Needyourblood whispers to you: are you mad at us or something?
/msg Needyourblood im not mad i swear_
QSMP>>Your speaking permissions were confiscated by the Federation.
And again, I still couldn't write in the chat, but this time it hurt especially, since Multi probably thinks I'm angry with him, that I hate him or something, but what he doesn't know is that I can't talk because I'm being held captive by the fucking Federation.
I knew the polish was clearly hurt by my absence, but I couldn't do anything to contact him. Cucurucho had taken away almost all of my resources, all but one.
Quackity turned his head and stared at the lava. If he got burned, it would be announced in the chat, and if he went into the lava several times, he'd clearly attract enough attention to worry them, which is exactly what the federation was trying to prevent him to do.
Without a second thought, I jumped into the lava. I had nothing to lose, and my accelerated healing would ensure I didn't suffer too much.
Alerts started flooding the chat, one after another, until the entire chat bar was overflowing with messages. This caught everyone's attention, and more importantly, Multi's attention. As I shakily got to my feet after respawning, I received a message from Multi.
Needyourblood whispers to you: if you cannot respond us kill yourself two times
Needyourblood whispers to you: if you are in a different dimension kill yourself in a different way (NO LAVA)
As soon as I read the first message, I started crawling back to the lava as best I could. I closed my eyes to brace myself for that unbearable pain again, and I jumped in. As soon as I reappeared, I jumped in quickly so the message would be clear.
When I reappeared, I didn't even bother trying to get up. It hurt too much, so much so that tears kept streaming down my face. I couldn't take it anymore; I needed all of this to end.
While I was trying to catch my breath, another message arrived.
Needyourblood whispers to you: we are trying to find you
My eyes began to fill with tears, which inevitably started to roll down my face. The sobs made the burns on my torso hurt even more, as they hadn't had enough time to regenerate, especially after this exertion.
Suddenly it began to rain, for the first time since they crashed on the island. The raindrops fell on him as he had nowhere to take cover, and the tears mingled with the raindrops, causing his wounds to sting every time a drop came into contact with his badly injured skin.
Needyourblood whispers to you: i don’t know if its related to you but it started to rain first time ever
Needyourblood whispers to you: and it stopped
“He…, he really cares about me” I murmured as the tears stopped falling from my eyes and I curled up in a ball on the floor.
A few minutes after reading that message, I fainted. I was relieved, because I knew that at least Multi knew something had happened to me and that I wasn't ignoring him, or anyone else. I would never do that to him.
…
Days passed, and I finally managed to escape that island. After a very long walk, I reached the northern mansion. I searched the entire house, but no one was there. It was empty, much to everyone's surprise, since there were always at least two people in the house.
I went up to my room and threw myself onto the bed. I didn't bother changing my clothes or untying my wings, which had been tied up for longer than they should have been. I was too tired, and my head was pounding. I just wanted to sleep and for everything to be alright.
A few hours later, I woke up, drenched in sweat and dizzy. With some effort, I managed to open the chat to see if I could type, which surprisingly I could, so I messaged Multi privately.
You whisper to Needyourblood: I'm back
You whisper to Needyourblood: Come to my room in the North
You whisper to Needyourblood: please
Needyourblood whispers to you: two minutes
I was too tired to walk to the Polish cave to see if Multi was there, and since there was no one in the northern house right now, the scientist wouldn't have any trouble getting in. I sat down on the bed and tidied my hair a bit while I waited for Multi, who didn't take too long to appear.
"Quackity?" the Polish man called, entering the room.
As soon as he saw me on the bed, his expression changed to one of concern.
Dark, thick circles had formed under my eyes, and I also had new scars on one side of my face, not to mention all the ones that must have been scattered across my body from all the times I'd been burned in the lava.
The one with dreadlocks sat gently on my bed and slowly approached me.
"What did they do to you?" he asked softly as he reached for my hand, took it, and gently stroked it.
“When I was away… I can’t say exactly what happened to me because I would put people’s lives in danger, but I appreciate you checking on me” I said, lowering my face so he couldn’t see the tears welling up in my eyes.
