Chapter Text

After getting bitten by a radioactive spider just downtown, Han Jisung's life has turned upside down. Quite literally.

He can literally hang upside down.

He didn't ask for this, neither did he ask to gain super powers such as the ability to shoot webs from his wrists, or stick to walls and buildings- but sadly time cannot undo itself.

But, he figured, with great power came great responsibility. That's why he became the one and only Spider Man.

At first he was unsure about this path, fighting crime was not his strongsuit. But, he soon got used to it, and now he quite enjoys his crime fighting role. He's like the protector of the city, and he wouldn't undo time of he could.

The one thing he didn't appreciate though, was college.

He was a student, quite a smart one actually- but after all that went down his knowledge certainly decreased, including his grades. He's been so busy fighting weird lizard people and doctors with octopus tentacles that he hadn't found the right time to study. Luckily no one noticed though, apart from one person.

Lee Minho, his roommate slash best friend. Nothing got past him.

Minho noticed when Jisung returned home through his bedroom window at unholy hours in the night, he definitely noticed the gashes on his arms and the bruises on his cheek, there really was no hiding it from him, no matter how many long sleeved t-shirts he wore.

Sometimes Minho would joke around with him a little, saying things like "You didn't show up to class today at the same time that Spider Man was fighting a criminal down town, I wonder why?" or "You go awfully red when I mention that spider guy Jisung."

Jisung knew it was a joke, he fake laughed at them and pushed them aside, changing the subject quickly- but he couldn't quite shake the feeling that Minho knew the truth deep down.

And to make matters worse, Jisung was also an awfully bad liar, making up unbelievable excuses to why he had cuts all over his face, and Minho always pretended to believe it.

And to be completely honest with you? Even I, the writer, have no clue why.

Maybe it was to avoid complications, or maybe it was because he already figured out his side job of saving the citizens of Seoul from supernatural monsters. No clue.

But that doesn't apply for tonight. Because now Han Jisung is crawling up the apartment building's walls, dressed in full Spider Man costume after a long night of crime fighting, carefully sliding open his bedroom window.

It was the middle of the night, no one was out, but yet Jisung couldn't quite shake the feeling that something was different, or maybe that was just his spidey-senses.

He was careful, he always was. Never made a sound in the middle of the night as to not wake up Minho, or the entire building. But he must've done something wrong tonight.

Because as he entered his bedroom, there right in front of him was none other than Minho, looking right at him with eyes wider than a whore's legs.

Jisung froze upon seeing him, his red spider mask was covering his own, matching wide eyes expression. For once he was thankful for the mask, because Minho couldn't see his face right now.

They both just stood there in an awkward silence for a few minutes, or what felt like hours to Jisung, until Minho finally spoke.

"...You're Spider Man." It wasn't a question, more like a silent realisation. Like the thought only just now dawned on him, as if he hadn't been suspicious for months now.

But Minho's voice was low, so quiet you could barley hear it, Jisung didn't know whether to feel worried, concerned, relieved, or all three.

“…Surprise?” Jisung tried to make light of the situation, trying to make this less awkward than it was right now.

Minho didn’t move, until he let out a loud laugh. “I KNEW it! I knew you were Spider man!”

He didn’t know what to say, he just stood there, mouth practically hanging open, he was convinced he could catch flies… I mean he could, he’s literally SPIDER man.

“You…uh…you knew?” He spluttered, that's all he managed to get out.

Minho just slung an arm over his shoulder, like a long lost buddy reuniting with his pal. “You’re really bad at keeping secrets Jisung-ah.”

Jisung was dumbfounded. “You’re serious right now?” He squeaked.

“In all seriousness?” Minho removed his arms from his shoulder, standing unbelievably close to him. “No, I didn’t believe you were Spider man.”

He was about to speak, before pausing, then speaking again. “Okay so, you didn’t think I was Spider man?”

“No, I didn’t.” Minho took a step back, to give him some personal space. “If I’m being honest... I thought you were seeing a guy or something...”

