One morning in the bustling Comet City on Neotopia, Stonecold was in his office, when an alarm began blaring, it was a crash landing that happened in a field away from civilization, normally this means that Hazard’s wreaking havoc but he would be somewhere in Comet City itself, not at some field away from civilization, but he calls up Officer Nova into his office anyways, just to be on the safe side.
Stonecold: Officer Nova, report to my office immediately!
Nova: Sir, what’s the emergency?
Stonecold: I will brief you once you get here, I don’t want Pink or Green eavesdropping on us.
Nova: Understood Chief!
Nova rushed into Stonecold’s office as fast as she could.
Nova: What’s the emergency Chief?
Stonecold: a crashlanding just happened but thankfully it happened at a field away from civilization and I don’t think it’s Hazard, he would drop directly in the city itself, I need you to investigate the crash.
Nova: on it sir!
An hour later, Nova arrived at the field where the crash had happened and would find a young human boy regaining his consciousness from inside the wrecked and totaled spaceship as he stumbled out.
Sapphire: urgh…. Where am I?
Nova: You are on planet Neotopia, explain yourself.
Sapphire: Who are you?
Nova: … I'm Nova and you are?
Sapphire: I am Sapphire.
Nova: well sir just come to the ship and we’ll get you handled
Nova quickly remembered she flew here without a ship and the crashed ship was outright totaled.
Sapphire: (inner thoughts: I don’t know where I came from! Why can’t I remember?) The last thing I remember was getting blindsided by an asteroid but I don’t know anything else.
Nova: ... I'll just pick you up then.
Sapphire was then lifted up by Nova as she flew him over to the police station.
Sapphire: How are you able to fly? This is an amazing view from up here!
Nova: That’s a need to know basis, and you don’t need to know… but yes it is
Sapphire: Do you know anyone who works for the police on this planet?
Nova: you’ll see soon, just relax and hang on
Sapphire: I am hanging on the best I can.
Nova: Well we’re close so don’t worry for long.
Nova speeds past Nebula and Quasar as the both of them just got back from patrol duty, as she headed straight for Stonecold’s office.
Nebula: Who’s that boy Nova’s carrying?
Quasar: he kinda looks like Starstraw but much paler and no mustache and much neater hair, though his eyes are mismatched.
Nebula: well I guess there’re 3 humans on Neotopia now
Quasar: Come on sis, let’s go spy on Nova and the chief!
Nebula: wait Quasar don-, ah forget it, wait for me!
Once Nova arrived at Stonecold's office with Sapphire.
Stonecold: So this is who had crashlanded?
Nova: yes Chief, his name is Sapphire and that’s all we both know, he lost all of his memories when he crashlanded in that field.
Sapphire: Hello!
Stonecold: I see, so the human you brought back lost his memories.
Nova: Yes Sir, we’ll have to think of something for him while he recovers from it, i suggest he joins us for the time being.
Stonecold: Well we are always open to accepting new recruits, especially at times of need.
Sapphire: I would love to join you, where do I sign up?
However unbeknownst to them, Nebula and Quasar are eavesdropping.
Quasar: So he lost his memories, that’s rough…
Nebula: Well maybe we can help out but we’re not ready for that, we’ll just have to leave it to Nova.
However the door opened, causing both Nebula and Quasar to fall onto the ground comically.
Nova: Nebula!? Quasar!?
Stonecold: Nebula, you and Quasar were supposed to be heading home an hour ago, your shift’s supposed to have been done for the day!
Nova: And what were you 2 even doing?
Nebula: Oh hi Nova, we were just-
Quasar: We heard you were going to hire a new recruit and we wanted to see them in person.
Nova: It’s rude to eavesdrop you know.
Sapphire: I am Sapphire, I crashlanded here when an asteroid blindsided my ship, but I don't remember anything else from before the crash.
Nebula: I am Nebula
Quasar: I am Quasar, we are twins, and Nova’s our older sister.
Sapphire: Nice to meet the two of you!
Nebula: Chief, can he work with us, please? We're good role models for the kids at the school!
Quasar: And we still get the job done. What do you think chief?
Stonecold: Hmm, I guess I can see Sapphire pair up with you two, you can show him around Comet City and help him familiarize himself with the layout of the city.
