Work Text:
Lunchtime should be for lunch. Not tracking down a suspect at some trendy cafe to watch him flirt with some woman he met over the internet.
'She's going to fleece him for information' Miranda hissed. 'Don't even think about it.'
Damn. She caught him looking at the sobrasada. Max sat up straight and listened to the muttered commentary from the person who was clever enough to sit behind the couple in question. He had kept his ears open but Miranda had a good view of their suspect and the nearby mirror. She watched the mirror.
'They'll be doing something dodgy under the table' she hissed.
Max prepared to turn around.
'Don't make it obvious, stop looking.'
'They are by the window in a quiet café, she won't try anything…dodgy.'
Internally he sighed at the English language. Miranda glanced covertly over.
'She's asked him to close his eyes.'
'So?'
He failed to see the relevance.
Miranda sighed.
'When a woman asks you to close her eyes, it means she's either going to stab you or give you a blowjob. Or a hand job, whichever one.'
Max looked panicked, trying to flick through the options in his head about what else would happen to a man if he was asked to close his eyes.
'Do women really do that?'
Miranda raised her eyebrows.
'I doubt she's going to stab him because she needs the code to the safe.'
'She's not going to…' spluttered Max.
Miranda studied the scene with practised nonchalance.
'Shameless' she tutted.
'What?'
'Clever. He's folded.'
'What?'
'Just wait.'
Max waited tensely. Two minutes felt like an hour. The woman walked past them triumphantly, trailing a scent of mimosa. She was spotless. Max peeked in the mirror. Their suspect looked shell shocked.
'Right, let's go' said Miranda. 'Follow her.'
Max was none the wiser. What the hell had she done to persuade him?
'What the hell did she do to persuade him?' He asked later. The woman had messaged someone outside the cafe and had given them the slip. Miranda had been very annoyed.
'Do you really want to know?'
Miranda's curled smile made him wary. He reasoned that she wasn't going to stab him. So that meant…shit. He glanced down. Her arms were above the table. His sense of reassurance curdled when she took hold of his hand. She ran her fingers across his hand and he tensed, closed his eyes as requested. He peeked and she gave him such a look that he shut them again. She raised his hand to her face. Mouth level.
Miranda thought it was pretty funny that there was something that Max did not know about women. She nibbled the tip of his finger, licked around it, sliding it into her mouth slowly and carefully, one inch at a time. Sealing her lips around it, sucking a bit more intensely, noting his expression and hurried breathing, letting her tongue put him under pressure. Sunk him all the way in, sucking deeply, noting that he did as he was bid, keeping his eyes closed, keeping impressively silent. She noted that.
Releasing his finger with a pop, she smiled triumphantly. He looked dazed and confused. Just like their suspect.
'It makes more sense in public if you use some sort of ingredient' she informed him. Max frowned, trying to imagine her licking sobrasada off his fingers. Oh dear. Their suspect was in trouble with tactics like that.
