Work Text:
Soushirou huffs as the call ends with Konomi. “Annoying brother.” He turns around from the window to look at the sofa.
“It's done?”
Soushirou hums, approaching the sofa. He slumps down next to the man, immediately leaning on the broad chest. “Coming unannounced to Tachikawa and questioning Okonogi-chan's strategy. ‘Premium’ plan, he said.” He starts to rant. “Can you believe that, Gen-kun?”
Gen chuckles, pausing his game to pull the younger man closer. His omega is so cute when he's frustrated like this. “It's fortunate that you're here instead of there.” He murmurs, kissing Soushirou's forehead. He lets his pheromone out, soothing the omega.
“But yet, he was still able to irk me,” Soushirou mutters, leaning his body entirely on Gen.
“Want me to visit the Sixth to annoy him?” Gen asks.
“Please, you two would destroy the whole Kansai region.” Soushirou chuckles. “Especially if that stupid brother can smell me on you.”
“Wouldn't that be a perfect way to introduce myself to the Hoshina family?” Gen smirks cheekily.
Soushirou rolls his eyes as he pinches Gen's side, earning a yelp from the Alpha. “Let's not.” He says. “And you already met the important members of my family. No need to waste your time on that white fox.”
“It's amazing that your parents and brothers are able to hide our relationship from him.” Gen remarks as he lies down, dragging Soushirou with him.
Now Soushirou is lying on top of the alpha. “It's not that hard. Ichirou-nii is an idiot.” He murmurs. “Everyone in the Force knows our relationship except for him.”
Gen laughs, resting his head against the armrest. “He sure is.”
They stay like that for almost an hour before Soushirou finally gets up. “Come on, we need to get back to work.” He says, nudging his alpha to get up.
“It's boring, Sou~!” Gen whines.
Soushirou doesn't budge, though. He stares at the Alpha. Gen winces, getting the silent order. He gets up from the sofa, pocketing his switch.
“Shall we go, Sir?” Gen asks, offering his arm.
“Good alpha.” Soushirou coos, resting his hand on Gen's elbow.
The two get out of the Alpha's office.
“When will your meeting be done?” Gen asks, accompanying his omega.
“Who knows,” Soushirou replies. “But I have to continue the synchronising with No. 10 after the meeting. So, I'll be late.”
“I'll be with you for the synchronisation,” Gen says without much thought.
“The more the merrier, I guess.” Soushirou hums.
They stop in front of the meeting room. “Show ‘em how smart you are, Sou,” Gen whispers as he leaves kisses all over the Omega's face. “Let everyone know that my omega is the smartest person in the room.”
Soushirou giggles, letting the Alpha do as he wishes. “Unlike you, I don't have an ego that needs constant feed.”
Gen grunts, pulling the shorter man into his arms. “Because people praise you willingly. Cause you're the best in everything. Even have the best alpha.” He smirks.
“And you've ruined the moment.” Soushirou sighs, sounding disappointed. “It's over. I'm going in now. So, shoo, go do your work.” He pushes away from the Alpha.
Gen whines, but lets him go.
“See you later, Gen-kun. Love you.” Soushirou leans up, kissing Gen on the lips.
“Love you more.” Gen hums.
He watches as the omega walks into the room. And when the door closes, he already misses the sweet smell. He sighs, walking away from the hallway to go to the field, where his soldiers are training.
“Oi, dumb disciple,” Gen calls out as he stands on top of the stairs. Kikoru pauses mid-jogging, turning to him. “Let's go.” He says, already walking away.
“Wait, stupid mentor!” Kikoru rushes out of the field to walk by his side. “You said we're not training today.”
“Change of plan. Soushirou is going to be synchronising with No. 10 later. So, I need to warm up.” Gen replies, leading the way to the elevator.
“Eh? For what? Are you going to train with him?”
“Of course not. Not yet, at least. Just in case that damn kaiju does anything funny. No. 10 needs to know who he'll deal with if he messes with Soushirou.” Gen clenches his jaw. They get into the elevator leading to the underground.
Kikoru hums. “By the way, stupid mentor, did you hear about another dimension gate opening?” She asks as they wait.
“Yeah, in Tachikawa. Handled by the Sixth and your sister.” Gen grunts.
“They're already done? That fast?” Kikoru blinks in astonishment. “Was it that easy?”
“It's the same kaijus from London. So, we already have the information about their weaknesses.” Gen explains. “And as much as I hate to say this, the Sixth's Captain is the best there is from the West region. Not any better than me, though.”
“The Sixth's Captain is Vice-Captain Hoshina's big brother, right?”
Gen nods his head.
Kikoru hums. “The Hoshinas sure are amazing.”
Gen can't deny that. No matter how much Souichirou irks him, that man is still a highly skilled soldier. “Stupid brother, though.” He echoes what Soushirou said when they were alone.
“Coming unannounced to Tachikawa and immediately demanding stupid things. Okonogi had to call Soushirou for advice.” Gen chuckles, remembering the annoyed expression from the Omega. “So, Sou made the plan for them.”
“Eh? Vice-Captain took the lead from here?!” Kikoru exclaims in awe.
“Of course. In case you forget, dumb disciple, Soushirou is one of the best strategists the JAKDF have.” Gen grins smugly.
They soon arrive at the floor, stepping out of the elevator. “Go change to No. 4 suit.” Gen shooes the younger alpha away.
“I know. I know.” Kikoru rolls her eyes, but walks away to where her numbered suit is.
Gen then goes to where the No. 1 suit is being held.