Nebula squealed in excitement.
Nova: Chief, are you serious!?
Nebula: We will do our best Sir!
Quasar: Relax Nova, we’re not going to drop him into a blackhole.
Nova: sighs fine
Sapphire: When do I start?
Stonecold: You will start tomorrow, but let Nebula and Quasar show you around Comet City so you can get more familiar with the city.
Nebula: Come on Sapphire, let’s go explore the city!
Sapphire: Well, okay.
Sapphire follows Nebula.
Quasar: Don’t worry about us!
Quasar followed Sapphire and Nebula out the door
Nova: Are you sure that’s a good idea to let those two work with Sapphire?
Stonecold: Nope, but they are the only ones who bothered to ask and are eager to help him out.
Nova: I need to make a call…
Meanwhile, Starstraw was beating up a lowly robber when Nova called her on the phone.
Robber: Please… stop…
Nova: Hey Starstraw, sorry to bother you, but we had just hired a new recruit after I found him, he crash-landed earlier and it was how he lost all of his memories, his name is Sapphire and he’s been assigned to work with Nebula and Quasar starting tomorrow, can you make sure those three don’t get themselves killed?
Starstraw: Oh yeah, he’s my cousin from Earth.
Nova: Your cousin?!
Starstraw then shot the robber in the head, killing him.
Starstraw: yeah, i wanted you to meet him at some point, i’ll help out whenever possible.
Nova: Thanks, love you!
Once the three of them are outside the police station, Nebula and Quasar show Sapphire around the city looking at the various banks, schools, zoos, aquariums, museums, parks, and other locations.
Nebula: The neighborhood on the right is where Nova, Quasar, and I live at.
Quasar: and there is the path to the bad side of town, we don’t normally go there
Sapphire: Oh, what’s that new restaurant over there?
Sapphire is looking at the newly opened Solar Shake Shack.
Nebula: oh that’s the Cosmo Diner.
Sapphire: I meant the building straight across from it.
Quasar: oh yeah, Solar Shake Shack makes the best shakes and malts in the entire city, they had just opened this location!
Nebula: Do you want one Sapphire?
Sapphire: Yes, looks very nice.
Nebula and Quasar then brought Sapphire inside the Solar Shake Shack, and it looks a lot like a 1950s style diner with a massive arcade and a bar area.
Sapphire: Oh wow, this place is much bigger than the outside makes it look.
Nebula: Yeah, we don’t know how but hey it means it won’t get crowded here
Quasar: Hey look, the bar is back, maybe we can have those Strong butterscotch drinks.
The three of them then approached the bar, and the barista, Luna, is preparing the machines, and of course, Quasar began flirting with Luna, who was looking at her phone the whole time, uninterested.
Quasar: So does your eye always hypnotize men?
Nebula: Quasar no, no one wants to hear your pickup lines.
Sapphire stopped Quasar from trying to flirt with Luna.
Sapphire: Sorry about Quasar, it’s our first time here, we would like to have whatever shake is the most popular.
Luna: Three interstellar chocolate chip cookie plasma shakes coming right up.
Quasar: Oh come on Sapphire, I was hoping to get her phone number.
Sapphire: I don’t think she was interested, buddy.
Quasar: Na, she does totally dig me
Nebula: I think her phone was more cool then you were
Sapphire: Yeah her interest in you is comparable to that of a brick wall, not interesting at all.
Nebula paid for the shakes as Quasar noticed the arcade area.
Quasar: Sweet, there’s an arcade here!
Sapphire brought his and Quasar’s shake along as he and Nebula looked at the arcade.
Nebula: lets see if they have Star Worm: Attack of the Hawks
Quasar: sis, if they do, tonight will be the best…
Sapphire: Wow, that’s a lot of arcade machines.
Later that evening, Nebula and Quasar brought Sapphire over to their and Nova’s house.
Nova: So how was showing Sapphire around the city?
Quasar: It was the coolest time we had in a long time.
Nebula: Nova, can Sapphire stay with us, please?
Sapphire: Well I don’t really have anywhere to stay, it beats sleeping outside.
Nebula and Quasar gave Nova the biggest puppy eyes imaginable.
Nova: Okay, but Sapphire will be bunking with Quasar.
Quasar: I call the top bunk!