“Of course I don’t leave my friends, but I know they hurt you. I saw all the alerts from the times you were burned in the lava” he said, taking his hand from mine and gently placing it on my face so I would look him in the eyes. “And I also see that your body wasn’t able to fully regenerate” he added, gently stroking the scar on my jaw with his thumb.
“No one hurt me, I jumped in on purpose” I said with my voice trembling as I looked down.
“But why would you do that?” he asked, closing the distance between us even more.
“I wanted to die. I was trapped on an island in the sky, with no way to escape, and then there was he… he would appear from time to time and then and…” I managed to say between sobs as tears streamed down my face. “I wanted it all to end” I finished, bursting into tears.
The scientist gently hugged me, pulling me against his body. The hand that had been caressing my cheek now stroked my hair, burying my face into his neck, while his other hand rested on my waist, slowly caressing it.
“You’re not going back to that place, and I’m not going anywhere, Kaczuszko” he said, wrapping his arms around me in a tight hug.
Multi had never hugged me, or anyone else for that matter. I was surprised and quite shaken by the Polish man’s action. I knew he hated giving hugs or showing affection in general.
“Is this because I almost died?” I asked softly to the boy.
“No” He answered me, then stepped back a little to look me in the eyes. “ It’s because I… I almost died” the boy finished speaking and then he hugged me back tighter.
After a few seconds of the hug, I let out a yelp of pain that made the boy quickly pull away.
"Are you hurt?" the dreadlocked boy asked, concerned.
"All my wounds should have healed by now, I don't understand why my back hurts that much" I said, wincing.
"How long have you had your wings tied?" the boy asked, gently turning me so my back was facing him.
"I haven't untied them in a while" I confessed, embarrassed.
"Let me see, take off your jacket" the Polish boy ordered.
I then unbuttoned my jacket and carefully removed it, making sure not to move my back too much to avoid further injury. I was left in my black tank top and the harness to which my wings were attached, exposed. The scientist remained silent for a moment, staring intently at my wings.
"Your wings didn't heal after the burns, and they don't look good" he began, turning to meet my gaze. "We need to go to my lab, I can't do anything to help you here" he finished, grabbing my jacket and draping it over my shoulders.
When I got out of bed, I stumbled a little, still feeling dizzy from the night before, probably due to the wounds on my wings. Seeing that I might fall, Multi grabbed me by the waist to avoid touching my wings as much as possible and teleported us to the Polish cave.
Upon arriving, we went directly to the decontamination chamber to go to one of the rooms in his office area with medical equipment; its usual function is to perform autopsies on biological experiments, among other things.
He helped me sit on the examination table, and while he went to get his gloves and gown, I took my jacket off my shoulders and set it aside. With trembling hands, I began to unfasten the buckles of the harness that secured my wings until the Polish man stopped me.
“Let me do it. The straps are embedded in the wounds on your wings, and I don’t want you to risk them opening and bleeding or accidentally tearing off skin” he said as he leaned toward me and carefully began to unfasten the buckles.
Being so close, I could smell his cologne mixed with the scent of various chemicals and disinfectant. The smell I had longed for when I was kidnapped on that island. I had missed Multi so much that having him there now felt like a dream.
When the scientist finished untying the straps, he walked around the table to stand behind me and began carefully removing them from my wings, causing me to let out occasional whimpers of pain.
The sound of the harness hitting the floor made me realize he had finally taken it off, since for the past few minutes my hands had been gripping my pants tightly and my jaw clenched to bear the pain, and that was all I could focus on.
I began to slowly spread my wings, and it didn't take long for me to realize that half of them were missing. Naturally, they usually brushed the ground, they were so large, but now they barely reached my hips; all my primary and secondary feathers were already gone.
"Multi, what's wrong with me? Why...why are they like this?" I asked, my voice trembling, fighting back tears.
The Polish man didn't answer, and just stared at the wounds, occasionally leaning closer for a closer look.
