Drunken Confessions

Summary:

Endo and Sakura broke up almost two years ago, so why the hell was Sakura calling his phone? And how the hell did he end uo back in Endo’s bed?

Notes:

This is my longest fic so far I hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

Endo groaned loudly as his alarm blared off. It felt as if he’d just went to sleep not too long ago, maybe it’s because he did. Why was it going off now? Did he have something important to do during this time?

He sighed, letting his head fall back on his pillow when the buzzing stopped. It couldn’t have been more than five minutes before it started again.

Endo groaned, glaring at the device turned on its back. Couldn’t they stop and get the hint? Begrudgingly, Endo grabbed his phone, flipping it over to see-

Wait. What?

Why was Sakura calling him?

Endo ran a hand through his hair, staring at his phone in disbelief.

Sakura had broken off their arrangement months ago. What Endo thought was a blossoming relationship was actually a multitude of simmering problems he’d rather not think too hard about.

After Sakura had left Furin, they kept in contact quite frequently and meeting up even more. Endo had plans to give Sakura a key to his and Takiishi’s house as a proposal to be his boyfriend.

Too bad he never got the chance.

When Sakura broke it off, he seemed furious, annoyed. As if Endo could’ve read his mind? He was selfish, sure. Possessive, alright. Jealous, god forbid. But what really got to him was that he didn’t care for him enough. Like hell Endo didn’t care for Sakura. That twat had at least half his attention.

Saying he didn’t care enough had Endo itching to show him how wrong he was.

Endo didn’t think Sakura’d meant it. I mean, it’s not like this hasn’t happened before. Someone breaks up with him and then a week later they’re begging for him back.

So Endo would wait. And wait. And wait. And what the hell was he doing waiting? Endo was certain Sakura wanted him back, who wouldn’t? Maybe he’s just waiting for Endo to text first.

So he, against everything he stood for, did.

A whole year of begging. Daily texts, pictures, even trying to call him. Sure Sakura would text back sometimes. To threaten police or tell Endo he was much too close to Furin territory.

Not like Endo cared about that.

He’d only given up a few months ago, and that was because of Takiishi. After Endo went on another one of his drunken rants, Takiishi had told him to stop talking. Endo, not getting the memo apparently, started getting louder.

Takiishi did not appreciate that. He didn’t appreciate that so much he slapped Endo sober. That’s when he decided to leave Sakura alone.

But now Sakura was calling him? After almost two years? Endo couldn’t tell if this was a blessing or a curse. He probably had atleast three missed calls from him thinking about it.

Endo shook his head, a smile rising to his face. Maybe this is proof Sakura still wants him? Endo picked up the call, putting the phone on speaker and laying back onto his elbows.

“Couldn’t stay away could you Sakura?” He spoke smoothly into the mic, tilting his head to the side as if Sakura could see from the other side of the call.

“Hello?” The voice on the other end came out slightly muffled. There was horribly loud music in the background and awful singing mixed with offset cheers.

All of the noise was second to the voice Endo heard through the speaker. If he knew anything, he knew that sure as hell wasn’t Sakura. Who the hell was on his phone acting like they and Endo were friends?

“Who the hell are you?” Endo sounded thoroughly annoyed by the foreign voice. He’d gotten his hopes up for nothing. Maybe Sakura switched numbers after Endo bothered him for so long? That’d be more than cruel to cut off contact that far.

“Is this Endo?” The voice spoke just as annoyed through the phone. Was this a client? A client calling him at one in the morning? Really? It must be urgent for them to sound like that.

“Yeah.” Endo spoke sharply, trying to keep this conversation short. These clients were getting real bold calling him so late, and with his ex’s number at that.

“As much as I don’t wanna do this, I need you to pick Sakura up. He’s drunk as hell and isn’t letting anyone try and take him home.“

“Where.” Endo practically jumped out of his bed at that. Sakura drinking wasn’t bad. He was an adult and that’s what most adults do. But him drunk? That was an entirely different medium.

Endo had only been around a drunk Sakura a handful of times. Though the memories were blurry, Endo had been drunk as well. What he did remember though, was a lot of yelling and confessions. Something about Endo never listening to him and acting like an asshole.

“I just sent you the location. Come soon. Please.” The voice was followed by silence and his phone turning off. What idiots decided a drunk Sakura would be the best decision for them? Surely they’d know what he’s like.

Endo threw on some dark grey sweatpants and an off white hoodie with a flashy pattern on the back. His pants covered the back of his shoes, still in pristine condition.