Jisung’s eyes widened even larger, if that was even possible. He hated the fact that Minho would dare to think that.

“Me? Seeing a guy?”

“You say that as if the concept is foreign to you.” Minho commented, a grin slowly appearing on his face.

Jisung scoffed. “Well, yes I know I’m gay! But me seeing a guy? Really?”

“What else was I supposed to think? While you were climbing through your bedroom window at 3am in the night?!” Minho wasn't yelling, but he needed Jisung to see his side of this.

“I don’t know, that I was fighting criminals maybe?”

Silence. A few moments later, Jisung spoke again.

“I’m sorry Minho Hyung, I should’ve told you sooner than this.”

Minho sighed, sitting on the foot of Jisung’s small bed. “It’s alright Jagi, it just would've been cooler if I knew sooner.”

“Cooler?” Jisung raised a brow, not understanding what he meant by that.

“My best friend is Spider man.” He said flatly, “do you know how many times we could’ve gone web slinging by now?!”

“Web slinging?”

“Stop repeating my words!” Minho pointed out. “Don’t act like I haven’t seen those videos of you on the news flying around buildings with those sticky web things.”

Jisung’s cheeks flushed red. “…Don’t call them that.” He managed to say, avoiding the non stopping gaze of Minho.

“What, they’re sticky, and they’re webs. Am I wrong?” He seemed to be enjoying teasing Jisung, he continued. “How does that work anyway? Is there anywhere else you can shoot webs from? Like your as-“

He was cut off by a pillow being lobbed at his face, courtesy of Jisung.

He grumbled, before sighing. “Okay okay, I’ll stop with the teasing.”

“Thank you.” Jisung replied sarcastically.

Yet again, there was silence, but this time it was more comfortable, other than tense and awkward.

"Does anyone else know?" Minho wondered. "Like... before me, I mean."

Jisung knew the answer to that question, something inside of him made him want to bend the truth, but he figured that right now, honesty was the best policy. "...Felix."

Minho looked flabbergasted, like you had just told him that pudding had just been discarded worldwide. "FELIX knows before ME?!" He exclaimed, clearly offended that Felix of all people knew about this secret before him.

"Well yes... He's my best friend?"

"WHAT AM I THEN?!" The look of betrayal on his face was prominent.

Jisung went to reply, but he stopped himself before he dug himself deeper in this hole. Now that he thought about it, why did he tell Felix before he told Minho? Sure, Felix was in fact his best friend, but he knew deep down Minho was so much more than that, as scared as he was to admit that out loud.

Even Han Jisung himself wasn't quite sure what Minho was to him, but if he had to describe it? A slow burn fanfiction with friends to lovers... Yeah, he figured that fit the vibe perfectly.

Minho decided not to press further on the whole 'Felix knowing Jisung's biggest secret ever before him' subject, so he decided to change it. “Sooo…” he began, “Can you do the thing?”

Jisung didn’t even want to ask what he meant by that, but he caved in for Minho’s sake. “What thing?”

“You know…the climbing thing…” he mumbled, voice no higher than a whisper.

“When I stick to walls?” Jisung figured that was it.

“Yeah, that.”

Bingo. Jisung just chuckled, walking over to his bedroom wall and climbing up, now sitting on his ceiling.

Minho watched in awe, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Jisung, his best friend, maybe even more, was now climbing his dorm’s walls like a real spider! His night literally couldn’t get any weirder.

And oh boy he was wrong.

Because Jisung had an idea.

"Do you wanna come web swinging with me?"

Notes:

Been hyperfixating on Spider Man recently, so why not make a Minsung Spider fic?

One thing you should know about me? I'm a HUGEEE Spider Man fan lmao, this was so much fun to write.

This fic will probably be a few chapters exploring their relationship and the adventures of Spider Han and Minho, so expect more to come soon!

I'm trying, exams will not stop my fanfic grind 💕