"Don't worry" the dreadlocked man said as he walked around the stretcher to stand in front of me. "I'm going to heal you, and you'll be okay, alright?" He whispered, then placed his hand on the back of my neck, pulled my head close to his, and kissed my head.
“We’re going to get through this, okay?” he said, pulling his face away from mine and gently stroking my hair.
I nodded slightly in response as a tear rolled down my cheek.
“I’m going to need you to take anesthesia. You won’t be able to handle the pain, and I don’t want you to suffer anymore,” he said slowly.
“I can handle it” I said confidently.
“No, you won’t be able to, and I won’t allow it” he said sternly, moving closer to me again. “Quackity, I have to amputate your wings” the boy blurted out.
“NO! NO! YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT!” I yelled at the Polish man, jumping up from the examination table.
“If I don’t do it, they won’t regenerate properly, and you’ll never be able to fly again. It would probably leave you with lasting effects, loss of balance, chronic pain, etc..” he replied calmly.
“I DON’T CARE! NO ONE IS GOING TO TAKE OFF MY WINGS!” I yelled, backing away. “BESIDES, WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT WINGS IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY?”
“You’re wrong about that. I do have them. That’s precisely why I’m telling you I have to amputate yours, so the same thing doesn’t happen to you as happened to me” the scientist replied with a melancholic voice.
That information hit me like a ton of bricks. I started to feel sick.
“I… I didn’t know” I began, pausing briefly. “I swear, if I had known, I wouldn’t have said that. I feel awful, really, I’m sorr…” I was saying when the Polish man interrupted me, placing his hand on my cheek.
“You don’t have to apologize, how would you know I had wings if I never take them out?” he began to explain calmly. “The only ones who know of their existence are the Poles, but they haven’t seen them for years either, and after the accident they most likely think I don’t have them anymore”
“But what happened to you?” I asked, worried.
“It was a really bad fight, my mental health wasn’t doing really great, and I let myself be carried away by the voices in my head… I… I don’t want to talk about it” he replied, looking down.
“Would you let me see them? Well, if you trust me enough to do that, of course” I asked the dreadlocked guy.
“I don’t trust anyone, but I trust you. I hope you understand that better now” he replied as he began to take off his lab coat, which was stained with chemicals.
Then he started unbuttoning his black shirt. As he unbuttoned it, I began to see almost translucent black skin covering his torso. When he took off his shirt, I saw two patagium wings detach from his torso and stretch out to the sides. That’s where I saw what Multi was referring to. They’re in worse shape than mine are now.
He was missing more than half of the membrane between the bones of his wings. All the bones were irregularly sized, not at all what they should be, and the remaining membrane was thinner than it should be and riddled with holes in places.
"The membrane became so thin that if I wrap my wings against my torso you can't even tell I have them. I don't need to tie them anymore, especially since I always wear my lab coat; it hides them very well" the Polish man explained. "That's why I never let anyone hug me, they'd know" he admitted sadly.
I got up from the examination table to go and hug him, burying my face in his neck.
"I'm so sorry, really" I said as the scientist hugged me back around the waist, gently enveloping me with his wings.
“That’s why I have to operate on you. You can’t end up like I did for being so stubborn” he said, pulling away from our hug. “I love you too much, and I don’t want you to suffer like I did. I could never forgive myself” he confessed as a tear rolled down his cheek.
I decided to close the distance between us with a kiss on his lips. He held me firmly by the waist and returned the kiss, slow and sweet.
When we separated, we stared at each other for a while until I decided to speak.
“Do it. Give me the anesthesia,” I told the polish.
“Are you sure you’re okay with that? I don’t want to force you to do anything” the scientist asked.
“Yes, do it,” I said as I lay down on the operating table, face down.
“The recovery will be difficult, but your wings will grow back normally, and don’t worry, I’ll be here for you if you need anything” he replied gently, then kissed my head.
“I trust you” I answered as I felt him inject the anesthetic into my arm.
“I love you, Kaczuszko” I heard from afar as I drifted off to sleep.