Endo snuck out his room quietly, making sure not to wake Takiishi. He wasn’t technically a light sleeper but too much noise would wake him quickly. Endo remembers when he accidentally woke him up trying to start breakfast early and had to take a hospital visit after.

Once he reached the front door, Endo wrote a quick note to Takiishi in case he woke up to no one else in the house. He grabbed his keys and quietly left.

Endo was star struck as he approached the building. It was all flashy lights and drunkards if he was really being honest. What the hell was Sakura doing in a place like this?

Any time Endo took Sakura out, he’d yell at him about how flashy the place was. Although he was blushing from embarrassment everytime and always apologized and thanked Endo for taking him out, getting yelled at for it sure as hell got old slowly.

Maybe Sakura’s tastes had changed? But the guy had been the same ever since High School, no way he’d change so suddenly.

Endo rubbed at his temples, the blaring music getting to him after his nap. He glared at the building as if it’d wronged him and shoved his hands in his pocket, pulling at the inner lining.

Endo shoved the door opened, being met with raging lights and booming bass. He walked through the strobe lights towards the stairs and up to the private room number he was sent.

God, who was able to drag Sakura out to a place like this with no complaint? And get him drunk of all states he could be in?

He knocked on the door, hearing the lock click and watching the knob turn. The lights were steady in the room and he could clearly see everyone in there. All Furin nuisances who’d graduated with Sakura.

Some were doing karaoke drunk out of their minds, laughing at nothing in particular. Others were catering their drinks wisely, only looking just a little tipsy. And in the corner of the room, shouting at nothing and everything, was Sakura.

His face was flushed a bright pink and he was still shakily holding a drink. It was something he would never drink. Atleast not infront of Endo.

The voice from the phone cut through his thoughts, shouting his name and trying to get Sakura steady on his feet.

“Sakura! C’mon, get up. Endo’s here just like you asked.” The voice, belonging to a nervous looking kid with short blond hair, tried to coax Sakura out of his corner.

Sakura had asked for Endo? After all this time apart? Endo crossed his legs, leaning on the door as he watched the scene. Sure he could’ve helped, but this was much more entertaining.

Sakura threw a weak punch to the kids arm and downed the drink he was nursing. Endo could slightly hear and make out some of the slurred, thrown together words Sakura was spouting. Something about ‘not asking for that bastard’.

Endo would believe the stranger over Sakura for once. There’s no way his prissy friends would call Endo if Sakura didn’t say anything.

Endo stalked over towards the scene, grabbing Sakura by the arm and hauling him up. The blond kid gave him a look of disapproval before begrudgingly joining his crowd of friends.

“The hell are you doing drinking?” Endo practically yelled at him, earning a few wary glances from the people who weren’t shit faced yet.

Sakura tried to pull his arm away, keeping himself firm in the booth. Can’t this stubborn little shit just come with him?

“No! I didn’t call for you, you creep.” Sakura’s words slurred together in an odd sound that was more blabbled than spoken.

“You obviously did if I’m right here in your goddamn face.” Endo snapped with a scowl, yanking Sakura up harshly. He’d already gotten 30 minutes of sleep before having to get out of bed. The least Sakura could do was comply.

Sakura stumbled upright, looking baffled at Endo’s harsh action. Endo sighed, shaking his head.

He hated he still found Sakura cute after all this time. It’s not like Endo ever stopped liking him but it seemed Sakura got bored with Endo quicker than imagined.

Sakura was still as interesting as he was as a scrawny, clueless 15 year old. He didn’t blush as much or get embarrassed at the compliments given to him. He stopped getting so defensive at insults, but he was still interesting. Even in this little domesticated shell Furin gave him.

Endo rolls his eyes as he’s broken out of his thoughts by Sakura yelling at some black haired kid who tried to take his drink away.

Idiot, it was empty anyways. What the hell were you even trying to get?

Endo pulled Sakura harshly, effectively shutting him up. Hopefully Sakura still lived at the same place. It’d be a pain if he didn’t.

Or atleast a pain for Endo. A small thought had lingered in his mind on their 5th month if seperation. He’d wondered if Sakura moved out of his shabby apartment. Maybe he got a better place where he didn’t have to live with the fear of someone breaking in every night. Maybe he’d be able to sleep peacefully.

But right now? Endo sure as hell hoped he hadn’t moved. There’s no way he’d get his address from him in this state.

