Chapter Text
Author’s Note
Hi everyone! I’m back!
Summer is here, which means freedom, sunlight, and the illusion of incredible productivity. I did say I’d be uploading more during this break, and I do intend to stick to that.
While digging through my old files, I found a crossover idea I wrote a while ago. I reread it, expecting it to be mid, and instead went “wait… this is actually kind of good?” So naturally, I decided to post it instead of letting it continue its life as a forgotten document.
Thus this Star Wars x Naruto crossover was uncovered.
I’m not fully sure yet if this will turn into a long-running story or stay shorter and contained. That’ll depend on motivation, chaos levels, and whether I accidentally get too invested (likely). Either way, I hope you enjoy it.
I’m still without a beta reader at the moment, so if anyone is interested in helping out, please feel free to reach out via AO3 or Discord. I promise I only slightly overwhelm my readers with ideas.
My other stories are still ongoing and nothing has been abandoned. Updates will continue as usual.
Anyways, that’s enough from me.

The World Between Worlds
The battered landscape of the Valley of the End was silent. Naruto raised his trembling, bloodied hands, struggling to bring his fingers together with Sasuke.
Deep within his mindscape, a massive shadow thrashed against the fading light.
"Stop, you fucking idiot!" Kurama’s voice was a deafening roar that shook Naruto to his core. "Your coils are completely tapped! If you channel the amount of energy required to break a planetary jutsu right now, your life force will compensate for the lack of chakra. It will kill you!"
Naruto’s eyes softened, a bittersweet smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
“I know,” he answered silently. “It’s okay, Kurama.”
"It is not okay!"
"You need to leave my body," Naruto insisted, his internal voice steady despite the physical agony tearing through his nerves. "Break the seal from your end. If you stay in here when I go, you’ll die with me."
He took a shaky breath, his expression softening as he looked toward the great fox. "Thank you, Kurama. You have been with me since the day I was born. You have suffered so much because of me, but you also taught me so much. You became my friend, my partner, my family. I'm sorry I can't keep you with me any longer. Please, go and join your other half. Be free, be happy. Goodbye, my lifelong companion."
The great fox froze, his massive crimson eyes narrowing. The anger in his gaze gave way to a stubborn, defiant pride. "Don't tell me what to do, brat. I've watched over you this long. I'm not going anywhere."
Naruto’s smile widened just a fraction.
In the real world, Naruto and Sasuke formed the rat seal together.
Naruto funneled every last drop of his existence into the seal. “Kai!”
A pulse of chakra erupted from them, sweeping across the sky and tearing the roots of the God Tree apart. The planetary genjutsu shattered. But the moment the light faded, the golden aura of the Sage's chakra clinging to Naruto destabilized. It flickered wildly, turning jagged before winking out entirely.
Naruto stumbled, his boots dragging in the dirt.
A few feet away, Sasuke stood, bringing his arm down after forming the seal with Naruto. He scoffed, his Rinnegan spinning as he watched his rival sway. "Quit acting dramatic, dobe. It's over."
Naruto didn't answer. His knees buckled, and he collapsed forward, hitting the rocky ground with a heavy thud.
Silence descended on the battlefield. The wind howled through the cracked stone. Sasuke stood waiting, his eyes narrowed, fully expecting the blonde to groan, push himself up, and loudly complain about how much everything hurt.
One second passed. Then two.
Naruto didn’t move.
Sasuke exhaled a sharp breath of annoyance and walked over, his boots crunching on the rubble. He dropped to one knee beside the unmoving shinobi, his irritation bleeding through.
"Oi," Sasuke said, his voice cold. "Enough."
He reached out and roughly grabbed Naruto by the collar of his torn jacket, rolling him onto his back. Sasuke’s irritation vanished.
Naruto’s head rolled limply to the side. His breathing was uneven, and a terrifying conclusion started to form. Sasuke’s hand instinctively pressed against Naruto's neck. The pulse was so weak it was barely a flutter beneath his fingertips.
Worse, Sasuke’s visual prowess revealed the horrifying truth. Naruto's chakra pathway system, usually a blinding mass of energy, was fracturing. The pathways were collapsing faster than Naruto’s body could regenerate them.
"Naruto?" Sasuke’s voice cracked. His eyes widened, the Sharingan spinning frantically as if it could somehow analyze a way to fight this. But he couldn't. This wasn't an enemy he could cut down or burn away. It was entirely outside of his control, and the realization hit him with a wave of panic. "Hey, stay awake! Don't you dare close your eyes!"
