigger, both hero's take another glance at each other when a large explosion comes from a building next to them, the explosion leaving their ears ringing and feeling the heat from the fire now spreading through the building, they look at the building In shock for just a moment until they hear civilians suddenly screaming hearing this, both hero's leap into action towards the building.
"Damn it! Deku go to the left of the building I'll take the right, we need to get these people out!" He yells running towards the right of the building, making sure his communication device is working properly
"On it!" he shouts back already heading to the left side of the building also making sure is communication device is working, if they weren't they would be in huge trouble if anything happened
Left side: Deku was quick to leap into action luckily, he checked the first floor of the building seeing 5 people on the first floor he used black whip to grab everyone, finding a safe hole in the building and setting them out fast, but carefully not to hurt anyone, he double checked the first floor then headed to the stairs now on the 2nd floor, another tremor and the floor shifted, the building was becoming more unstable due to all the tremors that keep happening, maybe someone's quirk? he began to panic when he saw the whole left side of the building collapse, 'that's where Kacchan is..' he thought, He shook his head out of thought and started running to the edge of the left side to see if Bakugo made it, a large tremor hit again he knew he was suddenly falling but he then heard Bakugo's voice, he was so glad he was okay but couldn't make out what he said before he let unconsciousness pull him under.
Bakugos side: Bakugo leapt into action just as fast, careful not to use explosions to make the building more unstable, too big of explosions would definitely do damage, he spotted only 3 people on the first floor grabbing the one who couldn't walk while guiding the others, to save time. He made his way back into the building and to the stairs, now on the 2nd floor also, He felt a big tremor, this was too big, it made the whole right side of the building collapse, he started to run to the left side quickly, using his explosions to be quicker, Bakugo made it to the left side ledge, barely making it, he leapt and grabbed blindly, he grabbed a pipe, the wight of doing so shot sharp pains through his shoulder but kept hanging on he saw as the left side was collapsing too, as he looked up he saw Deku also on the ledge, before Bakugo could say anything the whole side was collapsing and they were both falling into the basement, Bakugo noticed Deku was already unconscious all Bakugo could yell was "DEKU!" as his vision flashed black.
Ringing is all he could hear, along with a piercing headache as he cracked his eyes open, he noticed it was the same outcome, black. "What the hell.?" he groaned, as he tried to sit up a wave of dizziness and nausea hit him, "Damn it." he choked 'I definitely have a concussion' he slowly came back to his senses when the dizziness and nausea left he knew it would be back if he moved too soon but he needed to check his injuries.
Bakugo fished for his phone, feeling the floor around him and his pockets, and surprisingly he found it! pulling it out of his pockets, the phone was shattered all to hell, but it turned on, of course he had no signal, so he decided to use the flashlight on the phone, seeing his injuries was his top priority.
Turning the phones flashlight on, he winced at the sudden light, it made his head pound, first he definitely needed to check his head first, since head injuries can lead to death if untreated right away. feeling around his hair he feels a warm and sticky spot. 'blood' he looked at his blood-soaked hand, without a second thought he tore a sleeve off his suit and wrapped it around his head, pulling tighter than necessary, next his chest, arms and legs, they all looked okay other than some deep cuts that would need stitches once they get to a hospital he ripped only what was needed off the sleeve of his suit and only wrapped the very deep wounds.
Bakugo was snapped out of his thoughts and first aid when ragged coughing came from beside him. 'Deku. shit he forgot about Deku.' he shined the light over to beside him, careful to not shine him in the eyes.
"Hey Deku, you awake?" he asked, shifting onto his knees trying to get a view of Dekus face, his head was lolled to the opposite side, so of course he couldn't see his face "Hey shitnerd answer me." "DEKU." he started sounding more worried by the minute. no crawling over to Deku, he nudged him with more force than he expected.
"K'ch'n" he rasped, "W' a- are you okay?" God, he sounded worse than he thought, throat scratchy and needing to cough, he felt awful too, but he was so glad to see Bakugo.
"Hey you good?" now turning Deku's head towards him
"M' my whole-body h-hurts, I-I can't really b-breathe either."
"Shit okay hold on" now worried, he shines the light on Deku, with a warning of course, he shined it on his head first, since he was slurring, the light shined on a deep gash on the side of his head, white showing through the blood, not a lot, but enough for it to be a severe head injury, when he turned to rip another piece of his sleeve off, he saw Deku trying to touch the head wound, acting fast he grabbed his wrist gently.
He sighed "Don't. keep your hand down too."
"M' kay, m' y h- head just hurts." he coughed
Bakugo knew this, his skull was fucking showing, he took the strip of fabric and tied it around Deku's head, and just as much as he didn't want to, he pulled tightly, hearing a groan from Deku.
"Shit sorry" he muttered.
"S' okay" he sighed
Bakugo then moved down to his chest and stomach, his heart dropped as he saw a 1" wide metal bar in Deku's side that oozed blood with every breath.
"Shit"
"W-hat?" he choked
"Deku there's a bar in your side, probably why you're having trouble breathing" He sighed
The bar in Deku's side doesn't go all the way through, which is a good sign that the bar isn't long, it also didn't hit any vital organs, another good sign, still though it bled a lot and was clearly giving Deku trouble breathing though he would need to upgrade the suit for failing in that area.