“I’m not going home yet!” Sakura yelled at Endo, trying to haphazardly remove his hand from his wrist. Endo simply turned around and began pulling Sakura out the door.

“Be careful with him!” One of Sakura’s friends yelled to Endo, making him scowl. Why wouldn’t he be careful? Who did they think he was?

Endo slammed the door close, hearing the lock click automatically. He slightly wished he was back in that room, the strobe lights in the club giving him an instant headache.

Sakura was talking behind him, but Endo couldn’t hear him nor did he care to try to. This situation would be amusing if it happened a year ago. Or even if it wasn’t one in the morning. Endo would’ve even found this quite funny if Sakura wasn’t with his uptight friends.

Endo pulled Sakura down the short flight of stairs, through the mix of people dancing, and out the front door. The cold wind hit Endo harsher than he thought it would, causing a violent shiver through his body.

God, why’d he park so far away? He should’ve just risked being towed, it was better than walking through the cold. Endo could feel the wind rushing in through the gaps of his hoodie, making his body frantic to keep him warm. The streets were slowly filling with people going out to drink and others on date nights.

Endo would rather not wander through a crowd of people to get Sakura home, much less to get to his car. It didn’t help with Sakura’s continuous blabbering and steps that could never seem to fall in line with Endo’s.

Endo almost breathed a sigh of relief when they reached his car, fumbling his key out of hid pocket and unlocking it. He pushed Sakura ahead of him, opening the door(because he was still a gentleman).

“After you.” It was intended to come out sweet, maybe teasing, but Endo was too tired and it came out blunter than he wanted.

Sakura frowned and stood in place, slightly swaying as he looked between the car and Endo.

Endo quirked a brow, confused. He wasn’t getting in or running away, so what the hell is he doing? It was cold and Endo just wanted to get back in bed.

“Get in the car Sakura.” He said a little firmer, trying to get the point across to him. Sakura looked around, as if surveying his area.

“What…?” He finally said, slightly dazed. He looked directly at Endo. He looked drunker than he should’ve been, processing Endo’s words slower.

Endo moved away from the door, pulling Sakura by his arm and throwing him into the car. Sakura blinked a few times before looking up at Endo.

God, Endo would’ve begged for him back right now if he wasn’t intoxicated beyond belief. That look made him weak. That wide eyed, deer in headlights look he liked to sport when he was confused. It’s cute he even did it when drunk.

Endo leaned on the top of the car, stuffing his right hand inside his pocket. He reached over and buckled Sakura up, moving his arms over the seatbelt.

“You’re a real nuisance you know that? Calling me out here in the middle of the night. I have shit to do Sakura. I can’t take care of you at every inconvenience.” Endo scolded.

Sakura blinked a few times from confusion. Endo then realized he really was spouting bullshit. Maybe he was saying what he wanted. Him and Sakura hadn’t had any contact for almost two years, what inconveniences was he talking about?

Endo sighed, closing the door and coming around to the drivers seat. He got in and started the car, looking over at a now docile Sakura. Maybe getting yelled at was triggering his quietness. If so, Endo would gladly continue yelling at him for the rest of the night.

He clipped his phone to the dashboard on his car and turned to Sakura.

“Oi, is your address the same?”

“Why?” Sakura slowly questioned, gaze turned to Endo.

“To take you home.”

“Why?” Sakura questioned once again. Endo could feel a headache forming. If he said why one more time, Endo might just tape his mouth shut.

“Because you’re drunk as shit and need to rest before you throw up all over the place.” Endo grumbled out. He started the car before Sakura could answer.

The blasting heat and roar of the car shut Sakura up for a moment, before he slowly started his speech again.

Sakura was quite the unreliable narrator. Not only did he go to sleep five minutes after Endo started the car, he’d given him wrong directions. Maybe it’s because Endo had to scream at him to get any directions at all. Or maybe he still knew how to fuck with Endo even when he was drunk out of his mind.

Endo let out a groan, his head knocking with the steering wheel. It was two in the morning now and if he drove anymore he’d pass out at the wheel.

So, against his better judgment, they sat in a parking lot. The parking lot of Endo’s apartment complex. He doesn’t even know how he’ll(quietly) get Sakura inside.

Endo pat his hands on the wheel, taking a deep breath and lifting his head. He thrned to Sakura, who was struggling to get out of his seatbelt.

“Listen brat,” Endo snapped. “When we get in don’t even so much as breath until we get to my room. Got it.”

Endo pushed his finger in Sakura’s chest with a scowl. It was one thing for Endo to wake Takiishi himself. But for him to get awoken by another? While Endo was actively sneaking them inside?