"Naruto!"
Footsteps pounded against the earth. Sakura and Kakashi sprinted over the crest of the crater, their faces pale with exhaustion and terror.
"Sakura!" Sasuke roared, the desperation in his voice making Kakashi freeze. "Heal him! Now!"
Sakura didn't hesitate. She threw herself into the dirt, sliding to a halt beside Naruto. Her hands instantly flared with the bright, concentrated green glow of medical ninjutsu. She slammed them against Naruto’s chest, pouring her own frantic energy into his failing heart.
"I've got you, Naruto, I've got you," she babbled, tears already spilling over her eyelashes.
But the green chakra didn't sink in. It swirled uselessly over his skin, unable to anchor to coils that no longer existed. There was nothing left inside Naruto to sustain the healing.
"Why isn't it working?" Sasuke demanded, his lone hand shaking as he gripped Naruto's shoulder. "Try harder!"
"I'm trying!" Sakura sobbed. She pushed more chakra, draining her own reserves, her hands trembling violently. "Come on! Breathe, you idiot! You're not allowed to die!"
Naruto's chest hitched once. A slow, quiet breath left his lips, carrying the last remnant of his warmth into the cold morning air. His chest settled, and he lay completely still.
"No, no, no," Sakura chanted, pressing her glowing hands harder against him. “You said you were gonna become Hokage!"
A shadow fell over them. Kakashi knelt down slowly, his visible eye clouded with a grief too deep for words. He looked at the peaceful, motionless face of his student. He reached out, his scarred, gloved hand gently wrapping around Sakura’s trembling shoulders.
"Sakura," Kakashi said, his voice breaking into a hollow whisper.
"Don't stop me, Sensei! I can fix him!" she screamed, trying to wrench her hands free to keep pushing chakra into a void.
Kakashi tightened his grip, pulling her away from Naruto. He pulled her against him, letting her collapse into his flak jacket.
"Sakura... stop," Kakashi whispered, closing his eyes as a single tear escaped. "We're too late."
Sasuke didn't move. He remained on his knees, his fingers twitching as if he were waiting for a heart rhythm that would never return. The Rinnegan in his eye pulsed—a frantic, desperate cycle of focus, trying to find a single spark of life—but there was nothing left to see. The boy who had been a burning sun, the boy who had dragged him back from his darkness, was simply… gone.
"He's not—" Sasuke’s voice was barely a whisper. He looked up at Kakashi, his usually composed face cracked with grief. "He was just here. He was just talking."
Kakashi didn't answer. He couldn't. He kept his grip firm on a sobbing, hysterical Sakura, shielding her from the sight of Naruto’s cooling skin, though he himself could not look away. He stared at the face of the student he had failed to keep alive, the boy who had carried the weight of the world until there was simply nothing left to give.
The realization began to ripple outward.
Across the landscape, as the white light of the Infinite Tsukuyomi faded, the tens of thousands of shinobi who had been trapped in their dreams began to stir. They woke to a world that was inexplicably still.
The agonizing pain of his body failing vanished.
Naruto blinked. The smell of copper, ozone, and wet dirt was gone. The desperate voice of Sasuke faded into silence. Instead, he could hear faint whispers drifting through the void, thousands of distant voices speaking in languages he did not understand.
He wasn't floating anymore. Beneath his feet stretched a narrow pathway of black glass threaded with glowing white light, suspended within an endless cosmic void. Above and below him, countless similar paths wove through drifting stars like an infinite web connecting distant worlds. High overhead, pale lines burned across the darkness, forming the ancient outline of a great running beast.
"So, you really did it, you stubborn brat."
Naruto turned around, his movements weightless. Crouched on the glowing pathway right in front of him, looking massive against the narrow walkway, was Kurama. The Great Nine-Tails didn't look angry anymore; his massive head was resting on his paws, his crimson eyes fixed on Naruto with a mixture of exasperation and deep, begrudging respect.
"Kurama!" Naruto gasped, looking down at his hands. They were whole, free of blood and burns. "You... you're here. I told you to break the seal! Why didn't you leave?"
"And go where?" Kurama snorted, a plume of hot air ruffling Naruto's hair. "Back into the wild? To be hunted by the next power-hungry Uchiha with a grudge? No thanks. Besides... I told you. I wasn't going anywhere. We're partners, remember? Even if it means walking into the afterlife."
