Chapter 1: Halloween?

Chapter Text

‘What is Halloween?’ was a question Eri couldn’t stop thinking about. She had heard some other kids at the playground talk about it. Though when she asked, they freaked out and said she was weird. Eri was going to look for her dad, well, Deku. She asked if he was her papa, and Aizawa had said, " If you want him to be, but she could only call him that in private, so people don't get the wrong idea. Eri had found her papa, though he was alone, by the woods, where she and Papa would talk and walk around, “Papa!” Eri had said.

I was lost in my train of thought when I heard a voice from behind me, “Papa!”, and I knew who it was, Eri, a girl I had saved, yet she never had a childhood. Due to that, she needed parents. Mr. Aizawa made a deal, he would be Eri’s guardian until I can adopt her when I am of age to do so and am financially stable. Though that wasn’t going to be too hard because I will have access to all five wills, my grandparents and uncle left me, and my siblings are very wealthy, they said they will help out. “Hello, my little pumpkin!” I had said, while she ran into my arms, I had given her the nickname due to it being fall, and though usually, I call her snowflake. “Papa, I have a question?” she said, “Well, what is it?” “What is Halloween?” That is when it hit me, she doesn’t know any holidays. “Well, Halloween is when you dress up and go to people’s houses, knock on their doors, and get candy.” “Wow!” Eri looked super excited when she heard, “Can I dress up with you?” She asked, “Well, what if all of the class does a group Halloween costume?” I had asked. “Yes!” she had said, with sparkles in her eyes as she jumped off my arms. “Well, I know someone who can help us with costumes,” I had said, while I grabbed her and gave her a piggyback ride back to the dorms.

“Can I have an apple?” I had asked when we went to Papa’s dorms’ kitchen, “Sure, pumpkin,” Papa had said, while he let me down. I quickly ran and grabbed an apple. “I found an apple!” I told Papa, so he can cut it up for me. “Hey, pumpkin, do you want caramel sauce on the side?” Papa had asked, “Yes!” I had said as I jumped up and down with sparkles in my eyes. Papa gave me my apple slices and caramel and allowed me to pick a Halloween movie after I ate.

“Hey, pumpkin, can the class watch with us?” I had asked because I know the class will probably invite themselves to watch, and if so, I don’t want them to know she calls me papa yet. “Sure, papa!” Eri had said while she went through the DVDs. “Hey, how about this one?” I had asked while I held a movie disc in my hand. “It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” I had said while she looked at the movie. “Yes!” she had said. I put the DVD down, while I went to make Halloween snacks for the movie, and texted Sato, who loved making sweets in our class, wanting to help, and he said sure, just give him a list of ingredients to buy. We decided to make caramel apples, black and orange-colored strawberries that looked like ghosts, and black and orange-colored chocolate popcorn. We also decided to make Krispy treats that look like pumpkins, and deviled eggs, and Sato is going to get some strawberries, chocolate, and green tea, pumpkin mooncakes. While we were setting everything up and choosing a few other family-friendly movies, we decided on “Super Buddies”, “The Dog Who Saved Halloween”, and “Spookley the Square Pumpkin”. After we finished that, Sato and I and Sato took turns watching Eri, while the others changed. I then gave Eri a dress that looked like a pumpkin, and she loved it. Sato grabbed some drinks, green tea coffee for me, a pumpkin spice latte for him, and an apple cider for Eri, while I grabbed some blankets and pillows. When we were done, Tokoyami had come back and asked why we were decorating. We had told him we were going to have a movie night with Eri, with Halloween movies, and he had asked if he could make a fort, and we told him to go ahead. Sato and I had no idea how well Tokoyami could make a fort. It was amazing, and it could fit everyone.