Endo’s chance at living another hour would be thrown out the window.

Sakura looked at him blankly, as if Endo was speaking an entirely different language.

Endo’s eye twitched in irritation. He was definitely dying tonight.

Endo leaned over, unbuckling Sakura’s seatbelt and then his. He stepped out of the car, slamming the door behind him and rounded to the other side to yank Sakura out as well.

“Remember Sakura. We need to be quiet.” Endo slowly said again. Maybe if he heard it twice he’d listen better.

“What the hell? This isn’t my apartment.” Sakura yelled, words slurred as he turned back to the car.

Endo yanked him back by his arm with a sigh. The idiot would be at his own home if he gave Endo the right directions. Thinking abiut was pissing him off.

“Sakura I swear if you wake Takiishi we will both be in big trouble.” Endo sneered, bringing Sakura closer to him.

“You only ever care about Takiishi! What about me?” The boy practically whined.

What the hell? Endo looked at Sakura as if he was crazy. Because hell, he was. They hadn’t talked in a year, almost two. Endo couldn’t focus on Sakura anymore, Takiishi would kill him if he did. Not that he cared that much, but he sure was sick of Endo’s rambling.

Endo winced as he bumped into the door. When did he start walking? And climb the stairs? And when had Sakura freed himself from Endo’s grip and willingly come with him? He sighed, turning his head towards Sakura and doing a ‘shush’ motion with his finger.

Endo fished in his pocket for the key, slowly unlocking and pushing the door open. He stepped inside, carefully pulling Sakura in. This was bringing memories back. Late nights where Sakura blushed and smiled as Endo and him snuck to his room. Almost waking Takiishi and the confused look on his face when he’d wake up to Sakura eating breakfast at the table.

Endo smiled at the memories, quietly closing the door and locking it back. He turned towards Sakura ushering him towards his room slowly.

“I can-!” A hand clamped down tightly on Sakura’s mouth. He was far too loud and Endo valued his life far too much to let him talk right now. He sped his pace up, trying to walk while keeping Sakura silent.

As he reached his room he pushed Sakura inside, gently closing the door and letting out a breath. God that was scary. Well stleast what Endo would assume others found scary. He could see Sakura stumble onto his bed, maybe from memory.

Endo would appreciate it more if Sakura was sober.

He walked over to the edge of his bed, kicked his shoes off. Endo looked up at Sakura, who was fully clothed and most definitely falling asleep on his bed. Endo snapped his fingers in Sakura’s face to keep the younger male awake.

“Alteast get ready for bed if you’re sleeping.” Endo sighed, leaning down to untie Sakura’s shoes. Endo slipped them off and looked up at Sakura, who had layed back down on the bed.

“Sakura.” Endo snapped, seeing the bots body jolt. Sakura groaned, curling up in the middle of the bed.

“Come sleep with me.. I miss you..” he whined, lip jolting out.

Endo couldn’t believe it. There was no way Sakura had missed him. He had every chance to take Endo back and he passed them all up without a second thought. He sighed, sitting Sakura upright and walking towards his closet. Endo pulled out a plain white shirt and some shorts, the smallest size he had. It’s not like Sakura had grown much since highschool. He was still small, just a little visibly muscular.

Endo threw the clothes towards Sakura, who looked at him with the same pout.

He prayed Sakura wouldn’t fight him to change.

“Arms up.” Endo sighed, pulling the shirt off Sakura. His skin was still the same milky shade Endo had memorized. The slight discoloration on his left side and thin scar across his back. Endo pulled the shirt over Sakura’s head(which slid on rather easily) and helped him put his arms through the holes.

“I’m tired.” Sakura grumbled. Endo ignored him. He was tired too, everyone was tired. Everyone would be asleep if Sakura hadn’t drinken so much.

Endo leaned down on one knee, beginning to unbutton Sakura’s jeans. Sakura slapped his hand away, lips slightly parted.

“What are you doing?” He questioned rather loudly. Endo sighed at the volume.

“You were fine with me changing your shirt but pants is where you draw the line?” Endo raised a brow, shaking his head. “Lift your butt.” He ordered, pulling Sakura’s jeans off.

The slight protest from Sakura died quickly as he followed Endo’s order, his jeans sliding off. Endo put Sakura’s legs through the holes of the shorts and pulled them up, patting his thigh and standing up.

