Chapter Text
*`~ It was just another slow day at school for {----}. Her math homework lay in front of her, she wasn’t even looking at it. Her gaze instead was staring at the orange tinted bottle of medication she was supposed to have been taking every day for the past year, yet it still was completely full. ~’*
*`~ What was even the point anymore? Her grades were failing, her parents rarely even fed her ; she was practically skin and bone. {-----} eyes shifted to the case of beer she had stolen from her parents, then the bottle of pills, and then back to her meds. Tonight was the night she wouldn’t return from her little ‘outing.’ ~’*
*`~ The Pain Will End Tonight. ~’*
*`~ ၄၃ ~’*
*`~ ၄၃ ~’*
*`~ She didn’t even bother saying goodbye to her parents as she slipped out of the house, not like they would care. Her bag contained five bottles of beer, eight bottles of random drugs she had also stolen from her parents, and a box of cigarettes with a small white lighter with neatly hand painted wings ~’*
*`~ She walked though the streets of the city, the heavy smell of smoked blunts and cigarettes burning her lungs with every breath, that scent she would hopefully never smell again.. ~’*
*`~ She found the alley she always went to during these episodes, leaning and melting down the cold brick wall with a heavy sigh. She pulled out her phone, wanting to doom scroll one last time before she went. The videos of the girls who were everything she could have been made her only feel worse, causing her to throw her phone against the wall across from her before digging her pale face into her freezing hands ~’*
*`~ She slowly lifted her head to grab something else from her bag, her sketch book. Her long, bruised fingers slowly started to flip though the pages of the scuffed up white sketchbook with a few small symbols drawn on the front. ~’*
*`~ Elegant drawings of a large god-like figure were present on every page. Its grand wings and long graceful horn followed by its gorgeous mane and tail. Everything about the entity was beautiful...for it was the guardian of her dreams, an Alicorn Deity. . . ~’*
*`~ The Deity had kept her alive the past few months, showing up in her dreams almost every night, giving her hope and encouragement to keep going for a little longer each time. . . ~’*
*’~ A deal came up. A deal that would fix everything. ~’*
*’~ “I can give you my wings, I can give you my body. . . only at the cost of your life and soul.” ~’*
*’~ That’s what the god had told her. . . that’s why she was here. To get her wings, and to be the Deity that brought her many moments of brief peace. ~’*
*’~ Slowly she laid the book out on one of her favorite pages, hoping the deity was watching her as she took her life for the sake of the gods' will. She then took the bottles of beer and the medicine bottles and put them side by side in front of herself. . . ~’*
*’~ {----} had been so distracted by the motive to end her life, that the sound of boots had completely slipped past her senses. ~’*
*`~ “Child.” A low toned voice broke through the silence, making {----} jump, nearly throwing the bottle of beer in her hand. Her fear-stuck eyes slowly turned to identify the source of the voice, and met the firm gaze of a tall man. ~’*
*’~ The man seemed about six foot, maybe an inch taller than that, and was dressed in fine presentable clothing. Two men, about the same height, stood behind him, armed with guns. They both wore a black full-body suit, a helmet that blacked out their faces, and a large tactical vest. . . ~’*
*’~ They all had the same badge. . .just slightly different. The man in front, who had called her child, had a badge that had white letters that spelt out ‘S.I.A COMMANDER 002’. The two armed men had about the same thing, just slightly different reading ‘S.I.A GUARDIAN 012 and 013’. ~’*
*’~ She had been in a state of frozen confusion. She hadn’t realized the supposed commander had yelled out ‘child’ three other times ; only realizing after he snapped a few times in her face. ~`*
*’~ “For the gods sake are you deaf?! I swear everyone head-courters' demands we target are retarded. . . ~`* The man growled, lowering his tone at the rude remark. The two armed men just looked at each other and shrugged. ~`*
*’~ “S-Sorry...!” {----] stammered quickly, looking warily up at the man. She fidgeted with the beer bottle, confused about what was going on. “C-Can I help you I-I’m kinda in t-the middle o-of something...” She added weakly, looking back down at the bottle in her hands with her dark hazel. ~`*
*’~ The man roughly sighed, crouching down in front of the old teen and using one of his long gloved fingers to make her look into his eyes. “ Look kid, what is a thing like you doing out here all alone with all this? “ He asked in the kindest tone he could grasp, using his free hand to pick up one of the medicine bottles. ~`*
*’~ “ I’m just -! “ She stammered, trying to reach for the pills back but was shushed by the man as he continued to look at the pill. “ Really ? A thing like you gonna overdose out here in the middle of nowhere and for what? Some...body that’s not even yours ~? “ He chuckled mockingly, picking up her open sketchbook and throwing the pills back onto the ground. ~`*
*’~ “ H-How did you...? " {----}sputtered but was harshly interrupted. “ We have had our eyes on you for a while. The deity, the dreams,. . . we know it all dear child.” He chuckled, ruffling up her deep brown hair and standing back up and waiting in silence for about a minute. ~`*
*’~ “ Shocked aren’t you? They did say you were a sensitive one...anyways we are getting off topic ~! “ He giggled, flicking his hand slightly to signal the two other men to approach her. ~`*
*’~ “ Why don’t we make a deal instead ~ Give you the same body as that god yet you don’t have to give us anything ~! Well, besides a small contract- What do you say dear Child ~? Believe in a god you see in your dreams or. . .” He purred, crouching back down and lifting up her chin. “ A real living thing that could give you everything you could ever desire ~ “ ~`*
*’~ {----} sat still, her mind running with possibilities and outcomes. . . ~`*
*’~ “ Come on child we don’t have all day. It’s a simple signature. ” He spat, pulling a small contact out of his pocket and one the the guards handing her a pen. ~`*
*’~ She lifted her shaky hand, pressing the pen against the paper, before signing her name without even reading the fine print. ~`*
*’~ The man proudly smirked, putting the paper back into his pocket and softly petting her thick, knotted and dirty hair. “ See now, was that so hard ~? Now, ready to become a beautiful deity dear child ~?” He chuckled, moving his hand down to cup her chin and stare deeply into her eyes. ~`*
*’~ “ . . . Yes. “ She whispered, the word slipping from her mouth. ~`*
*’~ Silence hung in the air for many seconds, before the man dropped her head and stood up. “ Hit her. “ He said coldly as one the men roughly grabbed her, sending her into a panic. Yet the panic was short lived as a small *TINK!* followed by a quick and sharp pain that struck her neck. ~`*
*’~ She weakly groaned, her struggles stopping as her body grew heavy and tired. The last thing she saw was the man scoop her up and hold her gently, while softly rubbing her back. . .maybe even hearing a faint sorry. ~`*
*’~ And Then Everything Went Black.. ~`*
*`~ ၄၃ ~’*
