Happy "Birthday" Fred Porlock

Work Text:

Fred watched from the corner as Moran snuck up on the bed.

He snuck up behind him just as he was about to lift the covers, "What are you doing?"

Moran jumped at least a foot in the air and turned around, "Fred, what the hell!"

"What are you doing?" Fred asked again.

"Well, I was going to wish you happy birthday!"

"Oh."

"Whatever, happy birthday. Louis is going to plan the party, go hang out with your cats or whatever it is you do."

* * *

"Good morning Sherly," William said, "By any chance do you know what day is today?"

Sherlock, who was currently struggling with his bow tie, froze, "...Happy late fake birthday?"

"It's Fred's fake birthday, you moron."

Sherlock frowned, "Why does he celebrate a fake birthday?"

"Shut up and get dressed."

* * *

"Are we inviting Patterson?" Enola asked, "Louis are you still ignoring me?"

"You weren't here yesterday."

"I was working on a case, and I sent your brother a very nice fruit basket. Do I have to make you one too?"

"You already gave me one for my birthday."

"Yes, but that was a month ago."

Louis turned back to his notes, "Fred is uncomfortable around Patterson because of how close he is with Scotland Yard. You're forgiven. Do not get me another fruit basket."

* * *

"I know your real birthday," Sherlock said, "Wait, come back; I'm sorry!"

"Sherly, what did I tell you!"

* * *

"Enola, Director Holmes is drunk again," Billy said.

"That's brother dear's problem, not mine."

* * *

"Happy birthday Fred," Mycroft Holmes smiled.

Fred, who had never seen Mycroft Holmes ever smile that much, was duly terrified, "Thank you?"

"How old are you now, 10?"

He looked to Albert for help.

Albert, being a bastard, said, "Well, you don't look legal age."

* * *

Sherlock turned his head towards William, "Liam? Why are you leaving so early?"

"Because I am five seconds away from throwing either me or your brother out of a window, and I'm leaning towards your brother."

"I suppose he's my problem then."

"Can't Enola help you?"

"You should be lucky you have a younger brother and not a younger sister."

***

"Surprise!" Bonde handed Fred a bunch of wigs, "You better like them because wigs are expensive, and there's only so much money I can convince Director Holmes that is necessary for Mi6.

Fred nodded very seriously: "This is my favorite."

** *

"You have such great disguises, Freddy!" Herder grinned.

"...Please take that off."

"Catch me first!"

Mycroft glared at the offered glass of water, "This was terrible."

"I thought it was fun!" Enola chimed in from across the room.

Sherly sighed, "Of course you woul- Mycroft the glass doesn't bite! Unfortunately, the same can't be said for you after...four drinks?"

"It was five."

"Right my mistake."

"...How many apologizes do I have to make?"

"Just Liam and Porlock."

"I have a vague recollection of Porlock, but what did I do to William?"

"Not my problem."

"I wasn't asking you, sister mine."

"Even more unfortunately for you, brother mine, I have no clue. You're smart, you can work it out."

"...Do you think William would appreciate a fruit basket?"