"Hey you awake?"
"M' yeah"
"Good, you need to stay awake"
Needing to move on, Bakugo checked his arms, only cuts and indents in the suit, again needing to upgrade the suit, no signs of broken bones on either arm luckily, Bakugo relaxed, the only thing that truly worried him was the head injury, seeing Deku relax, he nudged him.
"Oi Deku."
"M' here"
"Good"
moving onto his legs, there was an open fracture, which is when the broken bone is sticking out of the skin, it's a nasty injury, but will not leave long term damage. this time Deku was staying awake and with Bakugo counting his breaths, he continued to check for more major injuries, luckily there weren't any, but the whole bottom leg of his suit was broken. He definitely needed to give the suit a big upgrade since he was wrong about what it could handle.
"Kiri, look" mina said while showing her phone. "It looks like a large building collapsed, at least 3 floors, it looks like, think we should check it out?" mina asked.
"For sure, wait that's the street Deku and Bakugo were patrolling, why aren't they helping?" he asked getting worried
"Oh my god, what if they are there!?" mina is now starting to get worried as well
"I'll shoot Momo and Jiro a text, they're patrolling too and they're great for rescuing!" mina continued
"Sounds good, let's start heading over there." Kirishima states
mina: Hey emergency, there was a building collapse where Deku and Bakugo were patrolling were heading to that area, but we'll need help!
Jiro: got it, my earphones will be a lot of help finding where they might be in the building.
Momo: I agree. we'll get there as soon as possible; I already alerted Emergency services to be at the building.
Mina: Good, us too, were already halfway there, trying to go as fast as possible!"
As soon as the 4 heroes arrived on Sene, they saw the extent of the building damage and rushed towards hurt citizens luckily, they weren't too injured, but medics tended to who needed it most first. Jiro stuck her earphone jack into the concrete and listened, coughing and ragged breathing filled the silence, then Bakugo yelling.
"Hey Bakugo!" she yelled over her shoulder
"Let's get them out then" Kirishima said, activating his quirk
They started slowly moving rubble, being cautious of how they move it and where, since they're in a pocket, it can collapse on them, digging for definitely over 30 minutes, melting the concrete with controlled acid attacks, Kirishima using his hardening and picking up big pieces, and Momo working on the ground, creating bandages, oxygen packs and anything more they will need to provide first aid.
Bakugo is making sure to keep himself awake, Deku feel asleep a bit ago, he tried to keep him up but realized it wasn't working, he keeps counting his breaths and the break between them his makeshift bandage on his head already a deep crimson, getting more worried, his thoughts were interrupted by a tremor, not from below, but above, 'That's not good shit' suddenly light peered through the top, making his headache way worse due to the light. The heavy slab of concrete threatening to collapse above, Bakugo went to hold it, instead, Kirirshima appeared from above it, going under the huge slab.
"Hey man! -"
"Get Deku out now. he lost conscious a bit ago; you need to get him out first." Bakugo was sounding more tired
Bakugo suddenly fell forward
"Woah hey -" still holding the slab of concrete
Kirishima couldn't catch him, so Bakugo fell forward, his face meeting concrete. Soon all 4 students were helping them get out. Bakugo and Deku were out of the building both unconscious, Deku was loaded into an ambulance first, since his injuries were worse, Bakugo was loaded into one shortly after Deku, and both ambulances headed to the hospital.
Paramedics rushed Deku to the OR while Bakugo was rushed to a recovery room, his shoulder was relocated and braced, while bandages covered his arms and legs lightly stitching in the deeper gashes in his arms and legs, lucky there weren't too many his suit did shield him from many injuries.
Deku now out of surgery was put in the same room as Bakugo, still sleeping from the anesthetic, thick bandaging around his head, a cast on his former broken leg, the same bandaging on his arms and legs that Bakugo has, and thick bandages around his waist, Bakugo then fell asleep knowing that everything was going to be okay.
"kacchan?" Deku winced when he heard his voice, so rough sounding.
"Deku? you good?" he replies.
"M' tired, how are you doing?" he sighs.
"Fine, you scared the shit out of me y'know? I told you not to fall asleep shithead" he mutters.
"S'rry about that." He sunk into the hospital bed.
"Don't apologize dammit, just don't do it again."
I don't think I plan on being in a collapsing building again kacchan." he laughs
"Oi you smartass" he chuckles
Their hospital door slid open, the 4 students that helped them, All Might, Inko and Mitsuki were walking in, already greeting the heros.
"Hey young Izuku, how are you feeling?" All might said with a smile.
"Izuku! you need to stop scaring me like this! you're going to give me a heart attack!" Inko cried
Mitsuki and Bakugo were having their moment of course while Izuku was having his, both moms were worried of course, but they both showed that differently, Bakugo's mom scolding quietly while Inko was sobbing her head off hugging Deku while the 4 students sit quietly just glad their friends are alright.
Two peaceful weeks now out of the hospital, they finally decide they are healed enough to try that Raman place they wanted to try before disaster hit, Bakugo was right, it was a really good place.