“You can sleep now.” Endo gestured towards Sakura, who had already flopped back down on the bed. Endo moved towards the door, switching the light off and(trying) to get comfortable on the floor.

He couldn’t care where he slept right now, as long as he could finally close his eyes. Sakura’s voice cut through the room before Endo could even finish his thoughts.

“Aren’t you gonna sleep with me?” He whined, though he hadn’t moved from his spot on the bed. Endo ran his hands down his fave in frustration. He drove the guy home, changed him, and gave him his bed. Why cant he just be quiet now?

“Because we broke up almost two years ago and it’s awkward to cuddle with your ex.” Endo stated rather bluntly. He would give his right arm to sleep in his bed right now. And Sakura being in it was certainly a plus he dreamed about.

“But I miss you! Let’s not be exes okay? Let’s be boyfriends again…”Sakura sighed into his pillow.

What? Was Endo hearing correctly? Sure Sakura was drunk but drunk words are sober thoughts right? He could almost smile from how giddy he felt. He would be if he wasn’t so tired.

Endo rose from the floor, climbing imto the bed next to Sakura. He wrapped his arms around the smaller boy and pulled him into his chest. This must be Endo’s reward for being such a good citizen. Even if Sakura smelled like alcohol Endo couldn’t care less.

He could feel Sakura breathing. And when sleep took over his body, he could feel the quieter, even breaths. Endo sighed as he let sleep take over his body.

It was 6 when Endo woke up. Earlier than he would’ve but that’s okay. He gets to stare at a sleeping Sakura once more. The way his lashes fluttered and lips stayed slightly parted was too cute for Endo not to stare.

He pressed a light kiss to the boys hair and slipped himself out of bed, replacing his body with a pillow.

Endo stretched, carefully leaving the room and starting on breakfast. Takiishi preferred to have it already done when he woke up, even if it was cold. Endo worked diligently as always. He set his and Takiishi’s portion out on the table first before starting on hangover soup for Sakura. Even if he freaked out when he woke up, Sakura would eat the soup. Even when they’d argue Sakura would eat whatever Endo made him.

He poured the soup in a bowl, setting it on the table as well before turning the stove off and sitting at the table. Endo scrolled through his phone, already replying to clients and taking jobs for later.

Endo heard his door slam shut, and when he looked up from his phone he could see a blushing Sakura. Endo smiled, properly taking in the sight of Sakura in his clothes.

“Endo you are something else,” Sakura gritted out. “Do you wanna tell me how the hell I ended up in your apartment with your clothes on?” He sneered.

Endo smirked, patting the seat next to him.

“I made you some hangover soup. And to answer your question you got drunk as hell last night and your friends called me. Didn’t know I was still your emergency contact.” Endo shrugged smugly, earning a groan from Sakura.

The boy walked over, plopping down on the seat next to Endo with minimal protest.

Endo would take that as proof Sakura wasn’t spouting bullshit last night.

“You wouldn’t believe the stuff you said last night.” Endo chuckled, watching Sakura grimace at the mention. “Something about missing me and being boyfriends-“

Sakura cut Endo off by slamming his hands down on the table, swallowing the food in his mouth.

“Not gonna deny it?” Endo asked, smiling at Sakura. He missed teasing him. Seeing all of Sakura’s cute reactions. Endo had missed making breakfast for him too. Not only was it fun watching Sakura eat but it was fun seeing Takiishi’s expression change in the slightest before accepting the fact that Sakura was there. Endo missed seeing both of them together.

Endo looked up at the door across from the kitchen as he watched Takiishi shuffle in, then freeze. He looked at Endo and then at Sakura with slightly raised brows. Takiishi was wearing light green sleep shirt with green plaid pants to match. He walked over towards the table and sat down, eyeing Sakura.

“I didn’t know you guys got back together.” He simply stated, earning a blush from Sakura and a smile from Endo. He didn’t bother saying anything else and started eating again.

Sakura finished his food, putting his dishes in the sink and beginning to head back to Endo’s room. Most likely to change but Endo was sure he could convince him to stay longer.

Sakura turned back to Endo’s room and Takiishi, a scowl on his face.

“We are not back together.” He practically yelled and slammed Endo’s door shut. Takiishi didn’t bother to look back up. Endo wasn’t even sure he was paying attention to Sakura after the initial surprise.

Endo laughed, he felt at ease with this. Even if him and Sakura would go back to not talking. Even if they never saw eachother again after this. Endo knew when to appreciate things like this.

He sighed as he leaned back in his chair. Yeah, this’ll do for now.