After a quick change, they go to the training room. And immediately start training. Even though Gen said this training is for a warm-up, he still gives it all.
They train for hours, not slowing down for even a minute. The only reason they stop is when they hear the beeping of the metal doors opening. They stop mid-swing, panting.
“I think that's enough for today.” Soushirou claps his hands.
“Vice-Captain!” Kikoru exclaims, immediately lowering her weapon.
Soushirou grins, stepping into the room. Normal soldiers would be unable to take a step without staggering. However, Soushirou walks as usual.
“You're causing an earthquake through the whole base,” Soushirou says, resting his hands behind him. “I'm starting to get migraine from it.”
Gen rolls his eyes, disactivating his kaiju eyes. “As if.” He rests his weapon against his shoulders.
Soushirou chuckles, shrugging. “You caught me. But, you did give quite a scare to the operators walking by.” He raises his index fingers. “And, I don't need them passing out before they help me with No. 10.”
Gen exhales a breath but nods his head. “Alright, fine.” He lowers his bayonet. “You're done for the day, Kikoru.” He turns to the teen.
“Great job today, Kikoru,” Soushirou adds, smiling.
“Thank you for today!” Kikoru salutes the two before jogging out of the room.
Before Gen can even open his mouth to say something to the Omega, a soldier rushes into the room.
“Apologies for bothering you, Captain Narumi, Vice-Captain Hoshina!” The soldier salutes as he pants.
“What's wrong?” Soushirou asks as Gen grumbles incoherently behind him.
“A-Ah, there's a chopper approaching here. We've been informed that it's holding the Sixth's Captain and Vice-Captain.” The soldier informs the two.
Gen and Soushirou pause.
“Unbelievable.” Soushirou rests his face against his hands.
“Did they say anything about the purpose of the sudden visit?” Gen asks.
“No, Sir!”
Gen scoffs. “Alright, thanks. You're dismissed.”
“Yes, Sir!”
With that, the two are alone again.
“Sou, do you want to see him?” Gen asks.
“Not if I can help it,” Soushirou says, lifting his head from his hands.
“Then, go on and deal with your numbered suit. Your Alpha got this.” Gen assures.
“And let you two kill each other? Yeah, no, thanks.” Soushirou deadpans.
“I should be offended that you'd think it's an equal fight.” Gen huffs.
Soushirou rolls his eyes, walking away from the alpha. “Go change out of your suit, Captain. I'll tell the operators that we're postponing the synchronisation.”
“Race you to the field?” Gen grins, following his partner out of the room.
“The first one arrives deal with the Sixth's captain by himself,” Soushirou says.
“Never mind.” Gen immediately changes his mind.
Gen quickly changes back to his uniform and waits for Soushirou by the elevator. The omega soon arrives, not even surprised that the alpha is waiting for him.
“You've ever dealt with him, no?” Soushirou asks while they're in the elevator. “You've mentioned that you noticed me because I remind you of him.”
“I've already said sorry about that,” Gen mutters. “And yes, we've met a few times. Only during all captains' meetings. Never out of that.” He explains. “And he annoys me more than PR meetings I've attended as the First Captain.”
“Imagine living under the same roof for twenty-one years with him,” Soushirou grumbles.
“Bet the past four years you've had is the best one.” Gen chuckles.
“A dream comes true.” Soushirou grins.
“Then, how about you let this alpha of yours deal with that dumb brother of yours?” Gen smirks, leaning back on the elevator wall. He pulls Soushirou to stand in front of him, arms holding the slim waists.
“I told you, he may annoy me, but he's the future head of the Hoshina family. So, you can't kill him. Unfortunately.” Soushirou sighs at the last word.
“Killing him isn't on top of my list, surprisingly.” Gen shrugs. “Do you know the best way to get into an alpha’s nerve, Sou?”
“Touch their ego?” Soushirou raises his eyebrows.
“That's right. And do you know the best way to do that to an alpha who's also a big brother of an omega?” Gen whispers, leaning closer to his omega. His kaiju eyes glow under the elevator light. “It's to show him that his younger brother has found a better alpha than him.”
Soushirou blinks as his face flushes red. “Gen-kun!” He hits the Alpha's chest. “Don't be indecent. We're at work.”
“I would never.” Gen murmurs, pulling the omega even closer. Soushirou’s head is now resting against Gen's shoulder. “No one is allowed to see how cute you look. Only I can.”
The elevator arrives, and Gen can see who's standing outside as the doors open. Soushirou doesn't even realise they've arrived.
Gen smirks when he sees Souichirou standing in front of the elevator. The ruby eyes turn to Soushirou before turning back to Gen. And just to fuel the fire, Gen nuzzles into Soushirou, scenting him. His arms tighten around the omega, as if staking his claim.
Veins pop up on Souichirou's face. “You-!” Before he can say anything else, the elevator closes again. Gen presses lots of the floor numbers, just so the other alpha can't figure out where they go.
“What was that?” Soushirou lifts his head from Gen's shoulder.
“Looks like we're not needed up there.” Gen grins, tilting his head to look at the shorter man.
“Huh?” Soushirou furrows his eyebrows in confusion.
“Come on, let's just go deal with your suit.” Gen guides them out of the elevator with his arm wrapped around Soushirou’s waist.
“Wait, Gen-kun, what did you do?” Soushirou questions.
“Nothing out of the ordinary. I've been with you the whole time. How could I do something without you noticing?” Gen raises his eyebrows innocently.
Soushirou looks at the Alpha suspiciously. “Fine, don’t tell me.” He mutters.