Naruto felt a lump form in his throat. He grinned, a familiar, bright expression, and walked over to rest his hand against the fox's massive snout. "Yeah. Partners."
"A beautiful sentiment," a deep, echoing voice resonated through the starry void. "Though I am afraid your journey does not end yet, young Naruto."
From the darkness, floating slightly above the walkway, stepped Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki. The Sage of Six Paths held his staff, his purple Rinnegan glowing. His face carried a heavy sorrow, and… anticipation?
"Old man Six Paths?" Naruto blinked, dropping his hand from Kurama. "What do you mean? We stopped the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Sasuke and I... we broke it. The world is safe."
"You did," Hagoromo agreed, bowing his head in respect. "You gave your very life force to undo the curse of my mother. You saved your world, Naruto Uzumaki. But this is not like our last meeting. When we spoke before, your physical vessel still clung to the mortal coil, and I merely granted you a spark of my power to ignite what was already there."
The Sage raised his hand, gesturing to the infinite darkness stretching out beyond the stars.
"Now, your physical body is gone. Because you funneled your very existence into shattering the planetary jutsu, your chakra pathways collapsed entirely. Your soul has completely transcended the boundaries of the Elemental Nations. The laws of the physical world no longer hold you.”
Hagoromo turned his staff to the left. A soft, warm, golden mist began to roll across the void.
"If you step into the light to your left," Hagoromo explained, "you will enter the Pure Land. You will be reunited with your parents, your master, and the comrades who fell before you. Your battles will be finished. Your burden will be lifted. You have earned an eternity of rest, my successor."
Naruto stared at the golden mist. His chest tightened, a deep, aching longing pulling at his spirit. “Mom... Dad... Pervy Sage…” He had spent his entire life wanting to be with them, wanting to tell them everything he had accomplished, wanting to just sit down and be a son, a student, a friend.
Then Hagoromo pointed his staff to the right, toward a swirling, unfamiliar galaxy that hummed with a boundless and chaotic energy he had never felt before.
"However, because your soul has transcended, you have been granted another chance—but it cannot be in the world you left behind," the Sage continued solemnly. "If you step to your right, you choose rebirth in a universe entirely foreign to your own. A galaxy where the concept of shinobi does not exist, but where a pervasive, ancient energy is crying out for balance. You will start entirely anew, leaving your home behind forever. But your presence may save the lives of billions of sentient beings."
Naruto stood frozen between the two paths. The silence of the void stretched on.
Kurama, who had been watching silently, shifted his massive weight on the narrow pathway. He didn't look at the paths; he kept his eyes solely on Naruto.
"Well, brat?" Kurama’s voice was uncharacteristically quiet, free of its usual harshness. "The choice is yours. I'm hitched to your soul, so I go where you go. But you... you've been running, fighting, and training for your whole life. Nobody would blame you if you walked left. You did more than anyone could have asked from you.”
Naruto closed his eyes. He thought of Sasuke’s hollow face as he collapsed. He thought of Sakura’s desperate, tear-stained face. They were safe now. The world would rebuild. Kakashi, Gaara, Bee, Konohamaru, and the others would guide it into the future.
He looked back to the left. He realized he wanted to go left and started to go that way before he stopped.
"If I go to the Pure Land..." Naruto started softly, his voice echoing in the vastness. "I'll get to see everyone. I'll get to rest. And man, Pervy Sage would probably write a whole book about everything I did."
He turned his body completely away from the golden mist, facing the swirling, unknown galaxy.
"But that's not who I am," Naruto said, his voice growing stronger, firmer, infused with that legendary, unbreakable will. "If there's a universe out there where people are crying out for help... where people are trapped in darkness and don't have anyone to stand up for them... I can't just turn my back and go to sleep. A real Hokage protects people, no matter where they are."
He looked up at the Sage of Six Paths, his blue eyes shining with a fierce, unmistakable spark.
Hagoromo’s face softened into a look of profound reverence. He closed his eyes and bowed deeply to the young shinobi. "I expected nothing less from you. You have truly surpassed us all, Naruto Uzumaki."
Kurama let out a massive, rumbling laugh that shook the starry void, his nine tails thrashing the air with newfound excitement. "Hah! I knew it. You really are a hopeless, hardheaded idiot, Naruto! Fine then! Let's go see what this new world is all about!"
With a final nod from the Sage, the golden mist of the Pure Land faded away. The glass path beneath Naruto’s feet suddenly shattered, and gravity pulled him downward.
